Chapter 12 - The Spending
The third box received far less attention than the others, among the most prestigious characters in the audience only Master Dao Imprinter and the Desolate Tribulation Sect elder were willing to seriously bid for it.
In the end “60 commander crystals” it was master dao imprinter again. The elder smiled and stayed silent, his evaluation of this secretive Dao Imprinter was rising yet again. He didn’t mind if he took the box, this could be considered the two creating further good karmic ties.
Lady Fatal Moon revealed the inside of each box in order to identify who had been the winner among the three young geniuses. The last one contained an ominous bone, it seemed to be originating from an ancient creature. “The Lineage that has commissioned these 3 wooden boat shaped boxes is a very ancient and now declining sect, which is in desperate need of resources. There is no doubt this ancient bone is terrific, although its uses are unknown. The overall sum spent to obtain it, in our opinion, is very underestimating its actual value. Our Pavilion sincerely compliments Master Dao Imprinter for his vision and great perception”.
Many experts were drooling and regretting to not have invested more in the right box, while also in awe for the skills of this Master Dao Imprinter. Not only the laws in his Dao Imprints were amazing, his perception was tremendous too.
Although the two prodigies were dissatisfied for not gaining the bone, they could accept to have been beaten in a perception competition from a Master Dao Imprinter, whose job is not fighting but working with laws and items. Losing to each other would have been far more humiliating, so they were even kinda glad for the winner being someone else with an entirely different specialisation.
After the special event the second part of the auction took place, during which almost every big character managed to win the bidding for a precious object.

The elder of the Desert Tribulation Sect obtained a set of very rare and precious crystals, useful to nurture the Mind Eye and empowering its ability to defend the mind. The Earth Dragon Sect prince successfully bid for a mysterious banner that could help the perceiving process of laws. The Royal Noble finally managed to buy a high grade spear perfectly matching his fighting style, while the Southern general won a set of shields to empower a defensive formation. The Bloody Moon Sect sectmaster gained a sacred aqua that would purify the impurities in the cultivators dantian region and meridians, solidifying their cultivation. Heavenly Edict sectmaster won a set of Starry Night Flower buds, greatly beneficial for increasing cultivation of Knight experts. The Sharp Leaves general bought a banner that had a great fit with her defensive formation and the Crimson Sky Prince got a Scythe for one of his companions and a Scorching Heaven Pill, a pill which would significantly hasten the cultivation process of fire based arts. Finally Lady Fate Destroyer bought for her Devil Slaying Sect three Dragon Soul Pills, very beneficial for geniuses at the Captain stage.
“Here we come to the second-last item of this bewildering auction. The item is a Surging Tribulation Pill, also known as the Prodigy Pill. Its performance is huge, if a cultivator manages to perfectly convey its surging energy he would more effectively and quickly form the chi core in the dantian region. The chi core would also be of a larger size!”.
Although Fatal Moon’s sweet presentation, not too much enthusiasm was shown for this Surging Tribulation Pill. The formation of a chi core was needed to break through the knight stage and its initial size would influence the cultivator’s future achievements. The characteristics of the pill were truly astonishing and the power it could generate incredible, but that’s the exact problem. It was incredibly difficult and dangerous for a Soldier cultivator to manage all that power, so it was usually diluted and a great part of its power would end up wasted. It was called the Prodigy Pill because only the most talented geniuses of a generation could control a decent amount of its surging power. Additionally, the majority of the sects waited for disciples to enter the knight stage before choosing the ones to groom with higher care. Thus, the actual value of the pill was far less than its potential.

Besides these drawbacks, some organisations and powerful experts had highly talented disciples or relatives they were willing to walk the extra mile for.
The auction began with a starting price of 80 commander crystals which quickly ballooned. Potentially this pill was a legendary item, if one could maximise its surging power his cultivation would soar, giving him a huge boast in the future. “200!” Sharp Leaves General declared. Her little sister was a prodigy of the Thriving Forest Tribe and she was bent on grooming her in an astounding expert.
“250” Master Dao Imprinter stated. For Falven this pill had great significance, he was resolute to obtain it and he was also convinced that no young prodigy in this world could leverage the pill potential as efficiently as him. He may even manage to not waste a single drop of its surging energy.
“300”, “350”, “400”. The general had to take some time to reflect about this, was the pill really worth so much? Actually its true value would change depending on the prodigy who uses it, but was her sister really capable of using a so big percentage if its power? If not, it would be more convenient to purchase other resources, the question was wether these resources were available or not. “420 commander crystals” she finally announced.
“491 commander crystals. This is everything I have left, I really hope to obtain the pill, but if you’re willing to bid more I can only accept my loss and let it go”.
The general pondered the situation and then proposed “In the future, If I provide you with high quality materials, would you be willing to sell me at an affordable price the best Dao Imprint you can make? If it is so, I don’t need to ponder this issue anymore”. “I can promise I’ll make you a Dao Imprint no one else can do. I guarantee you won’t suffer a loss and the work will be up to my standard. The price will be one you can afford, a friendly one”.
The general was ecstatic, not only she left the bidding competition without losing face, but she had also won a promise by Master Dao Imprinter, a huge success. “Very well, I completely trust Master Dao Imprinter word, let this bidding competition end here, the Surging Tribulation Pill goes to him”.
Falven was satisfied with the result. He knew she was strict on her budget, but gaining a potential powerful ally was crucial to his future business. Even if her talents were not excellent for his standards, no expert would ever consider them bad.
The auction ended with the Thunderous Royal Long Sword, the last object to be auctioned, obtained by the elder of Desolate Tribulation Desert for 30 admiral crystals.
It was time for Falven to enjoy the profits of his hard work and finally commence his rise, up to the Heavens!

A Crone's Trade
Latgalay lusts for beauty, power. When her tribe’s raid is repulsed, and when a wizard counter attacks, Latgalay seizes power. But there is a cost: her soul. Setting is in an alternate reality during the Roman incursion of Britania. Latgalay is from an embellished tribe of Picts, there are Spirits, Magic, and some pretty dark shit. I wrote this one back in 2015, when I was in a completely different headspace. Like, seriously. Dark. I've gone through and edited some of the worst of it out, but the tone is still there.

Small Pond
In a world without systems, levels, or any standard power levels, Faust is a naturally skeptical person who always asks questions first and accepts after he gets confirmation. A lot of it. With some information unknown to the reader, represented as [?], Faust is left to discover who kidnapped him, where he is, if magic exists, and what to do while the reader silently observes him. And as for the YOU dear reader, I'll need your help choosing some things... Small Pond isn't meant to be a high-paced action light novel, but instead, there's a greater focus on world and character building in order to create a greater narrative. Expect the unexpected in this story ;) The release schedule will be paused, for now, I'm going to try and spend some time rethinking the intro and work on school. The Czarina's Buccaneer
RELEASES EVERY MONDAY AT 18:30 CST ----- After suffering the torments of slavery, the destruction of his nation, and the massacre of his band of brothers, Rodion Kazansky craves revenge and yearns for the freedom owed to him as a proud Cossack. A lost horse and a chance meeting with the Catherine the Great set him off on a journey that will take him from the steppes of the Crimea to the beaches of the Gold Coast of Africa and back again. There he will face British slavers, pirates, and the ghosts of his past to become the bane of his enemies as the Czarina's Buccaneer. ----- DISCLAIMER: This novel acknowledges the fact that the Cossacks, and the Ukrainian people by extension, are unique and not simply a "different variety of Russians." The main character views the Russians as "moskal foreigners" and does not see himself as one. This also acknowledges the fact that the czarina deprived many of the Cossacks of their freedom, something that the main character resents.
