"Get your Bread fresh out the oven over here"
It was a sunny morning the ripe time for buisness as merchants can be seen shouting out to customers to buy their wares. A Middle Aged man could be seen advertising his wares to the people around him as they passed by his bread stand.
A Young impoverished teen could be seen sneaking up behind the man as he was distracted.
He inched closer and closer till he was within arm distance of the mans baked Goods. Not missing the opportunity, the teen leaped towards the six loafs of bread on the mans stand. However before he could grab his prize the man noticed him and gave the teen a hard slap to the face knocking him back.
**Smack**
"You little shits, coming around to steal my food again" the man bellowed with anger.
The Young teen fell to the ground with a whimper as he scrambled away in a panick bumping into the pedestrians walking by. The teen kept his face low as he ran hiding his face which hid a Nefarious smile.
The angered man watched the young teen run for his life filled with disdain.
"Damn these rodents always moving around like rats in this place of buisness" he scoffed.
But soon his expression changed when he noticed he was missing two loafs of bread on his counter. The man looked towards the people passing by quick enough to spot another teen making his escape through the crowds. The man Realizing the two teens were working in tandem chased the teen through the crowds until he lost him in a back alley. But thankfully enough he spotted two patrolling guards walking by as he called out to them.
"Guards! Guards! Catch those rodent thieves!!" the man yelled towards the two patrolling guards in the distance.

Hearing the mans yell two men in full bronze armor approached him to assess the situation.
"Merchant. Where are these thieves you speak of" the 1st Guard asked.
"He ran to the back alley, Sir Guard" the man answered with haste.
"There are two of them Sir Guards, for one distractred me while the other stole my goods" the man explained.
"Can you give me a description of these thieves" the 1st Guard asked.
"They are two rodents of the Divinus Church Orphanage, Sir Guard" the merchant Answered.
"I see merchant, it seems we didn't kill them all back then during the raid. Do not worry we will reclaim your goods along with these thieves heads" the 1st Guard assured.
"No one steals in the Kingdom of Ortus and expect a good ending" the 2nd Guard said coldly.
And with that the two warriors scoured the red houses made from cinnabar in the Peasants Quarter. The houses have been there since the founding of the city and took up a fifth of its area, housing all the peasants. The two guard searched house to house from morning till noon, but in the end could not find a trace of the thieves.
"DAMMIT! We need more men if we are to check all the peasant houses in the Quarter" the 2nd Guard said hitting a wall with frustration.
"We must report this to the Squad Leader " the 1st Guard advised.
"I agree. This is the Third report of thieves today and it seems its getting out of hand" the 2nd Guard sighed.
"There have been a lot of cases of thievery around these parts nowadays" the 1st guard added.
"Lets go, they are not here anymore" the 2nd Guard Said.
But unbeknownst to them the two thieves they were searching for were watching their actions through the window of an old two story house in the Peasant Quarter across from them. The house showed signs of deterioration with cracks and holes covering the a big portion. One of the thieves was a tanned skinny kid with silver hair along with a scar running down his right cheek giving him a serious look, which he received from a merchant he stole from when he was little. While the other thief was also just as skinny with a darker brown skin and black hair along with strange tattoos covering up most of his face. Both of them wore rags for clothes covering their skinny physiques.

"This was a close one Edgar" the black haired thief exclaimed.
"They are getting closer to our hideout" the silver haired thief named Edgar replied.
"We should find a new hideout Edgar. This place will be found soon enough if we continue to stay here. Then we can lay low for a while and let the search pass over. We got enough food to last us a couple days" the black haired thief Suggested.
"No. We need all these food and some more if were planning to travel all the way to Pell Maynard" Edgar Rebuked.
"But if we stay here we'll get caught Edgar" Maynard Insisted.
"It cant be helped we can't move all our food for the trip without being noticed by the patrols. We need to get out of this rotten kingdom if we ever hope to make something of ourself" Edgar said looking seriously at Maynard.
"But.......ahgh Damn it......fine whatever you say" Maynard relented.
"Dont worry, just two more steals and were set for our trip, then we can leave this place" Edgar assured.
Having come to an agreement the two boys set out to search for any good scores they can get; however not knowing of the dangers that loomed ever closer. At the same time the Squad leader having been informed by the two Bronze armored warriors of the recent robbery incidents was giving his reports for the day to their Gate Commander. The Commander was a well known Titled Knight around these parts known as the 'Iron Clad' Joseph Clad. He was a robust man towering above others with fiery red spiky hair and scars covering his face indicating his years of service in the military. He wore a Silver Full Body armor with gems on his knuckles and joints along with the Tabard of the Order of Ortus, an Organization of well known Knights in the Kingdom of Ortus.
"Commander Clad there have been many robberies of the Merchant stands in the Merchants Quarter of late" the Squad Leader Reported.
"I see. Well have you identified these thiefs?" the Commander questioned.
"They are likely two impoverish peasants around the ages of 13-15 Sir" the Squad Leader Answered.
"Then how come you haven't taken care of this issue yet Squad Leader Gray!" Commander Clad Yelled.
"I..I.. I Understand Sir" Squad Leader Gray Panicked.
"They better be dead by tomorrow or else I'll have your head!!!" Commander Clad Demanded.
"You got that Gray?" Commander Clad asked menacingly.
"Completely...Sir" Squad Leader Gray Answered covered in sweat.
Having been given his task Squad Leader Gray rounded up a platoon of troops to comb through all the houses of the Peasant Quarter during the night. They went from house to house searching for the thieves until they came upon the two story old building.

WARNINGS:-Yes, this contains LitRPG elements after a slow start, promise.-This work is incredibly Slice-of-Life heavy-Also conversation heavy-Also plot heavy (But not in that way, unfortunately)-The pacing in terms of plot is slow -(Edit after a review)- This story is also known as: I honestly don't understand what's the difference between "light" and "dark" stories. I realized that far too late, so this story is... weird. It might be light at times, and dark at times, and in all honesty, definitely has dark undertones. Oh, and prepare to be disappointed or pleased by this story; I understand that this story is polarizing, at least. Cover made by: Fei (@Chippy03966650) / Twitter

Making a difference
Harry Potter FanFiction: Hannah Longbottom liked to watch the people who entered the Wizarding World via the small, walled courtyard behind the Leaky Cauldron for a reason: During her not so long life, she had learned about three different boys who had entered the Wizarding World alone, leaving behind a life so horrible she could barely imagine. One of them, who became a friend of hers, had gone through great hardships to become a hero, one of the greatest wizards the Wizarding World had ever seen. One of them, who had been her teacher, had become cold and bitter, and no one had ever recognized what amazing talents he could have offered, until it had been too late. One of them, the monster she had helped to fight during the Battle of Hogwarts, had become the most dreaded, most dangerous, and most deadly man Great Britain had ever seen, and yet it could have all been different, if someone had just tried to make that difference early enough in that life, if he had not boarded the train to Hogwarts all alone. Already posted at Devianart and AO3, I've included a link to RoyalRoad on my profiles there.
