Chapter ten
This super soft nacho chip acted like it was at a life and death struggle to hold up the dip. Not to mention make the journey over Lily's shoulder and into my mouth. I am utterly sure that lily was tired of getting nacho dripped onto her but I was hungry. She was lazy and didn't want to move after such an exciting midday nap.
"How about we move the bowl to you?" She grabbed the bowl with a lot more aggressiveness than was required.
Grabbing the bowl, I sat up and turned my full attention back to the master chef. Joe was a bloody badass the way he always said what he felt but with gentleness. He made Ramsey seem kind of boorish.
I finger licked the bowl and turned to Lily who had made her way over to her pc. I guess cuddle time was over. Still hungry as orphans in poor country, I grabbed my trash and empty nacho bowl and stalked the kitchen.
I let out a huge sigh as Jade came running into the house. I have to remember to lock that damn door.
"In the kitchen!" I yelled out as I popped open the fridge.
Jade had an anger in those heel to toe steps. It made me wonder what really set her off and did I really want to deal with it. Maybe I should use the, I am just 18, card.
"One of the shifters is raping girls. You need to do something about it!" She jab her finger at the poor island.
"Jake or Zach? Or is it someone on the enforcers squad that I didn't mention?" I asked while grabbing ribs from raptor.
"It is one of the old enforcers. Apparently, he thinks he can be like the other alpha males and you and rack up pussy count but no shifter would give him time of day and he chose the regular humans instead. Now we have some shifters and people protesting in the town hall because Jake ain't doing shit about it."
"Oh? It's one of Jake's boys? Then go find him and beat him up like you guys do to me." I rinsed the meat and prepped it for marinating.
She slapped the table in a fit of rage that was really beneath her. "Lon, this is serious."
"Honestly, Jake is a pretty good guy even though he is from a cartel. If I had to rate his moral compass, it is higher than mine by a long shot. So if he didn't really flinch at such accusations then it means that the guy probably found some pussy who thought they would get turned or better yet. Thought his dick would be good but it's trash. Unless you have video evidence or proof that he slapped a bitch and took off her clothes, I'm not wanting to deal with such drama."
"I thought you were better than that." She turned to leave with a disgusted look on her face.
"You mean like how you guys use me to beautify yourselves? Thinking that the pussy you are giving out equates my dignity with having no choice but to please my close confidante? Or how about I give you guys the privilege to manage your own types but constantly come to me for these simple problems? I appreciate your hypocrisy. I really do."
I had not bothered looking up from my task but the scent and sound all led me to know how upset she was. Which was a real issue. Like I wish books had it right on shifters but that was hardly true.

All shifters had their hearts on their sleeves. Everything a person did could display some type of emotion. Like how I knew just from the way someone put one foot in front of the other, what type of mood they were in. At the same time, it was hard to hide your lust for someone.
Instead of being synthetic, it was best to be honest about your feelings to yourself. Which is why I was going to have to go intervene in this tuff war. After all, picking a top dog out of a group of people was hard. Every group would feel like they weren't being represented. So I thought I was being smart by splitting it by group.
Canines, which were wolves, dogs, foxes, and so on. Birds, felines, and that shit I didn't have a name for. It works well and keeps people from hitting me with a lot of minor things. Even lower the expectations that I had to sleep with every available pussy out there. Yes, some people thought that.
I set the ribs in the fridge and went to shower and change. Taking my precious time to get to the town center where I just knew that a fight was imminent.
LOL!
More than three hundred seats had someone in front of it while on stage, all five of my alphas were arguing. Jake was honestly outnumbered with two girls being mma fighters and the third was unknown. While Zach was neutral and Tony the shark was ever so ready for a confrontation.
I clapped once and it echoed until I stepped on stage and took my seat on the throne.
"Bring up the victims and the guy who is accused." I said simply so that I could knock all this out before my stomach growled.
"By the way, why is this loli on my stage?" My eyes stared at the woman who resembled a board of wood.
Evie frowned, "can we talk about this later?"
"No."
"She is the dragon you asked about the other day."
"And she is on the stage why?"
"She brought over a group of dragons and drakes. So we elected her to oversee them."
"But why is she on my stage?"
Zach raised his hand with a smile. "I think they wish to challenge your authority. Maybe it's time to remind everybody why we chose to follow you."
I kicked my feet up while looking at the three skinny girls that I honestly wouldn't have bothered to talk to on normal occasions. If they look half as decent as Tori then I would have understood. Even i feel a type of way when she walks. Or even the ebony goddess, if you could not get her attention, then I couldn't blame you for the thoughts. That wasn't me admitting to supporting rapists, just saying that I understood what went through their minds at the moment of decisiveness.
The guy wasn't hot as the shifter gene doesn't turn you into a hottie. It can make you buffer but if you weren't good looking then you aren't going to get better looking after.
Yet, he wasn't ugly to the point he needed to rape someone. He could totally pick up girls better looking than these three.
"Okay, do you have a wife, a girlfriend, or a friend with benefits that I can compare with the victims?" I couldn't help asking.
Jade stood up, "what does that have to do with him raping them?"
"Please sit down and don't make me ask twice." I motioned for the rapist to go ahead.

He turned and looked at a woman who sat alone but she was similar to a small statue. A little hotter than the three vics. She had a nice rack but lacked an ass. Plus two adorable looking boys that were probably bad as fuck.
"Jack, why don't you think he raped these three women?"
Jack pointed at the woman sitting with her two kids. "If I was going to cheat on her, it would definitely have to be an upgrade and more aggressive personality. That lady is a perfect wife if not a bit submissive. While those three smell like club women. Look at Anthony and tell me if he is desperate enough to lower his standards three times for an average pussy?"
I honestly agreed with his assessment. Take me for example, my first real relationship was Sabrina. Anybody less than her, I never even looked at twice. That Ebony goddess, I was more than willing to sneak some looks or do more if offered. But to rape less than her? No, I can't. Pussy is guaranteed at home.
I turned to Tony, "what about you?"
"Honestly, I feel the same way as Jake. I wouldn't downgrade from my wife to someone like them. No offense to you girls but if you were someone like Beyonce or Evie here, yeah I might harbor such thoughts. But there are so many better looking women looking to test out what a shifter is like in bed that my subordinates are tired of outside pussy. I just don't see the need for club pussy that smell like a club bathroom."
I looked at Zach who chicken out then to the new girl. "After you give your opinion, get the fuck off my stage."
The woman raised her eyebrow but stood up and walked down. She walked up to the rapist and sniffed him before simply saying. "Their scent is on him."
I waved my hand and turned to the rapist. "My question is, with a wife like that at home. Why did you fuck trash like this? Even as much of whore as I am, I didn't even fuck the one on the left. Why would you stick your dick in that with the smell so prominent?"
The man blushed, "truth.. I went with some high school buddies who are human to that club. We got drunk enough that we walked to a hotel. I don't remember sleeping with them but I could smell that I did. I know I didn't rape them though as I haven't even touched anyone other than my wife since becoming a shifter."
"Just because you didn't cheat before didn't mean you didn't now. Since you admit you slept with them and don't remember it…"
I interrupted jade and walked over to him. I slapped my hand on his forehead and delved into his memories. I watched the entire night of him hanging out with his friends. Him passing out on the hotel room floor and then waking up to three girls in his bed with bruises. I saw how polite he was to call cops and even waited there to explain what he remembered.
I looked at the girls and sighed, "I know his story and the truth. So I am not going to ask more than once. Did he rape you?"
All three of course said yes without any hesitation. I turned to Jade with a smirk.
"Jade, do you think I would cover down on someone guilty of a crime?"
She shook her head, "no."
"Do you think I would lie because I am superior to the vast majority of you?"
"No."
"What about you, Evie?"
"No."
"Where is the Mayor?" I looked around and noticed him hanging out in the back, talking with a mage.
He frowned and stood up, "I am here and I concur. You won't take advantage of anybody when Justice is concerned."
"Okay, he's not guilty. Thanks for wasting my time with tv drama plot but he was set up by his so-called friends. He was so drunk that he passed out the moment he entered his hotel room, not even making it to the bed. When he woke up, he was in bed with these three drapes across him. However, it's not hard to sleep with an unconscious shifter. Am I right, Jade?"
She gritted her teeth and nodded. "Indeed."
"Anybody wish to contest my verdict?" I looked around but the crowd was already Grumbling about lies.
"Since that is the case, he is not guilty, and free to go. Everybody else is free to pitch forth any complaints they might have not related to this boring incident."
Someone in the crowd stood up and pointed at the three girls who I had ignored. "What about them?"
I mean, they were embarrassed enough. Insulted and even had their reputation tarnish, did they need a bigger punishment than that?
"What about them?"
"Shouldn't they be punished?"
"Why?"
"They lied and set up a good man for fame and money. What if he was sentenced to death? How would his wife and kids feel?"
"Oh? I don't think further punishment is necessary. Unlike regular courts, I can actually see your memories. Thus he was always going to end up innocent if innocent. As for them? Didn't they get their ass whoop? And then insulted by men before everybody? What more of a punishment are you asking for, from pawns?" I raised my eyebrow while walking back up to the stage.
The girls sighed and escaped while the guy really wanted to continue but I started in on jade.
"Don't you owe me an apology? How about stopping by tonight for dinner and some sparring?" I leaned against the desk as I stared into Jade grey eyes.
She rolled her eyes, "apologized for what?"
"So dinner or nah?"
"Fine."
I chuckled while turning to Evie, "you promoted a weak dragon as alpha, huh?"
Not waiting for her reply, I walked away. The dragon loli ran to catch up to me.
"I apologize, if I had known, I wouldn't have said yes. But my people are used to me leading."
"Mm."
Her steps faltered and I hop into my car without another word. Cranking the ignition with a swift press of the button.
"Will this become an issue, if so my people and I can leave."
"You do you." I drove off and prepared for dinner but what ended up happening. Like most times, people came to interrupt. This time Zach and his mundane lover. Followed by Evie and the dragon loli. Followed by Jade and her wife, a slender brunette with curves as graceful as a swan.
"How can I help you fellows?" I closed the grill and turned to the crowd.
"She wanted to talk to you on behalf of the government." Zach started off the show.
The Director opened her mouth but I held up a hand. "No, we aren't going to throw away our lives fighting on behalf of the government. No, I don't feel a sense of responsibility to anybody but to the Black Dragon Valley. Yes, I don't find the deaths of the people a problem."
The Director frowned but said nothing. Zach could only put out. "I am willing to lead a team of volunteers to assist and rescue people."
I shrugged, "you think with that bit of success we had that you are capable of defeating these creatures? I know, you misjudge the strength and capabilities of these creatures who subtly look weak and unassuming."
Opening the grill, I flipped the ribs as I continued. "I lived in that world for some time and fought against some creatures that without the magical capabilities I have, would have taken my life. There are some I had no choice but to flee from. Others, I only beat on the brink of death. Yet, you want to go fight against tens of thousands equally deadly me's with just volunteers? How badass!"
Zach's nose flared but he backed down. However, Evie had to contest me in everything.
"You can't keep us locked in here because you are scared of death. At least allow us to learn and make mistakes without shutting down our principles."
"Sounds like someone already on thin ice. If I didn't know better but other than fighting in a ring, you don't have a specialty? When did you gain so much wisdom to make so many big kids' decisions?"
"Is this how you are going to start an honest conversation, With these childish insults?"
"Yes, unless you want to fight?"
"Why would I be scared of a fight?"
I pointed at a small area free of clutter, while stepping into the impromptu ring. Evie smirked and jumped in only to fly out when I roundhouse kicked her.
Walking oh so proudly to my grill, I polish a knife while looking at the sleeping beauty. Couple seconds later, she slowly got up.
"You cheap spotted me?"
"Did i?"
I did but I didn't. My body has fully integrated with my dragon self, plus that time in the other world increased my overall attributes. I wasn't the same slow cannon fodder.
Jade helped Evie up with a pity smile, "he waited until you were feet down in the ring before attacking. You are no longer his match."
Evie could only frown as she walked away. The loli followed her and I turned to Willow, jade's wife. "Sorry about that bit of drama. Please take a seat, my other uninvited guest is about to leave."
Zach took a deep breath, "what do I need to do to offer my help?"
"Zach, I know you like her but is she worth your life or your ex-compatriots? If you are thinking yes, then go live in the other world for a week. Just a tiny week and I won't say another word."
He nodded and left with such determination that I was already thinking about replacing him when he died.
