《There's a Smartphone in my Dantian》Chapter-6 "Right Step At Wrong Time."

The question was, Green wanted to learn this new language as every new language reveals a new path but if that path shortens your life, is it worth? Of course, it is worth! Every step paid with blood and sweat ultimately leads to highest point!
And the question which needed the most common sense, how much time would it usually take for one person with no super memory or anything might take to learn any new language from scratch? One or two years just to converse his thoughts and to perfectly understand but what about the hidden thoughts and intentions behind those words? It might take years of experience with the language to fully analyses it like any native do.
But what if the fruits of all those years of hard work are available just in exchange of small part of your lifespan! Either work hard for year or two just to learn this new language while living a life full of dread or learn as quickly as possible to increase your chances to live longer.
In this world of sword and magic, no one will step out even if some passerby were killing each other. Who would remember someone who couldn’t even protect himself, he would just act as a stepping stone and the winner might forget the whole incident after day or two.
Green clicked on yes after thinking for a bit.
[0.73 years of life span will be deducted from your total lifespan of 56.9 years.]
[Yes] [No]
Green clicked on yes again decisively.

After few messages, Green started to feel as if something was happening to his vision. As if pixels of the screen blurring, the words on the carved stone in front of him started blurring while the pixels started squirming rapidly forming some words he could understand.

The content while Green could not understand before could now be understood. It was quite a surprise for even Green.

When Green almost finished reading, he felt a hand on his shoulders. When he turned back after taking his GOG Badge, he saw a man with short blonde hairs standing in front of him without any trace of expression.
“Where is your master?” The guy said.
Green was quite confused why this guy would ask this question and was it important to a master. So, Green simply replied, “What master?”
The thought of something and looked in Green’s eyes, “You are not associated to any Wizard?”
“But I was told…” But before he could complete his sentence a palm landed on his chest. Green felt as if his soul was drawn out of his body and lost his consciousness.
=====
Before Green even opened his eyes after gaining consciousness, a rotten smell assaulted his nose making him cover his nose. Just the action of raising his hand made body ache and chest burn.
When he opened his eyes, he found himself lying beside a deep hole filled with rotten corpses. Every corpse had stitch marks while covered in dried blood. Watching this sight Green was shaken.

Green looked around here and there flurried, searching if his body had any of these marks. But unfortunately, his whole right arm, his right chest and abdomen were stitched crudely covered with dried blood similar to the corpses. The only difference was, other were corpses and he was still alive fortunately.
Not knowing what had happened, there were tears in his eyes and he started to sob. His eyes were red and his breathes ragged. At the end, his situation was so worse he couldn’t even cry. Even his own tears felt like needles in his wounds and every time he took a deep breath, he felt as if his chest was torn apart.
After laying there for a while quietly, he finally stopped crying and his breaths relaxed. With a quick thought, he gave some commands to the Cortana.
When he was exploring applications, he found the application called Camera but the application was anything like cameras he had in previous world. This application recorded everything he saw and listened even while he slept like a live journal of his life.
“Cortana, show me what happened while I was unconscious.”
[Task established… sorting data…]
After the data was sorted out, a voice came to his ears as if he was listening to a music player, but instead of a song, all that came to his ears were two voices. The two voices were of two men, one sounded a bit old while another sounded quite familiar.
It was the same voice, the man who asked him ‘where was his master’.
The two men were talking about something when the old man asked, “What are you doing with this weak human?”
The other man simply answered, “Do you remember, I was researching about active energy and it’s artificial uses to give anyone ability to absorb active energy from dead and increase their potential?”
“Yeah, I do. But then what? Is this weak human of any help?” asked old man.
“Of course. When I was in my family’s Guildhall, I felt as if this human emanated some active energy in his surroundings as those creatures with high active energy to heal their injuries. You must know that these creatures are very-very-rare to be able to stimulate their active energy to heal their injuries and this human did such a thing…”
The old man understood something and nodded understandingly…

Humans Must Adapt!
Humans Must Adapt is a First Person point of view from the eyes of slightly crazy and totally not a masochist MC. The setting takes place on a copy of earth with a different name. A cataclysmic event causes the native humans to be usurped from their natural place at the top of the food chain. Time has now passed, and the Humans have managed to settle themselves into mediocrity. But this is not enough.Note: I don't plan on including sexual content. The MC won't have an end game goal right from the start. Feedback is welcomed. The MC is a Tamer.

The Paths of Magick
Credits: Story by Xcaliburnt. Cover Art by @Bervolart. Magick, the power to bend the laws of reality. All because of a mystical substance known as mana. Mages follow the Paths to achieve power, for there is no more addictive chase. Each Path winds and twists, forcing mages through the flames of adversity and challenge. Though the operative word is "path", the reality is far less straightforward. Instead of a road, Paths are like the branches of world trees, erupting into the heavens, intertwining, and ending in sharp snaps. Only the strongest reach the sky. There are several Paths, and many Ways to walk them—variations of the same Path, and like the stars, they are endless. Magick is the sacred flame that scours the fat, rendering the truest self. Superfluous flesh melting away to show the skeleton of one's being. A chance for ascension—apotheosis. Though not every mage works to godhood, if they survive long enough, It is inescapable. Witness the lives of those that tread the knife's edge of self-destruction. Each one intertwined in their search for answers, revenge, and, most of all: power. These individuals have all lost something precious—irreplaceable—and In search of filling the void left behind, they have taken up the mantle of a mage. Per aspera ad astra. Ad mortem vel divinitatis. (Through adversity to the stars. To death or divinity.) There is no consistent release schedule except my consistent inconsistency. Besides, there’s like a thousand pages worth of content, how can—you already read it? Goddamn. Oh, and there is a very long hiatus between volumes as I intend to edit and rewrite a lot. What to Expect: This story is progression fantasy, so expect a healthy dose of training. It's also heavy on slice of life, and it isn't entirely overarching-plot-driven. Expect characters to live their lives, and not always be on some quest to save the world. There's a lot of magic theory and discussion about it in the story. So, if you don't like impromptu lessons on sorcerous theory by traveling monster slayers, this might not be for you. But if you do like it, rejoice! For there is a lot of it. This is also heavy on prose, purple as a bruised eye. I use outdated, uneccesarily collegiate-level terms and play around with the writing style just for the heck of it. I find it fun to wax and wane poetic, and that might grate on you—I don’t plan to change this aspect of the Paths much if at all. Onto the viewer discretion is advised parts: This is grim-dark/ grim-heart. Take the tags seriously. There will be combat scenes that are brutal and horrifying. Fights to the death tend to be. This is a tale about medieval mercenaries (quite literal killers for hire), man-eating monsters, and eldritch gods beyond the material plane. Beside that, there will be traumatic events that are best left unread. I do not detail certain acts I find heinous enough, instead leaving some parts unwritten but still alludded to if not outright stated; there is simply no graphic narration thereof. This is not for the faint of heart.
