《Dimensional Market System》(I)

"Aaah my head!"
Rex rolled on the ground from the pain that he felt. After a while, the pain began to ease away as if it had never existed. He sat up and was surprised to find himself covered in blood and in the forest.
He quickly patted himself down trying to find if he was injured in any way but all that was discovered was a hole in the shirt that he was wearing. "What's going on, is anyone there? If so, come out and tell me what sick joke you're playing. Why can't I remember anything and why am I here!"
Rex waited for a response but nothing appeared.
(("Scanning for errors ...…..Errors detected"))
(("Analysing...….. Solutions found"))
He looked around wildly to try to find where the voice was coming from but he couldn't pinpoint it. If anything it seemed like the voice was coming from his own head.
(("Implementation of solutions will begin in 5….4….3…."))
"Who are you and what are you talking abo....aaah!"
As the countdown struck zero Rex felt an excruciating amount of pain far worse than what he felt earlier. He felt like his head was about to explode and that his eyes were going to burn. While he was in pain flashes of memories appeared inside his head.
"Nearly dying from pain two times in one day is too much, these memories... are they from two different lives? I feel a special connection to one of them but the other feels odd. Could it be that I was reincarnated into another world with the memories of the owner of this body? I remember dying after a truck crashed into my room. Could that have been the infamous Truck-Kun? My name is Rex but I'm in the body of Oreth a demon….. What's that?"

At the top right corner of his sight, there was a small icon of a blue shopping cart. Using his hand he tried to push it but nothing happened. He then decided to focus on the small icon and what appeared was a transparent blue screen.

".....Okay then, that's pretty interesting."
Using the memories from Oreth, he infused his mana and thought about the skill he wanted to use. A second later all around his body lighting sparks traveled through his body and zapped trees, plants, and the ground. He immediately called back the Lightning Shield skill and instead used Lightning Strike. Out of the palm of his hand, a large lightning bolt shot out and made a charred hole on a nearby tree.
"This is awesome, but sadly Oreth never really used these skills since he has very low mana. Since he is a demon even if his mana pool is small which creates plenty of trouble since demons are a race where the strong push around the weak."
Rex went through Oreth's memories once more and carefully analyzed them, "So to help his scummy parents he asked a stronger demon from his class if he could work for him. Turgas, the demon who he had asked, had a group who hunted demonic beasts near the city. The demonic beasts are beasts who had been affected by the Araphel Mist that surrounded the Demonic Continent. The mist would enter the beat's body and corrupt its Mana Crystal. This made the beast become stronger and more aggressive. Since Oreth's magic was weak and his mana pool was small he was used as bait and after being impaled by a Speared Tailed Tiger he died."

He touched the area where there was a hole on the shirt still remembering the pain Oreth had felt.
"Alright then before I start messing around with the system I got, let's get to the city, I was already killed once I'm in no hurry to be killed again. I'll check everything else out once I'm home... that reminds me, Oreth's parents really are assholes. Even if they themselves don't have much power they have always been angry at Oreth for being so weak and disappointing."
He followed the trail that led to the city and after 2 hours of running, he finally arrived at the city gate of Sheol Esh City. The city was covered by a purple force field, which was powered by magic cores, that didn't allow you to pass unless you had a tattoo that had the seal of the city's ruler. This tattoo contained mana of that ruler and if you didn't pay your monthly tax you would automatically be pulled out of the city by the forcefield and unable to enter.
As he walked through the forcefield the tattoo that he had on his neck began to shine. After crossing he was greeted by an astonishing view of the giant city gate that was guarded by about 80 armored demons. On top of the walls, he could also see that there were soldiers looking at the forest. The field did a very good job keeping unwanted visitors; the soldiers that were placed on duty were probably the low-ranking newbies that came out of the academy. They would be put to stand there watching the forest for a very long time, this would test their patience, commitment, and obedience. Demon soldiers should be willing to die if asked to, so if they couldn't do something as simple as stand and guard they were not worthy and would be used as cannon fodder if the need ever arises.
'Now that I think about it, Oreth will soon be turning 15 and he was hoping to enter the academy. I would want nothing more than to leave the Demonic Continent and live leisurely in a human city but that's not possible. The Continent is surrounded by a magic barrier and the doors of the barrier will not open unless you have incredibly strong demonic mana. The only thing that is allowed to come in without any work are the magic beasts. The barrier senses their magic core and allows them to walk through. Any other race like humans, elves, dwarves, and beastmen are not allowed even if they try tricks such as carrying a mana crystal of a living beast.'
He sighed and looked at the door of "his" father's blacksmithing shop, "So unless I want to continue this life, I have to get myself in that academy and start climbing ranks so that I get the opportunity to leave this place."
