The host has fully recovered
A sharp intake of air was forcefully shoved down my throat.
Cough!
Cough!
I gasped and sat up in shock
I looked around, nothing seemed out of place...excluding the destruction and fire.
My whole body throbbed and stung.
"Fully recovered my ass..." I mumbled under my breath.
[Quest]: Survive in the [New world] for 2 days. This [Quest] has been completed.
I analyzed the message with anticipation.
"Wait for a second...has it been 2 days?!"
[Reward]: Selection between [Sword] [Spear] and [Bow and arrow]
"Anyway...this is cool...what should I choose?... I think I should go with-"
[Bonus] option has been unlocked for host due to [Martial arts] skill! The user has the chance to evolve [Martial arts] skill into [Combat Specialist].
After reading the new message I didn't even hesitate to choose the [Bonus].
I mean... it's a once-in-a-lifetime chance...I think. Plus my skill is going through a [evolution]! Most times that means that it's getting improved, and it was already helpful.
And somehow I feel that the weapons are not going to live up to my expectations...and even if they do this is an era where there are literal guns, tanks, and nukes. I don't think they will be extremely useful.
The moment I choose, a library's worth of combat information is driven into me.
[Combat Specialist]
[Passive skill]:
The host has an instinctively understanding of combat and innate encyclopedic knowledge in hand-to-hand fighting styles; therefore understanding and analyzing the opponent's style of combat and flaws in the opponent's attack and defense. They can use the strength of the opponent in their favor.
The host has an incredible perception of opponents and the users surrounding areas using it to his advantage and can copy or mix several types of martial arts and movements and understand how an attack works in a matter of minutes. This power can be enhanced by the user's experience and improvement of skill.

"ARRRRAAAAGH!"
I scream out in agony. My muscles twitch and are fed new types of muscle memory. My brain is overloaded with an unprecedented amount of information. Sirens sounding like nails on a chalkboard resound from every corner of my brain. The torture lasts for what feels like weeks.
And finally... it stops.
HACK!
HACK!
HACK!
I was gasping for air on the ground in pain. It took me several minutes after it stopped to calm down.
Instantly everything went dark. A light coming from the sky cast a circle spanning 3 meters around me.
I...I can see.
I can see!
In the 3 meters circle around me, I can "see" perfectly clearly. Every detail. Every grain of stone on the ground. I could feel the gas in the air, and the heat radiating around me. It was like all my 5 senses were added together into one-sixth sense.
So this is what it means by "the host has an incredible perception of opponents and the users surrounding areas".
I try casting my "gaze" further away, but it soon becomes blurry like looking through a thin wall of translucent glass and beyond 5 meters it becomes undetectable and I have to rely on my sight.
"Okay...I think maybe...just maybe...it was worth the pain."
Due to the [Combat Specialist] skill, the host has learned a new skill: [Energy Strike]
"It was definitely worth it."

Again from Scratch Saga: Izmittor Unchained
If someone precious to you needed your help, would you extend it? Would you still do it if it costs you your peace and perhaps even your life? For Tercius, a man mysteriously reborn nearly thirteen years ago, there was only one answer to both questions. Feeling compelled, he sets out to journey to the northern Sogea and its infamous Western Izmittor mountain range, a natural stronghold of sky tearing mountains and deep canyons. Legends about the place abounded, but he knew without a doubt that the hidden valleys, rushing rivers, thick forests, and desolate landscapes hid powerful predators, the likes of which stalk the harsh terrains for an easy source of meat and bones. The many natural dangers of Western Izmittor would be hard enough to navigate safely for a lone traveler, but to make matters worse Tercius had enemies in the heights of Western Izmittor, humans and spirits who would see him dead if they ever learned of his true connection to the Pyramid of Tergaron and the Society of the Magi. To make things even more difficult, he also had to ensure that the true extent of his own Innate Skills remained hidden, for if the prying eyes of the world fell on him and his many secrets came to light, then he would never again know a day of peace. Can one reborn man manage to keep his secrets and still succeed in doing what his conscience compels him to? Will he have to choose one over the other? And can he do any of it without reigniting the sparks of a planetary war the likes of which had not been seen in millennia? Follow Tercius’ story and find out! *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** This story is a continuation of Again from Scratch, a story of mine also posted on RR. Reading it is NOT necessary to read this story, but for anyone who wants to get a little bit more background, here is a link: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/38803/again-from-scratch Again from Scratch was my first journey into writing and I have taken all I learned from that and started writing Again from Scratch Saga, a continuation that is almost stand alone. Tales of the 33rd universe - A Mech Designer story
Meet Marcus Caelum, since young he wanted nothing else to play with mechs. He studied, worked hard and he finally did it, now he is a Mech Designer (provisional). He achieved his dream and now is the time for realization, he now will learn that not all is great, that there are things to learn and that if he wants to do the job well he better adapt. Cover taken from a Battletech manual. This is my "first" novel so do forgive the quality a bit.It is mostly a Slice of life following what I believe a Mech Designer life would be. It will have action, science, comedy, dark moments and some adventure. It will barely have any romance and little actual combat (he won't go off fighting enemies everywhere, the MC is not a fighter). It's medium sci-fi, most hard science with some mana altering normal materials. The pacing is a bit slow, it takes some time for the story to advance. The first arc is completed and the novel is until further notice on HIATUS.I may continue the Tales of the 47th Universe to try my hand at another style and pacing. More info in chapter 22.
