《Journey of Detachment》The Guardian God Descends

After that, he started observing all of the people and their conversations in the Imperial Palace and the Temple of the Guardian God.
Through his spirit sense, he found out that the number of people at the peak of physical cultivation, that is the Blood-Exchange realm, was only twenty people in comparison to the millions in the empire and they had the title of Immortal Protectors.
Wang Wei internally scoffed that they dared to use the word immortal in their title, but then he remembered that they truly didn't know their own lifespan as he forgot to properly inform them of it, so, in their minds, those who had achieved the peak of known cultivation might really be immortal.
As a matter of fact, once he achieved his new cultivation realm even Wang Wei didn't know how long his lifespan was outside of the higher realm, as no one actually experienced the cultivation path before him.
Therefore in order to see the actual lifespan, he has to wait for the people in the higher realm to exhaust it in order to see how long it was in reality or ask the Heavenly Will.
Since he was curious about it he immediately went into a secluded corner and communed with the Heavenly Will as to what his lifespan would be.
It then informed him that the reason that most physical cultivators died after a thousand years wasn't that their bodies died, rather it was because their souls were getting weaker after so such a long time and couldn't bear their memories without strengthening.
So even if their body could bear with the passage of time, their souls couldn't and so they died when their souls couldn't keep all of their memories.
So his lifespan with both his physical cultivation and Buddhist cultivation would number in tens of thousands of years, while if he only cultivated Buddhism it would only be a few hundred, and that was if he constantly used the Qi from his surroundings to strengthen his body.
Wang Wei then continued to spy on the entire first ring but he didn't find out much useful information besides one piece of information that could be potentially useful to him.

The next thing he observed was in fact the Temple of The Guardian God, and the religion that was built in his name, what he saw actually managed to surprise him.
He actually saw that in the Temple there were tens of thousands of people dressed in Buddhist robes, and praying to his statues, just as he prayed to the statue of the Buddha in his previous life.
When he saw that surprisingly, no feelings of success arose from him as he expected, but the feeling of sympathy. He felt sorry for them, searching in the dark with no one showing them the way, just as he did not so long ago. And he swore that he would change that very soon.
Unsurprisingly they didn't achieve much in the way of using or advancing the Buddhist teachings he introduced to them, after all, how could a mere two hundred years of development be compared to the many millennia of Buddhism being developed in his previous life.
So after learning all he needed to, he once again sneaked out from the first ring back to the third in order to fly into the sky without being spotted as he couldn't utilize his stealth technique and fly at the same time. And if he flew without it, he would definitely be spotted.
When he arrived at the third ring he flew back into the sky and back to the first ring, as he floated above the Imperial Palace he prepared himself to meet the emperor and introduce his new cultivation path.
Once he felt sufficiently prepared he injected a lot of pure Qi into his vocal cords, removed the technique that hides the glow of his soul, and he even transformed some of the Qi around him into Light attribute Qi as he yelled out in a voice as loud as thunder "A DEITY ARRIVES TO DELIVER THE DECREE OF THE HEAVENS!".
His voice echoed like thunder and the glow around his body spread out like a new sun in the sky as he descended onto the city. The eyes of all the people in the first, second, and even the third ring were fixated on the glowing figure descending from the sky.

After the people in the city heard that voice, every single person in the city bowed towards him as he descended towards the palace of the emperor, and even occasional shouts and cries could be heard of "The Guardian God descended!" and even "Another prosperous age is coming!".
Everybody regarded his reappearance as a good omen of another prosperous age coming for the human race and that couldn't help but put a smile on his face.
As he landed outside of the palace of the emperor, his entire body stopped glowing, but still, from behind his head a golden halo still shined, displaying his progress on the path to enlightenment.
Huang Xue, also known as the emperor was even more shocked, he didn't even truly believe in the Guardian God as he regarded him as the way for his weak father to remain in control despite his low talent and the fact he was a cripple.
Huang Xue always despised the fact that his father was weak and a cripple, as even though Wang Wei's actions started to change how cripples were regarded, such a deep sentiment in society was truly hard to change.
And even though he chose a cripple as his representative, many people were still very dissatisfied that he could rule, but even though they were dissatisfied, the Immortal Protectors were also the ones who witnessed Wang Wei's powers and truly regarded Huang Dian as the Wang Wei's representative.
Since that was the case, they didn't dare to act against him and even protected him from his enemies, and it was only through their help that he wasn't overthrown and even managed to reign for his entire life.
However, Huang Xue wasn't the representative of the guardian god as his father was and even though he didn't believe that a guardian god truly existed he still didn't dare to claim that he was the god's representative like his father just in case it turned to be true.
And even though he was strong, he hasn't yet achieved the Blood-Exchange realm, as such his authority was being constantly challenged by the Immortal Protectors and Huang Xue even heard rumors that they were planning a coup.
So even though Huang Xue was shocked at first, his shock then turned into nervousness, as he quickly hurried out to meet Wang Wei, and with his speed at the Organ-Tempering realm, he arrived where Wang Wei landed at the same time as the other Grand Protectors and Immortal Protectors.
As soon as Huang Xue saw Wang Wei, he immediately dropped to his knees and said "The humble son of the deity's representative greets deity!", as Wang Wei was aware of the situation within the city he wasn't surprised at all with what Huang Xue was trying to do and having the emperor under his thumb will be very useful.
Therefore he immediately replied, "I believe that my previous representative chose you as their successor, didn't he?", Huang Xue was very happy with what Wang Wei said and he replied very quickly "What the diety said is correct!".
Wang Wei then said, "Good then, you shall be my next representative, when you die you shall choose your successor after all mortal lifetimes really are too short!" Wang Wei replied nonchalantly.
"It would be my honor to serve this deity! However, I won't need to choose my successor at all, as I am about to become Immortal!" of course Huang Xue wouldn't miss the opportunity to brag in front of the Immortal Protectors and Wang Wei.
After hearing that Wang Wei burst into laughter that reverberated around the city after he finished laughing he told them with a mocking tone "You think that being in the Blood-Exchange realm makes you immortal? You dare claim to be an Immortal while only being in the Blood-Exchange realm!".
After hearing that all of the minds of the cultivators that have arrived went blank. After all, as far as they knew the Blood-Exchange realm was the peak of cultivation known to all cultivators and hearing it being described with the word "mere" was truly shocking to them.

Who will gain strength and who’ll leave with trauma? Find out on this week’s episode of the Species Tournament! ................................................................................................... Additional notes (for those who want more details before giving the novel a try): - It’s a battle royale type of setting between humans, pixies, elves, and dwarves organized by a Television Channel from the Demon World. - The MC foolishly decides to join the competition and will struggle to redeem himself throughout the story. The unfolding events will force him and his friends to mature in different ways. - Each round will be held in a different location/planet. The rounds and the locations will become crazier as the plot progresses. - There will be a mystery aspect to the story, since the demons don’t really like spoon feeding contestants on what is going on. - You can expect some magic elements, though contestants won't have much access to them. - The members of each species will have their own unique worlds, back-stories, motivations, and traits. Some will fight for personal reasons while others for the sake of their people. The needs of many vs. the needs of the individual will clash on several occasions. - Finally, there will be twists and turns at every corner, so one should never get too comfortable. Thanks in advance to all who read my story, and I’d love to hear your thoughts on it!

The Cyclical Nature of Time
A girl’s life ends unexpectedly early, or so it would seem. Instead of eternal nothingness, she wakes up in an empty valley with no clue how she got there. Taking her predicament in stride, she sets out to do something about it. Unfortunately for her, the first couple of people she meets aren’t much help. They claim they haven’t heard of electricity and dress as if they were on a break from their job at a Viking-themed amusement park. MC is a somewhat normal girl. She's pragmatic and not very angsty. The story is tagged with anti-hero, but to be clear, she is not a villain. She does good if she can, she just isn't morally motivated to do so. The story starts out smelling of fantasy but will eventually shift towards sci-fi. It contains some supernatural elements and has a strong lead, but it is not your usual power trip. Expect a story that takes its time, but not to the point where entire chapters are spent on mindless chit-chat. I’m not into that. This is my first serious attempt at writing and I've learnt a lot writing this. Unfortunately, that shows. Chapter 1-10 is slow and rather pointless. Things get better, but it is not until chapter 25 or so that I began understanding how to structure chapters and to make them support the larger story. I publish about 3000 words a week (every sunday) but I write about 10000 words a week. Sticking to that pace, which is easy, the last chapter will be out by July.
