《Empyreal War; MOBA reimagined》Tutorial 2.5: Marching to the Gate (2)

As I went back to the battlefield with my health bar fully replenished, I quickly tested my new skill.
LINE DRIVE
With a kick from one of my boots my body propelled forward in great speed.
It enabled me to span a long distance in just a single step which made me think it as a perfect method to move away from an attacker or chase an enemy that is running off.
I repeated the skill once it finished its cooldown and swung my sword while in motion instantly killing a wounded enemy as I approached.
[ +10 pts ]
Waiting for the skill to be available once more, I then combined it with my combat skill which enabled me to take down two enemies at the same time.
As I have thought, LINE DRIVE can be used to further increase the effectiveness of EMPHASIS.
I used the same process against the enemy golem but then the stone giant suddenly focused its attacks on me. I hurriedly stepped out of its boundary after failing to dodge a couple of times.
[ Health 68% ]
Seeing my health bar decreased, I took a potion from my belt and gulped it up.
"Take caution when you activate skills inside the golem's boundary. The golem is operated by mana and would therefore react if it senses foreign mana in its surrounding,"
"I'll remember that," I replied waiting for the potion's effect to end before diving back to the golem which went on pulverizing my allied pawns.
There are times that I fail to properly activate my skills and while LINE DRIVE is a convenient attacking and dodging skill it takes a long time to cooldown.
Dents and cracks in the golem's body became more apparent as I joined the pawns in the attack. I activated EMPHASIS as soon as it became available but it was not enough to finally destroy the stone giant.

It turned its attention on me after I activated the skill so I moved back a little to prepare for its counterattack. LINE DRIVE I dashed out of the boundary line swiftly escaping the golems grasp.
With a loud bang, the moving stone monument crumbled down.
[ AN ENEMY GOLEM HAS BEEN DESTROYED ]
[ +300 pts ]
[ +1 Valor ]
"Congratulations on destroying the first golem," the voice said as the white butterfly landed on the pile of stones.
"Too bad I was not the one who killed it," I commented.
"You have reached the threshold for obtaining your avatar's ultimate skill. Would you like to spend your points to unlock it?"
"Threshold? Wait, ultimate skill?"
"The ultimate skill, as the name implies, is the most powerful skill in every Avatar's arsenal. A primary skill is required to access secondary skills but an ultimate skill requires a certain point threshold to unlock. A total of one thousand four hundred points. In that regard, points already invested on skills and items are counted as well."
While the voice explained all that, I navigated through my interface and was able to unlock the skill myself.
[ -420 pts ]
[ Skill: ARC TURBO unlocked ]

Few dedicated Cavaliers agreed to be implanted with artificial magic circuits as part of the knight order reformation. These circuits enable them to fully enhance their abilities by infusing mana in their own bodies.

Cooldown: 40 seconds

"Whoa, is this for real?" I commented. A skill that removes the cooldown of skills? With this I can use EMPHASIS and LINE DRIVE without stopping!

"Please be reminded that your allies are reaching the enemy's gate,"
"Oh, Right!" I replied. For a moment I was lost thinking about the possibilities but then I rushed on joining the soldiers that have marched forward.
THE GATEKEEPER
Sounds of trumpets blared as the towering golem that guards the gate welcomed us.
The boundary line that surround it is relatively large as well.
The pool, the pillars, this golem and even the huge golden arch that gloriously stood behind it were almost identical to what we have on our gate.
Well, it was the enemies' gate.
Enemy pawns charged at my few numbered allies and before I knew it they were quickly wiped out. I had to stand my ground until reinforcements arrive and so I activated my new skill.
[ ARC TURBO ]
Blue lines lit up in my black suit and the mechanism attached on my leg whizzed.
With a slight movement of my feet I quickly evaded the incoming enemies moving a short distance away. With another step I swiftly slashed three of them, and another striking two.
I felt the rush. A few more and I could have done all of them but then I was not yet used to it; missing a few times and panickly dashing to the wrong direction. The moment my allies came, my health was down to 20% and my skills were all in cooldown.
I gulped a bottle of potion.
"Thanks for holding the fort!" I greeted one of the pawns as they came, "No problem buddy. You're all welcome!" I told the other one.
They casually responded with a shout raising their weapons in the air as they ran for my rescue--or rather I hope they did.
They simply charged forward straight to their enemies as if they didn't saw me or heard what I said.
"This should have been better if I have some people to talk with," I said as I threw away the vial and took the last potion on my belt.
As I waited for my health bar to be filled, I walked off to a distance to take a break.
"Will I have teammates? These muscleheads are boring," I told the butterfly.
"That would be the case for the battles you are to face soon. You shall experience them later on," the voice said, "for now, focus on completing the mission and take down their gate."
Yeah-yeah but it would have been nice! And better! I imagined myself fighting with friends side by side. But the butterfly was right, I need to finish this already.
I stretched my arms and back and finally went to where my allies headed.

Hell is a place for the organised torment of the guilty in life while the Abyss is its sociopathic disorganised cousin. There’s darkness in the Abyss, and darkness within her that might draw it in. But she'll need to risk its strength, for to get out, she'll need to become strong enough to descend to its deepest reaches. Yet it's in those places that the most dangerous secrets lie in wait. These aren’t the type of secrets that are valuable, or that anyone wants to be found. These secrets destroy. Image by Comfreak from Pixabay This is my first story, and a work in progress. Feel free to point out any errors, and I will gladly fix them. The ending and the major plot points are all planned out. Julia's story is more of a slow burn, and she won't always be in trouble. There will be breathers between the action. Though the story is about Julia, she is not the only force in play. Her actions will affect others, and the actions of others will affect her as well.
