《I Am A Demon Lord, Get Me Out Of Here》Chapter 2: Green pesky beasts

HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, Goblins are just plain, HORRIBLE,
I mean, who even likes them?
Some pretty girl called Auru (I think) told me the village chief was taken away by Goblins or something along those lines.
You may ask: "why would a Demon Lord hunt Goblins?"
I'm broke... and if what that farmer says is true, I am technically no longer a Demon Lord. Also, that Auru girl is pretty cute. But all that doesn't matter right now. First, I have to kill those green orc-misfits called Goblins.
Auru told me, where their nest is. So I'm currently walking there, but the wind blows permanent pollen into my eyes. I hate this.
As I arrive at the goblin nest, two goblins approach me:
[Goblin A: "Look, an *Imp* or something, do you think we can rob it?"]
[Goblin B: "Of course we can if we get the others."]
["Uhm, I don't want to disturb but have you seen an old man, roughly 1,80 tall with an ax around here?"]
[Goblin A: "Y- yeah course we have! Want me to show you where?"]
Perfekt! These goblins are going to bring me to their hideout, which means I can kill two flies with one swoop! They'll show me, where the chief is and I can kill all of them!
Following the two goblins through chin high grass and other wild plants, I can see the goblin nest in the distance: A large hole in the ground, supported by wooden beams and stones worked in the walls. The nest does not look stable.
After entering the nest the air begins to stink like a dead horse,
a mix of shit, rotten flesh. And the lack of fresh air only amplifies the abhorrent stench. How can anything live like that?

[Goblin B: "the chief is just behind this door"]
Say's the goblin whilst pointing towards a door, which looks like, it's been ripped out of a farmer's hut.
I enter the room and "WHAM!" the goblins slam the door shut behind me:
[Goblin B: "GYEHEHEHE, did you really think, we'd lead you to the chief?"]
[Goblin A: "You must really be stupid!"]
The room I am locked inside is small and dark, but with my night vision, I can see what the room really looks like:
Dirt walls, supported by two wooden beams, slammed against the walls, roots of (what I presume to be) a tree piercing the ceiling
and two bloodied bodies lying in a corner. The goblin must use this room to keep their prey till they die of thirst or commit suicide.
But what the goblins don't know is that I am also a mage! In my prime, I used to cast fireballs the size of houses.
I wonder how powerful my magic is now?
["O fatum flammarum perdere inimicis!"]
A ball of fire begins to form in my right hand. Nice, It's still working, but sadly not to the extent I wanted, but that'll do just fine.
Magic: Magic is used by casting words of power. You have to learn every meaning these words have and practically make these words your own if you can do this (and some talent), you can cast magic fairly easily. But magic comes at a price: It puts an enormous strain on one's mind, thus most Wizzard and other kinds of magic user tend to be a scholar to some degree. Also magic requires you to have full control of your body so it can fully synergize with your mind, and I seem to have lost this connection to some degree in this form.

I point my hand towards the wooden door and unleash the flaming orb.
*WOOOHM!*
The door explodes. I walk through the thick smokescreen created by the explosion. Goblin A and B look me surprised in the eyes.
[Goblin A: "ENEMY!! THERE IS AN ENEMY IN OUR NEST!!!"]
[Goblin B: "WE NEED REINFORCEMENTS!"]
I grab *Externish* and behead Goblin B with on swift slash. Goblin A pulls a dagger from his belt and charges towards me whilst screaming:
[Goblin A:" I'LL GET YOU FOR THAT!!"]
I dodge Goblin B's charge attack and grab him by his neck before breaking it. Goblins themselves really aren't that strong, it's their numbers. That said, there are currently about 20 to 30 goblins staring me down...

Gods How I Hate Nature
While there are always choices in life, lately they’ve all tended to skew between bad, terrible, and suicidal. Tome finds himself typically choosing the latter. As if people and plants consistently trying to kill him wasn’t bad enough, he finds himself sent off to a Mage Spire along with a self-righteous other worlder (as though there were any other kind). Add to this some powerful figures in black, a sadistic instructor, an uptight law keeper, and Tome just wants to go back to his room, down a pint, and forget about everything… But, when someone starts a fight, especially someone bigger and stronger, you bide your time and strength. Before you can get revenge, you have to settle for surviving and slowly gaining power. That means accepting the most suicidal choices, doing the jobs no one else will do, always smiling, and not slitting that other worlder’s throat… (The story will incorporate comedy, but it will be a dark story. This won't be a happy, uplifting tale, but it also won't be too morose or depressing. Though if you're rooting for the other worlders, then I suppose it will be...)
