《I study magic, for destruction?》Chapter 13

Skraa!
The horde of bony freaks hurtled towards us tumbling over each other. I stood up and placed my back against the wall along with Leah beside me.
Flick
Flick
I glanced down at Leah to see her struggling to summon any kind of magic. Her blue hair damp with sweat running down her face.
I clicked my tongue in annoyance. I grabbed her arm and tugged her closer.
“What are you doing?! At a time like this!” She yelled, flinching her arm away.
I took a deep breath after giving her a look of ‘stop being an idiot.’
“Just come here.”
I grabbed her arm and let my ice coat her body just slightly. I then clutched her shoulders and turned her towards me. Her cheeks grew red. What is this? Is she still upset?
I traced a circle counter-clockwise on her forehead and spun her back to her original position.
“Try again.” I said aloud, staring down at the skeletons stepping over each other to get to us.
Leah held out her palm and a fireball appeared instantaneously. That should do it. For now, her flames will be more intense than all her past experiences. This is the power of Time Rewind.
“What did you do? H-how am I able to still use magic? I’m ex—.”
She paused.
Oh? Did she finally realize? Her breathing became visible. Her skin tinted slightly blue.
“I just cooled you down and rewinded your exhaustion. Now come on, show me what you can do, princess.”
I heard a light huff but she still walked in front of me.
SKRAA!
The horde of skeletons reached the middle of the circular room, trying oh so hard to kill us. Sadly, they seemed to have angered the little girl.

Leah held out her palm and I could sense a large amount of energy pooling into her palm from within her body. The ice coating melted off little by little.
“Flame shower!” Leah bellowed.
A large beam shot out from her hand and headed straight for the horse. Before it could reach the first skeleton, Leah flicked her arm upwards and the beam did a right angle towards the ceiling.
“Release!”
The large beam blanketed the ceiling and shot out miniature fireballs like rain down onto the horde below it. The skeletons screamed out and the tower began to rumble once more.
I glanced towards the scene with a smile that reached ear to ear and beads of sweat going down my neck and face. Leah continued on with an unwavering gaze that I’ve never seen before.
I knew this girl would be able to challenge me!! I can’t wait until our next battle. Maybe I should start no—
“Stop drooling and finish up.” Leah ordered.
“Has your ego inflated? Remember to whom you should be grateful towards for showing you your potential. Then again, it has been informative for me as well.”
The last of the fiery rain shot out, leaving only the embers on the floor. The horde of skeletons were now charred bones.
I walked towards the center, looking at the large pile of skeletons piled on top of each other. I stepped onto one of the blackened bones and my foot felt no resistance. The charred bones turned into ash.
“Still though, I didn’t expect this amount of magical potency.” I twisted my body towards Leah. “You may not be that useless after all.”
As soon as I said that, the ditz fell onto the floor. Did she faint? Did I come on too strong? Haha. I sometimes humor myself a little too much.

I walked over to her and went down to one knee. Her eyes were closed with her breath harsh. She was covered in sweat once again, her chest going up and down.
“So exhausted you fell asleep? I retract my previous statements.”
I brushed my fingers on her forehead, pushing aside the blue strands of hair. I noticed her thin glossed lips trembling with her breathing.
Sigh…
I merely just rewinded the exhaustion within her earlier, but now it seems that she has already caught up to it. She must be feeling immensely tired.

Bone Dungeon: Book 1 in the Elemental Dungeon Series
Ryan doesn't remember much about his life before becoming a dungeon core. Only that he had a bit of a disagreement with the church -- something to do with a beheading? Now reborn, Ryan begins to arm his darkness dungeon with devious traps, bestial zombies and ill-named skeletal creations, without doing anything too evil. Well, mostly. Some adventurers just deserve a stalactite to the head. But Ryan quickly learns being a darkness dungeon isn't all loot and bone puns. With a necromancer on the rise and the Adventurer's Guild watching his every move, he must prove that not all darkness dungeons are malevolent... even if they do have a few skeletons in their caverns.
