《Moonlight Sword Sect》Intermission: A Prelude To A New Dawn

≪ 3rd Person POV ≫
While the fox girl and the sect master of the Moonlight Sword Sect are having a conversation at the Sect Master's Palace Hall, another conversation is taking place oceans away from the Moonlight Sword Sect.
Despite being called as a conversation, it could be also said that this is an important one, concerning everything and even the fate of both the mortal and cultivation world itself.
"So, are the sky ships finally prepared yet?" Said by a woman wearing a yellow robe.
It was a woman with an appearance of her in her 20s. However, because of her being a cultivator, no one knows her actual age.
"Yes, madam." Said by a man in front of her. He was kneeling before the woman, meaning that the woman in front of the man is an important person of some sorts.
"Good. Go tell the mountain elder that we will be leaving as soon at the sect master is ready so he better prepare himself. You're dismissed." The woman said to the man before him as she orders the man to leave this place.
"Yes, madam!" The man before her rose up and bows at her before leaving the room.
"Sect master." The woman looks behind, "Everything has been prepared. All we need are the Moonlight Sword Sect master and the Celestial Winds Sect master's permissions for us to start this mission"
"I'll go send a messenger to them and ask for a permission." Someone replied back to the woman. It was the voice of a man.
The woman behind, revealing a man with slit eyes and a black long hair braided like those of a girl. He was the one who replied back to the woman earlier.
Looking at the man, one could notice that he was currently writing something on his table. It was a letter.
"Ehem, is there something on my face?" Despite not looking, the man has noticed that the woman before him is clearly looking at his face.
"Um no. I'm sorry for interrupting your writing sect master, The woman bows at the sect master.
"It's alright. No need for formalities." The man replied back to the bowing woman. The woman then straightens herself up and sit on a nearby chair. She was currently looking at the hairs of the sect master.
"So cute." She thought inside her head. "Ehem, this is not the time." She said once again in her thoughts, trying to stop herself from imagining such things.
The man before the woman is the current sect master of the 「God Devouring Sect」, Faraxhen. He is currently writing a letter asking for permission from the two great sects, 「Moonlight Sword Sect」, and the 「Celestial Winds Sect.」
Although it looks like his sect is weaker than the two sects, in reality, the God Devouring Sect is also one of the great sects. It was just that the three great sects have a rule that if some great sects like them are going to start a huge event or scene, that sect must ask the two other great sects before doing what they want. If they are granted permission by the other two sects, that sect can do what they want, although it is only limited to what they have written for permission.

So to simplify, the sect master of the God Devouring Sect must first ask for permission before starting out what his sect wants to do based on the letter he gave to the two other great sects.
"White Sand." Faraxhen speaks to the woman sitting before her. "Have you ever noticed that something is strange in this world we live in?" Faraxhen stops writing as he continues asking White Sand.
"I'm sorry, but I do not get what you mean." White Sand replied. Although she knew that everything is wrong in the world to begin with, she does not know what the sect master is talking about.
"Is it about the deities or the mortals below?" She thought inside her head. She did not know what's going on inside his master's mind.
"Ehem, let me say this in another way." Faraxhen touches his throat before continuing, "Have you ever realized why is there an indestructible fog thousand of kilometers far away from us?"
"I have been taught that the fog is the edge of the world, sect master." White Sand replied back. Indeed, at a very young age, she was taught by a teacher that the fog nearest to this continent she lives in is the edge of the world. If someone passes through that fog, that being will die instantly.
"We have been indeed taught that the fog is the world's edge but however, besides from that, think about it from another perspective." Faraxhen places the two letters he wrote inside on each separate envelopes while waiting for White Sand to reply him.
The question Faraxhen gave to White Sand made her realize, "Come to think of it, why is there a fog in the first place?" She thought inside her head.
Faraxhen smiles while looking at her expression. He was simply smiling because he too was having a great difficulty solving this problem and wanted someone to be in the same position as him.
Although he is just doing this for the sake of the time being.
"I.. I do not know sect master." White Sand honestly replied. In truth, the fog being the edge of the world was taught frequently at a young age that it just became the commons among the minds of men and women. There was no explanation for that.
Faraxhen closes his eyes as he recalls his memories, "You know, this question has never been solved even by the old ex-sect masters themselves. Why is there a fog? What does it look like on the other side of the fog?"
"This question has never been solved even by the void deities themselves?" She asks Faraxhen. "If a void deity could never solve this problem, then who can?" She thought inside her head.
"Although the void dimension is very large like our world, there is also a fog that covers surrounds the void dimension like on our world, which limits us from expanding further. As no one have ever tried to enter the fog in fear of no return, no one knows what lies on the other side of the fog.

Faraxhen opens his eyes again and looks at White Sand, "Go and tell 「White Swan Yuara」 and 「Blue Sky Ghant」 to pick up these letters and take them to Moonlight Sword Sect and the Celestial Winds Sect."
"Yes, sect master!" White Sand rose up from her seat and salutes to the sect master before communicating with the two messengers to collect the letter the sect master wrote and send them to the two great sects personally.
"Sect master, may I ask, are we going to the annual sect gathering?" White Sand asks Faraxen as soon as she finishes communicating with the two messengers.
Faraxhen thinks for a second before saying, "Ah I forgot. Instead of me, how about you act as the representative of the Devouring God Sect?"
"I'm sorry, but this one is not wor—" Midway of her speech, she was suddenly interrupted by the sect master's hand telling her to stop.
"There's no such thing as being worthy. It's all about being just yourself. Come come, don't let yourself down." Faraxhen said before gesturing White Sand to come near her.
White Sand stops talking for a while before nodding at the sect master and finally goes near the sect master.
Suddenly, while White Sand was walking towards Faraxhen, a chair appears beside the sect master's chair and a large mirror appears on the table in front of the chair.
As if she knew already what's going to happen, White Sand sits on the newly summoned chair and stare at herself in the mirror. She was pretty. With her ash-gray hair at the length of her shoulders, one could tell that she recently cut her hair.
Her face was also filled with freckles, making her look like someone who just woken up from sleep. Indeed, she was like an innocent girl who just woken up from a rainy day.
Also, one could easily spot a beauty mark near her left eye. If someone looks at her very carefully, one could easily fall in love with her as her natural cold look on everyone makes her the ideal woman for men. With strong characteristics and a cool demeanor, she could easily be seen as a perfect role model for everyone.
"Though that does not compare me to the sect master beside me." She gently laughs inside her head.
Truly, the sect master beside her is on another level. Though he looks like a woman when looking from afar, the sect master is a man with slender features. As the sect master's cultivation realm was in the twelfth realm, his appearance became like those of a young master's, with no sign of aging and almost immortal.
If one compares the sect master's beauty to her, she would surely lose as the sect's beauty is something that could not be explained by nature.
As White Sand thinks about her sect master, Faraxhen rose up from his chair and quickly stands up behind the sitting White Sand.
In an instant, a comb and a pair of hair sticks suddenly appeared on the sect master's hand. "I'm going to start now." Faraxhen said as he gently brushes White Sand's hair.
Like a princess from the mortal worlds, White Sand was being combed by one of the strongest cultivators, the Devouring God Sect's sect master. If someone sees this kind of scene, they would rub their eyes again and again to see that their master was the one combing his assistant instead of the other way.
Slowly, the sect master combs White Sand's ash gray hair. With just the two of them minding their own business here at the sect master's assistant's room, there was no one stopping the sect master from combing White Sand's hair.
As time passes, the sect master finally stops combing her hair as he uses the pair of hair sticks he summoned earlier to hold White Sand's ash-gray hair.
White Sand looks at her new appearance. She was more beautiful than before. Her beauty mark can now be seen just by a glance. It was like she was intentionally seducing someone when in fact she doesn't
Her ash-gray hair was being held up by the hair sticks. Although it was being held by a hair stick, she felt that there were no hair sticks in the first place when in fact there were.
If one looks at the back of her head, one could see a lotus style hair. It was otherworldly.
Also, because her hair is now being held up by the hair sticks, she can see her nape, which made her neck comfortable as the wind passes through her neck.
"See? It's not about being worthy or not. It's just about being you and yourself only. Look at yourself. Don't you think you're pretty?" The sect master looks at White Sand's eyes within the mirror.
"I am indeed pretty, sect master." White Sand said back to the sect master, smiling.
The sect master smiles back, "Everything in this world is here for a reason. Even the smallest details are meant to be reasoning with." He said.
"Yes, sect master." She replied back. Instantly, her mood became much better when the sect master encourages her.
Though she did not really need such encouraging though.
Faraxhen goes back to his chair and sits on it, "White Sand, represent the Devouring God Sect for me okay?"
"I will, sect master." White Sand nods back to the sect master.
"I will also be leaving the sect onto your hands in any case I won't come back." Faraxhen smiles gently at the innocent-looking White Sand as he thought about something.

A Castle in a Teacup
One might say that to anger forces beyond the ken of fragile breakable mortals is a bad idea, others might say that meddling in dark forces with little chance of gain is also a bad idea, they would both be right by on all counts but they forget to mention also how incredibly stupid combining both of those things are. Stupid people don’t last so long on the mystic side of things, normal folks who wander over to the other side have a tendency to do one of two things, either A. figure out that the best thing to do is keep their head down and not draw attention from any entity that refers to humanity as “you mortals” , or B. something horrifying happens to them. As you may have guessed I fell into the second category, mostly because I thought there was a third option. See I though there must be an option C, an option where I got to end up not as some shitty back ally wizard cowering at the chance of discovery, praying that one of my wards or spells wouldn’t be noticed by something that goes bump in the night. No I would be the one who rose above all that. I would never have to be afraid. Well I made a good attempt at it that’s for damn sure, but unfortunately for me it turns out there is not an option C. At least not for me…
