《He-Thing and the Cabal of the Cosmos》The Grand Matron Receives an Answer
Advertisement
Annison answers the Matron, "No."
She has never seen such a face before,
it is completely alien to her,
wrinkled,
powdered and heavily painted,
all in an attempt
to disguise ridiculous age.
Annison peers at the Grand Matron,
"No," she says again, raising her voice,
"I do not know you!"

Annison Lake,
Grand Matron of the Permanent Now,
woke from her reverie.
Yes, she remembered,
she had broken the taboo,
in her first meeting
with the Grand Matron,
herself,
refusing to acknowledge
that they were one.
The Elders had whispered with suspicion,
but it had not mattered —
here she was,
the Grand Matron nonetheless.

Castle Brave Bone still quaked,
and the Doom Bell continued to
rupture atoms
with its hysterical warning.
But —
there was a knock on the door,
her protégé,
herself,
the girl came quietly into the chamber,
Annison Lake, of the Celestian-Lakes,
not raising her eyes,
every curve and crevasse
of her teenaged body
revealed by the hyper-translucent gown,
a girl, only fourteen —
but not bashful.
And the Grand Matron realized —
This one is pious.

Despite Castle Brave Bone quaking,
despite the tolling Doom Bell,
her protégé followed protocol,
saying nothing,
kneeling in the center of the chamber,
kissing the floor perilously close
to the Grand Matron's toes.
Rising,
never meeting the Grand Matron's —
a rule, the Grand Matron remembered,
she herself had never followed —
the protégé spoke in her crystal voice,
Annison Lake's voice,
"The ageless and intangible
Oracle of the Sacrificial Shaft
has made its estimation."

The Grand Matron spoke,
"Yes? What is it, girl?
Her protégé spoke,
"The ageless and intangible
Oracle of the Sacrificial Shaft
has confirmed that something
indeed has changed."
The Grand Matron spoke again,
desperate,
"What has changed?"
Her protégé's voice was emotionless,
Advertisement
zealous,
she thought herself filled with divinity.
"He-Thing is in mortal danger."

Annison,
the Grand Matron,
managed to keep herself
from revealing any sort
of emotional response,
despite this obvious evidence
of the Linearity
intruding into the Omniverse.
Yes,
she could play at zealotry herself,
like the young protégé.
The Grand Matron spoke,
"Bring me Zolantos and his daughter."

Now,
her protégé,
her eyes aghast,
did not listen,
did not follow protocol,
for the first time,
did not immediately carry out
the Grand Matron's orders,
but instead,
sat in shock,
did not move.
And the Grand Matron shouted,
in immolation,
"Did you not hear me, protégé?
Bring me Zolantos the warrior-poet!
Bring me Zolantos the Merciless Cripple!"

Chronicles of Oryn: Dawn of the Scion
ATTENTION: Since I am currently not happy with the story so far, I have put it on hold for now and will restructure the story as well as adding more characters and story arcs. Most of the already written content will stay the same except for small detail changes. They will only be reorganised into the new content that will be added later. Thank you for understanding! Two run-away best friends who only had each other turned to crime to survive in a harsh and brutal world. In the middle of winter, a promise of treasure of an ancient civilization grabbed their attention, triggering a chain of events that would change their lives forever, and possibly end the world. Main characters: - Kiera Bloodcrest. A commoner young adult human who ran away from her abusive home. - Elynn Dorlana. A young adult princess, banished from elven lands to prove her worth once again among humans with notorious hatred for their kind. This story tackles sensitive subjects such as racism (against a fictional race), parental abuse and extreme violence. Read at your own discretion.

Artifice: Iysinfyr
Nalulthyn is the young daughter of a duke that is one day asked for a favor. This favor involves the adopted daughter of the duke from a neighboring area. This girl has had a traumatic past and has closed herself off from the world completely and reacts violently when touched by anyone but her personal maid. The duke hopes that a girl close to the age of his adoptive daughter will be what she needs to recover, but things are never as easy as they seem. First is that this adopted daughter is a Terran, a rare being from a different world that has skin and hair as white as snow and an almost alien build. Second is that there is a power to this girl, one that makes her recovery all the more dangerous to Nalulthyn and perhaps beyond. Author's note: This is a soft reboot of Artifice: Tools of the Gods. As I wrote the other story years ago I felt it would be better to do this approach as my writing has changed and improved since then. For now only two characters will return though I might reintroduce others later in the story. Even though this has the gore tag, I don't plan on being excessive with it. Most chapters shouldn't have any. The only reason I have it is to be realistic with the descriptions.
