《The Conqueror's Black Book》Chapter Twenty Eight: Fateful Meeting

Look at what you did!" Zephyr immediately blamed Kaiser while in a bad mood.
"You are strong." Kaiser just gave a curt response.
"Of course I am! What, finally realizing my greatness now and trembling now? Don't worry, all you got to do is pay a fee and there will be no problems." Zephyr said with his nose pointing towards the sky.
"How did you escape my illusory realm?" Kaiser finally gave a question to which Zephyr chuckled in reply.
"Hehe, of course I destroyed everything there!" Zephyr said, a proud smile sported on his face.
"...!.. I see." Kaiser became quiet after that.
After thirty minutes of complete silence, they both heard footsteps and looked up, thinking it was the teacher. However, what it really was were groups of noble kids appearing in tandem, with the leader of them being the boy Zephyr beat up, a nine year old boy named Edward.
"Well, well, well, look at what a mess you've made, its only right we help huh? Hehe, attack!" He soon charged forward ready to give a great kick, fully ready to break Zephyr's face but he couldn't get his wish.
Shelly appeared from above the tree they were buried under and immediately threw a left counter which knocked Edward out cold.
A flashing light released by Kaiser a while ago put the other boys in a state of no movement which made it easy for Shelly to break them down. A right hook for each kid sent them all unconscious and after that Shelly disappeared by running toward the forests near the outskirts of the massive academy.
"Your contract beast?" Kaiser questioned.
"Yeah, like him?" Zephyr gave a grin in reply.
"And thank you for helping me out." Zephyr said his thanks, shelly might have been stronger than the kids, but he might have taken some damage.
"No need, it is just that I will repay you for that kick and I will do everything myself." Kaiser had his own pride and looked away. After another hour Linus came walking back and was surprised by the sight.
"What happened?" Surrounding the two boys underground was a crowd of unconscious boys with huge bruises on their faces as they were each laid out like starfishes.
"They tripped altogether." Zephyr gave a random excuse since he clearly couldn't be the criminal who gave them their wounds, especially since he was still underground right?
Kaiser looked away after hearing that while Linus woke up a random kid, ready to hear what happened.
"A monkey appeared and started attacking us!" The boy wasn't there for the first run in with Zephyr and thus just told Linus about how a monkey came in and beat them all to a pulp.

"What were you all doing here anyways?"
"Ugh." The boy couldn't just say they were called here to beat up a defenseless kid or it was over for him.
"They were here to beat me up teacher! Boohoo." Tears started pouring out of Zephyr as he started yelling his grievances.
"Is this true?" Linus looked towards Kaiser who nodded. With that the two boys were freed while the over ten kids were submerged.
"Wait there until a teacher discovers you as punishment." Linus was okay with giving them such a scare tactic since the afternoon would be packed with people walking around the field so they only had to wait three hours, shorter if they were loud enough.
The three then made their way back to class where they saw the rest of the kids reading books and stop what they were doing and stare at them like clowns.
It took Kaiser and Zephyr a second to figure out what the problem was, their clothes were completely muddy so they looked horrendous.
Kaiser didn't look like he cared and just walked to his desk while Zephyr cared even less, whistling as he made his way to his group.
"So what'd I miss?" He chuckled at then.
"Go sit over there!" Aqua screamed at him. He was a total clean freak and seeing Zephyr approach made him freak out.
"Fine fine, don't be such a bummer." Living with Aqua for a while, of course Zephyr knew about this quirk after living with him for a while. They unexpectedly had someone new to them appear beside them and sit by their side.
Rory was all smiles as he was talking and laughing with Simon and Magma and they looked to be good buddies. Kaiser had taken a seat behind them as only the areas around that group was free during this time and they passed the day just chatting to each other while reading the book the teacher assigned with the occasional yells to be quiet.
Afternoon class ended and while everyone else went to their dorms, Kaiser just left the academy altogether. He entered a hotel ten minutes away on foot. It was a small cozy inn that was dark dark brown and looked sturdy. After climbing the stairs and entering a room at the end of the hall, there sat an eighteen year old man sitting lazily on the couch, drinking blood red wine.
The man noticed Kaiser and gave a wide grin.
"So? How was your new school Young Master Kaiser?" The man gave a small chuckle as if he was enjoying swirling around his wine.
"It was...Interesting" a slight smile appeared behind the mask as some vigor appeared in his usually lifeless silver eyes.
"There is a boy who seems strong, my time will not be wasted."

"That's very nice. I'm glad your having fun but I have a mission that your father gave me. I won't be back for quite some time, think you can take care of yourself?" The man laughed again as his brown eyes shone, as if reflecting his happiness.
"I don't care. Do the mission Reeves." Kaiser shrugged it off and went into his own room.
"Very well, be safe.'' The man got up and bowed, disappearing with the wind.
While the duo were conversing, Zephyr had left his dorm and was walking around the school in boredom as he couldn't produce runes and decided a breath of fresh air was needed. After around twenty minutes of absentmindedly walking he noticed that he wasn't in school anymore.
"Why's this city so huge! Everytime I leave my house or academy, I get lost!." Zephyr was fuming and kept walking while his mind wandered. After another five minutes Zephyr finally heard a groan, he looked to the location of the sound and was uncomfortable when it led to a dark alleyway, especially as it was getting dark out.
Nevertheless he headed inside as the person sounded like they needed assistance and his mother always taught him to be an upstanding person.
He was shocked to discover that it was a boy in ragtag clothing. He had purple hair and maroon eyes and his clothes looked worn and torn.
Worst of all was his skin and body. He looked pasty and sickly, he completely fit the bill of malnutrition and his eyes were soulless with great bags, except for a constant fire burning in his eyes.
He had bandages all over his body that was covered in dry blood. Zephyr tried waving his hands in front of the boy's eyes but he got no response.
It was as if he could not see anything in front of him but was looking elsewhere. When Zephyr got close enough he finally heard some muffled muttering.
"Odin...Odin...Od-." Then it was stopped, the boy finally went unconscious. Fearing for the boy's wellbeing he put him on his back and ran out the alley, looking for help.
He had never been in this position before and was fully on panic mode. He finally saw a shop still out for business after exiting the long and dark alleyways and approached them.
"Mister, can you give a slice of meat and water to this boy right here, I'd pay you but I don't have money on me. Please, he's dying!" Zephyr pleaded.
"Shoo! Your bad for business. The middle aged man started shooing them away when he saw they were two boys, and one of them was sick at that!
Who would buy from his stand if a sickly boy was parading around near him, wouldn't they think it was his food? He forced Zephyr to leave and decided to peddle elsewhere in case anyone else saw him.
Zephyr concluded that was the only shop selling outside near his vicinity after running around for a bit since most places where closed. It looked like people living near the alleyways closed up early since the alleyways was an entrance for this cities slums.
Left with no alternative Zephyr found another area close by and set the boy down. He summoned his black book and summoned his armor to make sure his identity was not discovered. He hustled along the path he came and saw the man mumbling something while closing down shop.
Before the man could package his food, a black figure approached silently and a quick kick to his face knocked the unprepared man unconscious as he flew into a wall with a small thud. Zephyr then hurriedly took some meat and found a bag of water by the side which he also nabbed.
After making sure there was no witnesses he fled the scene. He rushed back to the boy and fed him the meat and handed him the water with shaky hands.
"Stealings wrong right? That's what mom taught me, but what I did was correct, right?" Zephyr thought aloud as he watched the boy eat, suffering from a small crisis..
Zephyr was surprised the boy had such a stomach as he devoured all he was given in seconds. The boy also appeared well enough that he wasn't still sickly but could move his head and stare at Zephyr, as if trying to memorize his face.
"Whats your name, I'm Zephyr!" Zephyr introduced himself with a wry smile and a small wave.
"Ares..Seldyne." A dry voice responded quietly before silence took over.
"Do you have home?" Zephyr asked.
The boy shook his head.
"Where's your family?" Zephyr asked a follow up, quite curious about the boy's situation.
The boy then shook his head again, looking downcast this time.
"I see." Zephyr felt bad for the boy, he had everything good in life; a family, friends, house, a way to eat food, while this boy looked like he was starving for days and experienced hardship constantly.
"Come with me, I'll show you my home." Zephyr took out his hand and Ares grasped it as they decided to finally leave the area where they first met. The pair of boys were walking for a while before even Zephyr came to the realization, they were completely lost.
Zephyr didn't want to tell the boy who looked at him with caution and trust such an embarrassing thing so he kept his silence and kept walking down the road covered in darkness.
