《Dimensional Market System》(VIII)

Oreth walked out of the city and into the forest where he followed a trail that he would usually follow when he was part of Turgas's hunting group. He took his time and pretended to be frightened of every little noise. After about half an hour he took a different trail and not much later he began hearing loud roars coming from up ahead.
He pretended to hesitate and think about running back, in all reality he was scared, it was his first time to actually face a monster. Even if he had the old Oreth's memories he couldn't help but feel nervous.
In the end, he decided to slowly sneak his way towards the roars, what he found was a green-haired demon wearing blood-red armor. The demon was fighting against a pack of 6 bone-armored wolves that had him surrounded.
The demon was using an 8ft chain that seemed to have a life of it's own. It changed trajectory in mid-air, what made it even more incredible is how it cut through the wolves and the bone armor that they had around their bodies.
'He uses wind magic to be able to control his chain and to somehow sharpen his chain. This is incredible, he has such great control over his magic.'
The fight was over pretty quickly and the demon's chain wrapped around his shoulder by itself. Then the demon brought out a knife and began to cut into the wolves and take out their cores and put them in a bag that he had.
Oreth stopped hiding and began to slowly walk towards the demon, "Umm hello, I just saw what you did and I was wondering if I could join you. I'm not all that strong but I could help you with cleaning the corpses or attracting the attention of the beats while you kill them."
The green-haired demon shook his head and continued doing what he was doing, "I'm not interested, I don't need your help. If I accepted you I would simply be giving money and resources away, why the hell would I do that?"
"Is there anything else that I can do to change your mind?"
The demon shook his head and moved on to the next corpse that was cut in half.

Oreth sighed and started to turn around towards the direction that he had come from but he got a glimpse of something from above. It suddenly shot out of a tree branch directly above the harvesting demon.
He quickly recognized the Mirror Strike Snake, the name was given based on the two heads of the snake. This creature had the ability to split and give it a chance to bite you with it's 4 rows of teeth that spin like a grinder. If one of the two heads survive it would try to escape after bitting and in a matter of hours, it will have a new head allowing it to repeat the process.
When Orteh saw the snake he quickly ran and pushed the green-haired demon aside. He was able to spear through one of the heads but the snake quickly split and bit his shoulder. That moment he felt a pain like he had never felt before as the snake began grinding his shoulder.
The green-haired demon quickly figured out what had happened and he used his knife to cut the head of the snake cleanly off.
"You…. Why did you help me?"
Oreth ripped his shirt off and placed it over the injury so that he wouldn't bleed out. The physical and healing capabilities of demons were higher than humans but that didn't mean that he would heal immediately especially from an injury like this. "I was hoping that I could save you and prove that I'm not useless. Maybe then you would change your mind."
"You big idiot what good would that be if you are dead, if that thing would have gotten your throat you'd be dead. Hurry and let me see your injury, this might help a bit for now. We can buy some more once we arrive in the city."
The demon poured a red liquid on his shoulder and the wound began to heal. The healing potion was a pretty common item but it was a bit pricey, the one that the demon had poured on him was probably a mid-grade one. It had the power of about 3 low-grade potions and probably cost somewhere around 9 gold. Not all demons could afford one but it was indeed useful.

While the demon was finishing his core harvest, Oreth spotted something strange coming from the body of the snake that he had killed. Out of its corpse, two objects that were shaped like cards glowed grey and floated in the air. He was surprised that the card's light didn't get the attention of the green-haired demon but it probably meant that he was the only one that could see it.
When he picked up the cards their grey glow disappeared and they turned into two plain grey cards. One had a picture of what seemed to be the snake's vertebrae and the other had a golden coin and a 5 directly under it.
They began walking back to the city and getting to know each other. Apparently, the green-haired demon's name was Ernath and he was the son of a 3rd rank squad leader in the demon legion that was outside the demon continent. His father had taught him how to fight since he could walk which was why he was able to fight so well earlier. He had been part of a hunting group before but he left it since they only slowed him down.
"So that's pretty much my story, while my father is out I've been out hunting and improving my skills. What about you, Oreth?"
"Well what can I say about me, haha. I'm simply the son of a blacksmith and well I'm a student of the 11th sector. I used to be in a group but something happened to the group leader today and the group will most likely be disbanded so that's why I'm here alone. I didn't want to accidentally meet up with what was left of the old group so I went a different way and that's how I found you."
"Really, I also go to the 11th sector, I'm in class 72 though."
After walking back into the city they began to head towards the Sheol Esh's Market, Oreth followed Ernath to a large building that he had visited many times.
They waited in line for a few minutes before it was their turn to go to the receptionist.
"Sup Ernath, what do you have for the Hunter's Association today?
The green-haired demon brought out his bag and placed the 7 cores on the table before dumping several corpses on the ground. He then gave his Hunter's card and asked for Oreth's "The low-grade magic core and the corpses of the snakes are this guy's so put it on his card,"
The receptionist nodded and handed him some coins, "Alright then that's 6 middle-grade cores which will be 1 gold and 2 silvers. I take it that you don't want to wait till we appraise the corpses right?"
Ernath nodded and the receptionist handed Oreth 5 copper coins, "The rest will be transferred once the corpses of the snakes have been appraised. Have a nice day."
Oreth nodded and looked at the 5 copper coins in his hand, 'Right so a bronze coin has the worth of 1 coin, a copper is worth 10, silver is 100 coins, gold is a 1000, and Platinum is 10,000 coins.'
When they walked out of the Hunter's Association, Ernath led Oreth to a small building named Sarnara's Potions. When they entered they were surrounded by all sorts of potions that were being sorted by two female elves. Both of them had slave crests on their arms which made it impossible for them to defy their master's orders.
Ernath walked to a man in the register and pulled out his card, "Give me two mid and low-grade healing potions."
The demon nodded and pulled out four bottles of redd liquid, two of the bottles were fancier than the others. Ernath paid 24 gold for the healing potions and they left, once they were out the green-haired demon poured a low-grade potion on Oreth's shoulder. After using the mid-grade potion his injury was pretty much healed and now that Ernath had also used the low-grade potion there was no sign of him ever being hurt.
"So Oreth do you want to get something to eat?"
He nodded and followed the demon to a small stand that was selling tacos, while they were ordering someone screamed behind them. Oreth was about to turn around but before he could he was kicked to the side by Ernath.
