《Fluffy Tails and Horned Heads》Chap. 4, The More the Merrier, i S'pose
Advertisement
I stumbled backwards a bit before falling completely on my back, breathing deep breaths. I pressed my head between my legs and shot my arms up to my head, and sure as heck, there they were. A pair of small horns. Like the skull had started poking out of the head, they were firm and strong.
They were very small, but they were there. Not enough to headbutt someone into submission, but it was horns nonetheless.
I got up in a sitting position again, trying to understand my situation.
So, I must be a... Jackalope...
well, I mean, there's that whole armed wolf deal, but I didn't see anything strange about the fox? Well, then again, I only saw its behind... but that rabbit didn't have any horns, right? so... am I a mutation? Did Bro help me?
No, he doesn't seem like the kind of guy who would just grant me powers like that... hrm. What a strange situation I've found myself in-
“groaaaaaaaaaannnnnnn...!!”
I immediately stopped my train of thought, curling up in a ball on the ground. Fetus position, of course.
I had no choice. I looked at the grey grassy grass grass in front of me, extending my tongue.
The sharp strands of grassy grass grass were not in the mood to be eaten, but I had to. They did not smell appetizing, nor did they look appetizing.
I curled my small tongue around a small tuft of grassy grass grass, trying to pull it towards my open mouth. It did not work with me, however, and it remained seated firmly on the ground.
I adjusted my body a bit, moving closer to the grassy grass grass rather than moving it to me. My mouth descended upon the tuft, but just as I was going to bite down on it, but just as my mouth was right in the position, it tickled the back of my throat, and just like that, I was rolling beside it in a fit of agony and pain, trying desperately not to puke up whatever was in my stomach.

In this fit of agony/pain/tickle/rage, I somehow bit down on the grassy grass grass, chewing it to bits in the process. I almost puked it out. Gosh it was gross...
however, my stomach was not satisfied and was still churning and groaning. I got to my feet and stumbled about. Everywhere I fell I would eat the grass around me, resulting in a bunch'o dots of bare ground behind me.
After a few minutes of this, my stomach gurgled as if saying “eh, I guess this will do”.
I finally got to my feet. S'pose this is a good a time as any to train my walking and running...
ah, you must be wondering how I sit? Hu hu hu, this is one thing I know...
both feet planted on the ground, knees bent, like a true slav. (http://slavsquat.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/68.jpg like these two fine gentlemen) arms on my belly, body leaned up. Yup, the true way of sitting.
Sitting like that, I get ready to move. First, just some slow walking, alright?
I put my hands on the ground and my legs to my sides. Legs go beyond my arms, I push the legs back but not hard enough to send me flying. Next, put the hands in front. Legs at the back go to the front and push me away again. Lo and behold, I can now walk! Using this simple walking pattern, I soon got the hang of it.
Surprisingly, if I just did this faster, I was running! Hehehe, sometimes I get afraid of myself... like this, I ran around in the clearing beside the river until I got the hang of it. Must've rolled into the river at least a hundred timed, geez...
before leaving the river, however, I decided to take a little bath. I mean, who knows what could have gotten stuck in my fur while I was jumping about?...

and so, I went into the river, and as expected, I did not get carried away. It was actually very calm and shallow, so I easily held onto a rock at the bottom. Heck, I didn't even have to move, the stream just washed me all over without the need for scrubbing, not that I could scrub myself for that matter...
I hop out of the water, a new ma, ehem, rabbi-, ehem, Jackalope!
Whatever this world has in hold for me, I'm ready!
And with that, I jumped into the dark forest head-first, ready fo-,
is that leaf floating
holly heck that leaf is floating
as I thought that, the floating leaf came closer to me, until it was right above my head. I didn’t see it, but my ears totally twitched.
It just kinda... hovered there, for a while as I tried to comprehend the situation. When I tried walking, it moved along with me. When I ran, it kept floating above me.
Wwwwwhat is this even
am I... controlling it?
As I thought that, the leaf seemed to move a bit, possibly according to my wishes.
In order to test this, I focused a hecka lot, my very being commanding the leaf to fly into a tree like a friggin' sharingan or whatever.
And behold, it did!
Kinda...
more like, awkwardly-floated-over-to-the-tree-and-as-it-touched-it-fluttered-down-to-the-ground.
Welp. That was anti-climactic.
But, as it would seem, I do have some sort of magical power.
I mean, I suppose it was always in the back of my head that a Jackalope should have some sort of power, but...
isn’t it too weak?

The Infinite Labyrinth
(Story complete - Book 1 "Shanghaied", 2 "Shortcuts", 3 "Secrets" and 4 "Sanctions") It is the 19th century, and war smoulders between England and France. Any hope for a quick end to Napoleon's rampage across Europe ended when the Great Gates opened in 1800. For a fortunate few, the strange world of the Infinite Labyrinth offers opportunities, strange descriptors popping in their minds, informing them of growth, and status beyond that of a mere mortal. The materials and power crystal they bring back foster a new age, both military and civilian. Aether-powered Skyships prowl the skies, as all the great nations blessed by the Gates try to turn the blessings of the Labyrinth into immediate advantages. But for Jonas, an apprentice leatherworker, his friend Ira, and so many Londoners, the fabled ones that walk the Labyrinth are distant heroes, seen from afar. They fell short when their Potential was measured, and they fill their mundane lives with distant dreams. One man wants to break the stalemate. The Tyrant of the Dominion of France, Napoleon Bonaparte, has a plan. Eighteen years after the world changed, he will force it to change again. And when civilians are caught in the fallout, the unthinkable happens. Six people, unqualified, forbidden to ever enter the Labyrinth, find themselves stranded in a distant zone, forcefully turned into Professionals. They know little of what that means, but they have to figure out the rules that are now their lot, for they have little hope to escape their predicament otherwise. They need to understand what the descriptors in their minds mean, what each of the strange piece of gear waiting in treasure chests behind terrible guardians can bring them. They have to become Professionals on their own and rejoin the Empire. They will figure out their new lives one way or another. But will there be an Empire waiting for them when the Gates re-open? Caught in a clash of empires and high tiers, they will do what little they can. They will step up and do their best. One way or another. The Infinite Labyrinth is a slice-of-life litRPG adventure set in a real historical setting. It's a hard, crunchy litrpg. Expect blue boxes everywhere, and the system itself is very mathy. It started life as a serial. I prepared some proper worldbuilding, with enough details and background for lots of different potential story arcs, but as I wrote, I realized the main story needs to have a definitive end. So, there are four books in total, for a bit under 1500 pages, plus additional side stories, and even maybe a sequel one day. The Gore tag was added as a precaution because there are a few scenes with some light gore.

It all started with that voice. One day, a slightly psychopathic teenager named Krey heard a voice in his dream. A goddess's request, a new world, the legacies of the Divine realms, the never-ending storms in the world of Salratia. With the carefree thought of "I shall live as I please~!", Krey sets out to begin his 'otaku' dream. But it is not smooth sailing. Troublesome divine entities, mortal politics and the relationship with his new companions. How could he, a former assassin and former odd-jobs part-time high school student worker (not to mention an otaku), a perfect example of a loner (though he himself doesn't seem to realize it) be able to handle this problem? "Ei! Whatever, there's still a few more centuries! I'll go travel the world in peace!" [Author here. This is my first time writing a story in RRL. Criticism is very welcome as long as it is educational and has some tips and bits of advice for me. I am still learning]
