《Questers, a litRPG tale》Chapter 11

The whole class was forced to meet at training hall 32 where Trainer Violet was waiting, checking out the few wooden swords.
"Good. You lot are on time." She grabbed a sword from the stand and flicked it in the air. "Most of you have had training before from your families. Right now, I'm your trainer and you will all listen to what I saw. All of those techniques that your mentors taught you, keep it aside for after my class." She slowly eyed all the students standing before her.
"How many of you have used a sword before?", asked Violet. Apart from the two villagers, everyone had their hands shoot towards the sky. "You two, come to the front." Violet picked two from the front and asked them to pick their favoured weapon.
Walking back and forth the two tested different swords and finally picked one that felt comfortable in their grip. "Good, remember to always check out the weapon that was offered to you. Make sure you can wield it comfortably." Violet turned towards the two who were facing each other ready for a duel. "Remember, in the virtual world your injuries will be healed in seconds, but out here when you get hit it will always sting. Let me see how good your tutors were." After setting up a magic timer, she said loudly, "start!"
The two rushed at each other approaching with their swords held in front. 'Plack.' The sound of two wooden swords bashing against each other reached everyone's ears. "Good posture. And the force used was balanced. But why did the two of you rush to fight head-on? Do you think sword arts is for show business? Are you two clowns?" Both the kids relaxed jumping back to their initial positions. Violet grabbed a different sword and walked in between the two. "Come at me, together." She held the five-foot-long blade horizontally by the hilt.

The two tightened their grip on the sword and their eyes fixed on the long sword in front of them. "Where the hell are you two looking at? I said to come at me, not my sword." With a sudden twist of her wrist, she pulled the sword behind her and bashed the head of the two trainees with her free hand. "It's ok." She asked the two to go back and stand with the rest.
"Well then, everyone try and find a sparring partner." She paced around the hall waiting for them to settle down. "Alright, spread out. I want at least 5 meters between each group." The twelve-year-olds started moving after picking a sword from the stands. "Although not all of you are talented in swordplay, it's still better to learn a few of its basics. It will at least help you avoid getting hurt and counter-attack when you finally meet an enemy proficient in it."
Sam and Jim started warming up for the duel while Dona and Maya just stood back with the weird on their hip. Justin was grouped with Samson, a warrior job holder. He wasn't aware that Justin had never practised sword arts.
Sam and Jim were focused on their duel while the other two girls stood to the side watching the two. Every time Jim charged at Sam, Sam would sidestep away narrowly avoiding the blade. "Impressive, you must have trained from a young age to reach such high standards." Seeing the rare show of talent, Violet walked closer to observe, standing next to the two girls gossiping with each other.
"Are you two just going to run each other out of stamina?" Violet said, raising an eyebrow. Jim, who became distracted by the trainer's voice, failed to react when Sam suddenly kicked his foot off. With a scream, Jim fell with a split. "Ahh, fuck you." Screamed Jim looking at Sam. "Don't swear in class and don't get distracted in the middle of a right." Violent warned the two, walking away from the group.

Next to the four, Justin faced Samson watching carefully at his movements. Due to her mutated job class, she possessed some of the abilities of a warrior. Samson who was perplexed by the girl who refused to buy into his feints slowly started sweating. 'Fuck, am I going to lose to a villager?' He became more and more agitated. Suddenly Justin charged into the reach of his sword with a horizontal stab. Samson, who was stunned for a split second reflexively diverted the stab with an arc swipe. 'She really was just a villager.'
The powerful swipe from a real warrior made Justin lose footing falling face down. Violet, who was walking towards the two looked at the girl on the floor. "Be careful. Try not to stumble over holding a sword." She turned around looking at Samson, "and you, being careful is good but don't think too much in a fight. Try to loosen a bit. You are too stiff for a warrior." Violet looked at the girl, still on the floor. "Who's in her team? Grab her and take her to the infirmary," ordered Violet. Dona rushed in and pulled Justin over her shoulder and walked off towards the infirmary followed closely by the rest.
"What else did you expect from a charity case?", said Rick who swung his sword at the boy he was paired with. The villager, who was named Mark was a mage, with weaker physical abilities. The sudden hit left him stunned. "You trash shouldn't be here." Another stab from the wooden sword drew blood piercing through Mark's ribs. He collapsed immediately bleeding heavily.
"Stop right now," Violet ordered with fury. A blood-red aura was immediately released making all the kids fall on their knees, some losing consciousness immediately after. The metal floor caved in slightly from the heavy steps as Violet approached Rick with fiery red eyes. Her hair shook violently in the aura, emitting a slight reddish glow.
"Even if it's trash, you do not strike a human who has already lost to you." Her grasp on Rick's head tightened, making him spasm and crush down on the ground. "You, get Lady Bennett here. She shouldn't have any lectures now", she said pointing at the closest girl, suppressing her aura. The trembling girl walked off towards the infirmary.
Violet kneeled next to Mark suppressing the blood gushing out. "That's enough for today. You can all put the sword back." Violet said in a soft voice which was carried by the wind through the hall as no one dared to make even the slightest noise.

Zeroth Knight re: Dawn
Isekai, fantasy, with the core themes of Identity and Fate. Story contains a, mostly, lesbian cast. Updated twice a day. Evangeline Sayagawa makes the ultimate choice at the cost of the ultimate sacrifice: She decides to leave her world that she fought so hard to return to, and return to Arsea in hopes of saving everyone. Little was she aware of just how bad things had gotten. The world she was returning to was cast into chaos and on the precipice of being destroyed. She awakens in this new kind of Arsea, after having witness the end of a dear friend. The world now belonged to the monstrosities of old, the Beta, and their corrupted human warriors, the Eld. With her fake identity, that which defined her in this world, being stripped from her, she now has to navigate a darkness in which not even the women she loves recognize her. This is book 2 of the Evangeline Sayagawa "Zeroth Knight" story, with book 1 being found here. The first "chapter" posted here is a hyper-condensed version of volume/book 1, in case anyone needs a generalized refresher of events, or for those who wish to start with this book instead as it is faster paced and more action-packed than the first one. Suffice to say, but most of the details from book 1 are lost by doing this; however, enough of the more-important information is present to allow one to understand the general idea of what is going on. This book features a mostly lesbian cast and deals more so with fate and crises of identity more than anything else. However, there is much more action in this one than any of my other stories thus far and brings about the end of Evangeline Sayagawa's story arch... sort of. I have another story up, a short story drama with light yuri and supernatural themes: "Escape The KNIGHT" Share the story if you think it's good. And please rate some stars and leave reviews guys. It will help encourage other people to take a chance with the story and get to know this wonderful journey with us.
