We started by exploring the outer ring of the mountain. We ran through the dense forest. The mountain terrain made our search slow. But that could not stop us.

In our search for Lena's brother,I grew much close to her. I also learned that Lena can use magic. She had a affinity for fire magic.

Her fire power is considerably high. If she could learn from a proper source,she would be a great MAGE.

We searched the whole outer ring but we didn't find her brother. But we got to fight some monsters.

But with the two of us together it became easy to handle them.

It also helped me to get some more battle experience. I can use my skill much better than before.

But I noticed that it was getting late we have ventured quite deep in the mountain. If we don't stop now we will run into more stronger monster.

Also Arthur doesn't want to loose his life meaninglessly. An adventurer quest of the low level doesn't take someone this deep. But for Lena to accept her brother death the search has to end.

So he tried to convince her.

"Lena,I think we should stop. We have searched the whole outer ring but still didn't find any clue of your brother. "

Lena remained silent. But I still said the word she needed to accept.

"If your brother is still alive then maybe he went back home. You can see him there when you go back. but I think we both know that it's a lie."

"I don't think your brother is alive anymore. He must have wandered too far in the mountain completing the mission….then something must've happened and he died"

Lena still remained silent. Lena's silence kind of made me worried.

I wanted Lena to get over her brothers death and follow me back. I didn't want to see a beautiful girl like her die in the mountain.

"Hey,Arthur. Do you think it's stupid of me to try find my brother even if there is no chance of finding him."

"No,I think you genuinely care about your brother. I wish I had such a good relationship with my sister."

"You have a sister?"

"Yes. It's just our bond is not that strong. Your brother must've been proud to have a sister like you."

"Yes.he really was. Thank you."

There was a brief silence between us. Then suddenly she started to talk looking up in the sky

"I don't think I will search for you anymore,brother."

"I hope you are well wherever you are."

Then Lena sighed and took a deep breath. She came back to normal.

I was surprised to see that she could change her disposition so quickly. She was really sad awhile ago. Now she looks fine. I don't know if she is acting that way to show me that she's ok.

But for now I think she will be fine. I am also happy to see her this way.

And now that our little search is over,I suddenly thought of something. Lena said that her brother is her only relative. So now that her brother is dead,she is all alone in this world.

I looked at Lena and had an idea. What if I took her In. I know it looks like I am trying to take advantage of a girls vulnerability. But I won't treat her badly.

Maybe she will join my harem later….

But the problem is will she follow me and when she learns that i am a noble will she hate me?

"Lena,now that your brother is dead what are you going to do."

"Why don't you follow me to my home? You can stay with me."

Each word of her was a punch in my gut. I was so embarrassed. I didn't even step out of home that much so who spread this nasty rumours about me.

"Anyway,What do you think about following me?"

"I don't know. You are a noble. If I go with you will it be ok?"

"I don't want you to face more trouble because of me.",Lena said

I was impressed by her benevolence. She just lost her brother but she is still thinking about another person's welfare. I absolutely have to make this girl join me.

"No,it won't be a problem. You will stay with me as one of my retainer. Then,No one will have any problem. "

"Ok,Then I'll follow you. But I won't stay for free. I will become a bodyguard for you. My magic is very powerful,you know. "

"Our family has a lot of book on magic. You can improve yourskill by reading them.if you are strong,you can protect me better."

"It'll be better if you could get into a academy. Your commoner identity is a problem but I'll try my hardest to get you into a academy so that you can become a great MAGE."

"Really,you would do that for me. I will be very happy if you do That."

Her eyes glowed brightly for a instance. That Arthur couldn't see.

"Yeah,I will definitely do that."Arthur promised Lena.

Then they left the area and went to city.
