Chapter 123
Arc 14 - Absolute Wish - Part 7
Nazar bit his lip in anger as he floated high above the island where Eddie was fighting Godslayers.
He wanted to join the fight, but a certain thought came to him; What if the people saw Nazar with Eddie?
He is enemy number one at the moment on this planet and many others, but Eddie is the opposite. He is a hero who is loved by many around the world, even if his admirers are not vocal. So, Nazar doesn’t want Eddie’s image ruined if people saw the two of them together.
It seems Eddie has found his way to the island, so everything will be fine.
Nazar knows how strong and powerful Eddie is, so he is not worried. He is not worried that he is facing dozens of soldiers.
Plus, it’s just a bunch of soldiers. What’s the worst they can do?
Nazar chuckled once he remembered something from a few years ago.
That idiot even went vegan for a while because he wanted to avoid hurting living beings as much as possible.
“Truly, what an idiot.”
Nazar never truly understood why someone would want to be a hero. Yes, sure, save people but not for free. What do heroes get in return when they save people?
To him, doing something for one self made them a villain but doing it for others - and without getting paid in any form in return - made them a hero. His view of the world was flawed.
No, to be more precise, he did not want to accept the truth of the world.
His everyday business was with higher beings and all of them were nothing but selfish bastards, so every one of them was considered a villain in his eyes.
So, that’s why he applied the same rules to lower beings and put them in either the hero or villain side in the grand spectrum of good and bad.
But was surprised to see that it did not apply to them.
It was much easier for him to call X a villain because of their selfish actions and Y a hero because of their selfless actions for the greater good.
Eddie contributed heavily to this thought process of Nazar. He is a man, a good selfless man who will always look for a better way and try to use violence as less as possible.
However, when it came to everyday normal people, the rules were different. Heroes and villains weren’t determined so easily.
As an avid reader and watcher of fiction, he has come across many grey characters, but for once, he refused to mix them up. He refused to accept those terms and followed a basic and flawed line of thinking.
Does a hero need to be all good without a shred of bad? No, they don’t have to be. As long as their actions and intentions are good, then they are a hero. But if their intentions and actions are bad, then naturally, they would be the villain.
Anything else in between would fall into its own category.
“Anyway...”
He glanced around the island with white eyes.
He can see everything. The movement of atoms, the flow of energy, the breathing of humans, flapping of animals, the chirping of technology, the soul of the dead that is moving above this island, and more.
“!!”
When he looked around, he saw some familiar armours.
“THE GODSLAYERS?!” Images of the old world flashed across his mind. A terrible world where good things rarely happened. And these armours fell on the bad side too.
The Godslayers. In the original timeline, they were made to battle against Nazar. They tried to blow up schools across many cities to get to Nazar, but unfortunately for them, they failed almost immediately.
They did some terrible things such as killing people, but overall their damage was minimised by Nazar.
While thinking of the original timeline, he thought to a few other timelines where similar situations took place. He fought the Godslayers, while they did manage to destroy a whole country, they were stopped easily after Nazar found out they were physically weak.
They won’t be taken down by a normal human, but compared to someone like Eddie or Nazar, they won’t even last a second.
The most powerful Godslayers appeared in a timeline where Nazar ruled over the world with an iron fist. They were powerful enough to physically match people like Eddie individually, but only for a brief moment.
"Are they my Cybermen or something? They keep appearing in every timeline…"
With a quick glance, he found out how powerful they were.
They are powerful, sure, but physically, they are weak, so Eddie should be fine. He is a smart guy, he can figure that out by himself.
He let out a sigh of relief.
In any case...
“There!”
He flew downwards towards a certain bungalow at the edge of the island.
Like most buildings, this place was deserted.
Or it should have been but there was still one person inside it.
A familiar face.
“I knew it!” he exclaimed angrily.
❢◥ ▬▬▬▬▬▬ ◆ ▬▬▬▬▬▬ ◤❢
“How dare you--”
Eddie and the energy beam shot towards each other.
The distance between them was a few meters. He could dodge it. He could leave this solar system before the beam would even reach him.
But for once… for the first time, anger and bloodlust consumed Eddie.
He did not understand it, but he was angry at the words uttered by the man with a thin and evil smile spread across his face.
“『Die!』”
Eddie was flying right at the muscular man known as Alek. And Alek had thrown an energy beam at Eddie.
While he was flying right at it, he could not notice it due to his anger.
Deep down within his mind, Eddie wanted to scream; “No, stop. Stop moving. You ARE GOING TO DIE!!“
But on the surface, nothing changed. He continued to move right at the energy beam.
The distance between them was less than 10 meters.
The man and the energy were moving at a speed that far surpassed what the human eye could recognise.
Eddie moved at a speed which allowed him to see the coming energy ball and yet he still had enough time window to move out of its way. But if he dodges the energy beam coming at him, the civilians might die. Furthermore, he was too enraged to even come up with a different solution.
What did Alek - (or is that even Alek?) - even tell Eddie? What caused him to lose control and become enraged? It has never happened to him before.
“『How simple.』”
Alek’s mouth moved with a thin smile, causing the reality to flicker.
Small squares broke apart his form, then recreated it.
What he did cause his existence to vanish from completely, marking this place like a black hole when looked at by higher beings.
For a split second, his energy became known, so he got rid of it immediately.
But.
Eddie was about to collide with the energy any second.
At the back of his mind, he screamed, “Nazar… I need your help.”
For most of his career, he asked for Nazar’s help many times, but never like this. He never had to cry for his life.
Through the anger, his lips moved.
“N...”
However, Alek giggled, causing the reality to twitch, removing Eddie’s voice.
“!!”
No, the very concept sound and speaking became alien to him.
He was closing in to the energy beam, which was sure to kill him.
It was coming.
He had no choice but to close his eyes and accept his end.
Mom… Dad… I am sorry...
When he told his parents about his powers, he promised them two things: I will never kill anyone and I will not die.
Everyone wants to be a hero, but heroism comes with its own terrible cost and fate. They can die, their loved ones can get killed or become collateral damage. So, Eddie promised them that nothing bad will happen to him or his family.
I don’t want to--
He shut his eyes.
The beam was about to collide at any moment and extinguish him from this world.
The man known as Norse God will become history quicker than the speed of light.
WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU...
He is powerful, but he knows someone who is more powerful than anyone.
He knows someone who will always have him back, no matter what.
So, where is he then?
Where is this friend of his when he needs him the most?
NAAAAAZZZZZZZZAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR?!?!
“Fear not...”
Someone heavy landed in front of him, nearly destroying the whole planet underneath them.
“For I am here now.”
He should have been dead now but Eddie was not sure what happened. He did, however, notice he had fallen flat to the ground on his face when the other person landed.
!!
He forced his eyes open but closed it immediately since his face was in the ground and something nearly went into it.
Raising his head, he squinted his eyes for a moment since the sun was flaring directly on his eyes.
Huh… Who?
He could see two legs in front of him, so he slowly started to look up.
Studying the form of the man, his eyes slowly widened.
He couldn’t see his back properly because the light was shining brightly on it, but even then, his eyes widened.
“You--!!”
It seems his voice had come back to him.
“Stay down, leave this to me.”
The man’s majestic and calm voice soothed Eddie’s worries.
❢◥ ▬▬▬▬▬▬ ◆ ▬▬▬▬▬▬ ◤❢
Above Chias, Chochica Empire:
Inside a spacious grey spaceship, Afshahan sat at a small desk. His elbows were on the desk and his chin was resting on top of his clasped arms.
“Hmmm.”
He should be outside guarding the planet, but a few minutes ago, he came into rest and to think.
Something seems off...
He wasn’t sure, but he had a bad feeling.
Why did Nazar even hire them? He is one of the most powerful beings to exist, so why can he not keep his empire safe?
To top it off, Baros is an exceptional being too.
Certainly, he could have asked one of his other friends. It just… It feels weird how much reinforcements he has called. Even if he wanted some, he should have just called like five or something. 200 is a little… And to think he wanted to ask for more.
Afshahan and Nazar have met only a few times. Their relationship was strictly business, so he does not know him well.
However, he knew the Nazar of his own reality.
On the surface, the two of them are very different, but if he could find some similarities, that would be;
It seems both hate their power...
Afshahan shook his head.
He wasn’t so sure anymore.
Nazar has always been powerful and hated it and the way he talked about it before, it was always filled with resentfulness and sadness.
But when he met him recently, it was almost as if Nazar was boasting about it.
And not to mention, the look on his face was more natural compared to before which felt stiff and fabricated. Interesting.
Maybe they don’t know each other very well, but at first glance, he noticed many differences between the Nazar now and the one he met a few years ago.
In any case, the enemy he is facing must be too far or…!!
His eyes widened.
Wait, he couldn’t be… right?
He raised his hands to his head and slowly removed his helmet, revealing a dark bony and muscular face with big black eyes - without sclera - and a diagonal scratch across his face.
Hmm. Will he really do it? Is he…?
He chuckled.
What an idiot. Does he really think that would work?
He slowly placed his helmet on the desk before him.
Well, as long as I get my money, which I will get no matter what, then we can get a long vacation. Ah, it’s summer on Earth... Perfect time, it seems.
The thought of Earth caused him to pause for a moment and lean back into his chair.
In his universe, it was he who destroyed his very planet, but the reason escapes him now. However, he will forever remember the Nazar of his world and the day he got his powers.
Anyway, I should keep my eyes open just in case something--
His trail of thoughts broke off as he sensed something
“!!”
Afshahan’s eyes widened in fear.
Who?
❢◥ ▬▬▬▬▬▬ ◆ ▬▬▬▬▬▬ ◤❢
Outox Empire:
On this side of the universe, the most powerful and important empires are; Vanaha Empire, Duluria Empire, Chochica Empire and Outox Empire.
Duluria Empire is well known across the universe for their military might.
Vanaha Empire is well known for their technology.
Chochica Empire is well known for their magic.
That leaves only the Outox Empire.
Compared to other empires, this is relatively new. And it is very, very small - being the only planet empire. However, their intelligence is far higher than any other empire in the vicinity.
The natives of the empire are elves whose original world died many years ago. They resided in this world, leaving aside their past of bloodshed, they formed an empire of intelligence.
Since then, it has become the hub for scholars, researchers and geniuses. Many have tried to replicate them, but none comes close to this.
One of their greatest inventions is - 「Native Reality」. It’s a device which rewrites the reality of this planet on the conceptual level, comparable to the higher class angels.
Once the reality is changed, it cannot be restored by any means, not even by angels. The old reality can be recreated if one knows how it was, but it can never be restored.
The reality of this planet changes every day. It is the biggest attraction of this world.
Who doesn’t want to live in a world where the environment changes every day? One day you will be living in a world of cold white snow and the next, in a medieval world.
Although confusing for newcomers, people can get used to it rather quickly.
The reason they change their reality regularly is to keep criminals away and confuse them in case they attack.
Furthermore, the Outox Empire chooses a new era from the many planets and keeps it as their theme for the day because they want to pay respect to the said cultures.
Of course, entering this world is almost impossible unless given permission.
There is a barrier around the world which blocks any form entry into this world, including teleportation and 「Space Warp」.
There are only two people who ever managed to get through this barrier; Nazar and Solace.
But today, a third one passed through it.
In front of the castle of the Outox Empire - which looked no different than a castle from ancient Egypt - a dark figure, too fast for the eye to see, swooshed.
“Where”
A voice came from the dark flickering figure.
“are”
It was the voice of a man.
“you”
His voice was carried throughout the castle.
“Weq?”
He was standing in front of the castle, so the reason why others could hear him was that he was manipulating the vibrational frequencies around him.
“♫”
Inside the castle’s large library, the current monarch, Weq - a beautiful man with chalk-like white skin, long golden hair, green eyes, long elf ears, and wearing a long black gown that covers his entire body - closed the book and stood up from his luxurious desk.
“I thought he--”
Before he could finish, a gust of wind came through the large luxurious door.
As a black figure stood before, Weq gulped.
Unlike the Duluria Empire, the king is not chosen because of how powerful they are. No, here, the king is chosen based on their intelligence.
Weq is the smartest man on this planet, thus making him the king of this empire.
Since their species lack raw destructive power and elven magic - normal magic - comes with great cost, Weq researched technology and magic and created a powerful armour.
The black gown around him is imbued with technology and elven magic which allows him to withstand great damage and battle against powerful enemies on equal grounds.
But even that was not powerful to withstand a flick from the man before him.
The blur had flicked at him and Weq was flown through the wall of the library.
The shields of the gown minimise the damage but it still felt a little hurt.
“Re...”
Weq gasped for breath as he stood up.
“「Rewind」?!”
“Yes”
A gust of wind appeared and he picked up Weq by his neck.
“me.”
“What do...” grunting made it hard for Weq to speak for a moment. “What do you want?”
“I would prolong it but…” unlike before, his sound reached him normally. “I need Solace’s schematics.”
“...” Weq was not sure how else to react to his request other than an aloof, “Huh? What are… are you talking about?”
Rewind let out an extremely exaggerated long sigh.
“You are one of Nazar’s closest friends and he trusts you more than most, so of course he left a copy of her blueprints with you. Now be a good king and bring that out to me. UNLESS! You want your people to die. What do you say, old chum?”
“Even--”
Rewind let him go and Weq fell to the ground.
Massaging his neck, he asked the most important question, “Even if I had it… Why do you need her schematics?”
“Hmmm.”
Rewind went quiet for a while.
“I don’t know,” he replied in a derisive tone, “my new boss needs it… She is weird. She needs a lot of things. Women, am I right?”
Weq was not sure what was going on, so he kept quiet.
“Hey, do you want to hear a story?”
Weq knew it was probably a pathetic story about how he killed a few planets while laughing at it, so he said, “No.”
“Oh...”
Rewind drooped his shoulders in a dejected manner, however, Weq could not see it.
“In any case… And that other moron does the bare minimum help these days…” He started to rant about his boss again. “He asks her to find everything on her own, and so she dumps it onto us.”
Rewind let out another long lazy and tired sigh.
“So, yeah… We need to study her--- Her… What’s her connection to Nazar--- Oh right. Her connection to Nazar. Her source of power and the spe-- AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! This is complicated. I just wanna kill someone instead. Hey, can I kill you?”
“...No.”
Rewind chuckled.
“Ah-ha-ha...”
A shockwave of energy flowed out of him, causing the castle to crumble.
Weq was not worried. The next day, it would be perfectly fine tomorrow. And the important stuff inside it will automatically be moved to a pocket dimension in case something goes wrong, which is why they have been able to keep centuries worth of research safe.
“So, can you give it to me? If possible, I don’t want to kill you. No, wait! I DO want to KILL you, buutttttttttttttttttttttt, my boss doesn’t want that. I mean if someone close to him dies, it might cause us problems… Oops, I said too much.”
“By him… You mean, Nazar, right?”
Weq forced himself to stand up.
“Mm-hmm.”
“Speaking of… Do… Do you know anything about Nazar?”
“...”
“I mean, surely, he has told you how he destroyed everything, right?”
“No, that was not everything. And no, it wasn’t him either. It was someone named the Nameless One, who look--”
“You are wrong,” Rewind cut off Weq’s words. “Well… kind of.”
“Look, I d--”
“He is THE God. Not A God, but THE God. Do you understand what I am getting at?”
“I do not care, please leave. I don’t wish to have you involved with my world. I don’t want my world dead. So, please, leave.”
“Hmm...”
Rewind slapped Weq, throwing him back to the ground.
“LISTEN!”
His shout caused Weq’s ears to bleed.
However, his magic kicked in and started healing him.
“HE IS THE GOD WHO MADE EVERYTHING. WHAT’S SO HARD ABOUT UNDERSTANDING THAT? HE MADE EVERYTHING. YOU, ME, THE UNIVERSE, THE MULTIVERSE… EVERYTHING!”
Weq isn’t acquainted well with Rewind, but if he knows one thing about his is that Rewind doesn’t get angry easily. He is always laughing evilly about one thing or another.
“SEE? HE LIED TO YOU. HE LIED TO ME. HE LIED TO EVERYONE. HE COULD… He could have...”
His painful shout vanished and was replaced by a depressed tone.
“Have you ever known someone who can solve all your problems -- and that person is a friend -- but won’t do it? Have you ever known someone like that?”
Weq did not reply but kept quiet.
Rewind felt angrier, but he ignored that and took a deep breath.
“Anyway, give me those schematics. RIGHT NOW!”
“...No.”
Rewind breathed out in annoyance.
“WHY MUST ALL OF YOU--”
Rewind cut off his words.
“!!”
Rewind immediately looked up to the sky.
“!!”
Weq, too, picked up something with his scanners. It was immediately sent to his mind.
“What is… that?”
“That would be…”

Planet Wul:
Inside a luxurious room, a man widened his eyes.
The tall amber coloured alien man with big black eyes - which did not have sclera. He had two large legs which resemble that of a chicken and four hands which resembled that of a monkey. He had a face like a tiger.
The large body was covered by a white cloth. All of his body was covered, except for his hands. The clothes had ancient golden decorations on it - which included a landscape of sort with animals, fields, starry sky and sun. A dark grey scarf with similar decorations was wrapped around his long thin neck.
The man is called Val’Ikryn, the Supreme Judge of the Galactic Council.
“What is this?”
Like most people in this universe, he sensed something odd yet dangerous. It was so dangerous, everyone who sensed it raised a hand to the head and held it tightly to reduce the pain.
“Whoever entered the universe, it is as if they want everyone to notice it--”
He swallowed his words because he sensed something else.
“Another one popped--- No, another-- And ANOTHER?!”
He stood with a dry throat.
“Judging by their trajectory, their heading towards--”
He did not want to believe it, so he checked it again. And again. And again.
“Earth?!”
❢◥ ▬▬▬▬▬▬ ◆ ▬▬▬▬▬▬ ◤❢
Planet Omega:
On this beautiful planet of energy which is occupied by the third dimensional Gods, Omegan, the God among Gods - a man-made of vibrant energy - narrowed his eyes.
“Oh?”
He is the ruler of this planet, the most powerful of the Gods.
The third dimensional Gods. They were made to replace the old one and stay hidden from the view of everyone. They were beings who existed and people knew about them, but most didn’t see them.
It was only until recently that they made themselves visible to everyone.
So, not everyone knows their history. Omega people are not benevolent Gods. No, if anything, they are savages. Savages with more power than anyone.
Like most, they only care about power and control.
He wanted to learn about Nazar but Nazar refused to tell him, so he offered him something. Omegan proposed that they will no longer be as power-hungry as other villains. So, Nazar agreed with him.
Since then, the Omega people have observed the universe and only rarely have they gotten involved with the threats.
Today is no different.
Omegan noticed the energy but neither he nor one of his subjects made a move. They stayed in their place and ignored the coming threat.
In case if anything goes wrong, Omegan snapped his fingers and their planet shifted out completely from this universe.
They will be safe, away from the battlefield.
If these villains wanted to, they could potentially find this place, but this planet will keep shifting through the multiverse and it’s phases until they stay safe.
Omegan let out a sigh of relief.
“Heh.”
