《Devour》Chapter 6: Twin Soul Swords

Back to school in class 1-1
"It seems like everyone has their Soul weapon!" Ms. Remy is glad to see this since last year only ten students have their soul weapons, making her the most strict teacher in the whole school. "Does anyone wants to volunteer to show how your soul weapon works?" Ms. Remy suddenly ask the class as she looks at her students
Jio raises his hand, thanks to Mickey using the right amount of magic to make static electricity and place it to Jio's elbow; this results in Jio raising his hand volunteering for the class.
Mickey whispers, laughing to Jio, "Code NAVY bro, Never Again Volunteer Yourself. Hahaha," Ms. Remy saw everything but didn't care and told everyone in the class to be at the field in five minutes.
In the field, Ms. Remy takes her twin swords out, and the temperature suddenly rises, and her twin swords start to blaze like crazy "Today, I'll show you the difference between a normal grade and a soul-grade."
Ms. Remy already prepared two dummies in advance and explained that the left dummy wore regular-grade armor while the right side wore soul-grade armor.
Ms. Remy charges the left dummy and easily cuts it into pieces in two seconds. She stood up and said, "Now look at the one on the right, the soul-grade armor with water element or water magic."
Jio notices that the energy flowing around the twin swords intensifies and wonders how much power Ms. Remy is holding back.
She charges to the second dummy, but her blades turn back to the normal-looking sword because of the water magic canceling the fire properties of the twin swords. She only used a small amount of power to show how it works, and using full force would turn it to ashes and give her students 2nd to 3rd-degree burns.

"Jio, I know you volunteer, but I might break your soul weapon. I'd replace it if I did break it... Are you still willing to try your weapon?" Ms. Remy announces and asks Jio before they spar.
"Yes, and I know I can handle half the power of your twin soul swords since you only show a bit of it earlier if I'm not mistaken," Jio let out, which caught Ms. Remy surprised by his keen eyesight.
Yesterday Jio finally had time to meditate, so he took one Dragon Pear in his ring and ate it. He knows that this priceless fruit would help him greatly after consuming it. He feels the strange strong energy flow from his stomach to his eyes right after he finishes a whole pear.
When he opened his eyes, smoke-like energy can be seen. Jio's eyes improved five times, plus the ability to see energy and magic when he activates this ability, making him mentally tired. The minimum use time is thirty minutes for multiple short uses and ten minutes tops for continuous use.
Standing in the middle of the field, Jio takes Jon out from his universal bag and ready himself to spar with Ms. Remy.
"Luna! Be the referee!" Ms. Remy let out.
"Yes, Miss Remy," she replies and continues with a loud voice, "ILL BE ACTING AS SAFETY FOR TODAY'S FIGHT; I WILL COUNT DOWN TO THREE AND THE FIGHT WILL BEGIN!"
THREE!....TWO!!....ONE!!!...GO!!!
Jio charges Ms. Remy while her swords begin to heat up, but this time it's five times the power, and part of her hair starts to blaze. She then blocks Jon with her left sword and tries to slash Jio from right to left with her right sword, but Jio dodges by jumping backward.

He swings Jon downward to Ms. Remy as Jon starts to change its appearance like the one before with the Monsgus in the forest as Jon approaches Ms. Remy.
He jumps back for a second time and charges again like his fighting for his life, and as the swords clash together, Ms. Remy realizes that her fire swords didn't affect Jio; it seems that some of the power gets transferred to Jio's body.
*Black stone? Not bad* Ms. Remy thought and said, "It seems like your using a black stone. Can you still fight? I'm sure you're about to hit your limit physically and mentally. Your sword sure can adapt real quick! It's unbelievable; it's a shame it's not a shield; it would be more useful," Ms. Remy comments as she raises her twin swords and puts them together, making it more like a great sword as the heat intensity.
"I forfeit!!! My sword and my black stones are full!" Jio aims his left arm in the sky, and all fire magic from the stone is release making a fire vortex. The students can not believe Jio has excellent control with magic but decided to become a warrior wasting his talent they thought.
Ms. Remy pulls the sword in half, making it back to her twin sword while the fire extinguishes like popping a bubble. "Class president, tell everyone to go back to the classroom and wait for me."
*He could attack me with the fire stored in the black magic stone and decided to forfeit... He knows how much damage it will cause if he uses it on me. Who's that kid's parent and who trained him?* Ms. Remy thought as she walks away
"Will do, Miss Remy," Luna replies.

Steamforged Sorcery [A Steampunk LitRPG]
This is a fantasy story in a steampunk setting, not a sci-fi. The Great War ravaged the face of the earth many years ago. In the years that passed, the world rebuilt, mixing machinery and magic to form something new. Great blimps took to the sky, belching steam and smoke as metal cities sprouted like weeds below. Angel, a talented mage, scours the desert endlessly in search of lost knowledge. When it unexpectedly falls into his hands, he quickly comes to realize that the world is far larger – and far more deadly – than he ever could have predicted. But no amount of danger is going to keep Angel from seeking out greater strength and traveling the world, claiming all the greatest treasure that it has to offer. To most, the desert is a dangerous threat to be feared. To Angel, it’s a land of opportunity, waiting to be exploited. Steamforged Sorcery is, as the title suggests, a LitRPG Steampunk story with heavy focus on magic and scenery. The main character starts out relatively strong (but far from overpowered) but will eventually grow in strength to incredible levels. It is moderately paced and does not progress at ridiculous speeds. Release Schedule: 1,500 words daily Monday-Friday

Numbers Continually Going Upward
The world has very politely ended in the most webfiction way possible. Everyone is now leveling up in various things. Problems are arising. Some or all of those problems may be based around how to have a community barbeque when the nearest cow has been teleported to a few thousand miles away, along with the nearest supermarket. Join our protagoinst as he attempts to be a cool person, while everything falls apart. _____It turns out that any attempt to write a parody of the litrpg genre through overuse of the concept of leveling up inevitably fails when it turns out that *that is what the genre is based on*. Still, this was a fun little candy project of mine, and I might write more of it.

Being the God of Hell is a bother [On temporary hiatus]
A group of people dies in a plane crash, but their souls are snatched away by an entity called the Highest One, that wants to make them the gods of a new world in order to guide and control its population. One of the passengers, Viktor, protests this, saying that the people of the new world should be entitled to find their own path in life without immortal beings ruling over them. The Highest One then ask Viktor if he really has that much faith in humanity, and after Viktor answer positively he made him into the God of Hell, tasked with redeeming the souls of the damned, as a way to test Viktor's faith in humanity... EDIT: I'm reworking this novel a bit, changing the first chapters from the "screenplay" form to standard prose. I should be done and start a shedule of one chapter per week at the end of february.
