《RISE OF KING ARTHUR》Chapter 12 - MICHAEL

Everybody in the courtyard was shocked. Be it the guards or servants of the mansion.
Their expression was quite hilarious. Everybody stopped doing whatever they were currently doing listening my words. There was a strange silence for a moment.
Then, everyone started whispering. Some of them stifled their laugh and those who are more daring laughed out loud.
They all thought that I was insane.Reeves is a warrior of peak tier apprentice warrior realm. On the other side,I am known as a trash who doesn't have any cultivation. There is no fight between us.
If we fought,it's going to be a one-sided massacre. At least, that's what everyone here thinks.
Seeing everyone mocking Arthur,Lena couldn't hold it in. She lashed out at them with her word. Lena's word stopped them from badmouthing him.
Seeing Lena protect him,Arthur felt really greatful towards her. he also had a desire to protect her now.
"Young master Arthur,Are you joking? If you think fighting is some kind of joke, then you are insulting us."
"We have to train hard to become strong and qualified soldier. Otherwise,we won't be hired as the house Sherwood guards."
"Relax,No ones questioning you guys. But you guys are the one who's questioning my ability. Your words felt like you are insulting me."
The guards were all shocked at my word. Nobody expected that I would be so adamant on this. But Arthur wanted to fight this prick and teach him a lesson. One that he will never forget.
But as a noble he can't just beat anyone up. He has to show proper reason for beating someone.
Noble etiquette can be so troublesome sometimes. They can't just brawl on the street like commoner for the tiniest things. They have to be magnanimous and show compassion to commoner.

"I am not insulting young master. I am just saying that punches and kicks don't have eyes. If you injure yourself,it's my head that's gonna roll."
"You don't have to worry about that as we won't be using any weapons. So,there's no need to fear injury. Or,Are you scared that you are gonna loose in the fight that's why you're making these excuses.",Arthur taunted Reeves.
Listening to Arthur's taunt,Reeves was incensed. He was way stronger than me and yet I was taunting him, looking down on him. This clearly didn't sit well with him.
"Yeah,he is clearly afraid that young master will bash him black and blue. He is so afraid that he is speechless now.",Lena mocked Reeves suddenly.
I was dumbfounded when Lena poured oil in fire. This girl….
I can't believe that Lena is so mischievous. Reeves is clearly fuming in rage but Lena had to pour oil in this fire.
Sigh… I have to take care of this mess now. I hope that Reeves can leave here safely now.
"Ok,if young master wants to instruct me,I will gladly accompany him."
"Let's head to the arena."
Everyone headed towards the arena.the news of me and Reeves fighting spread through the mansion like wildfire.
When we were heading to the arena,Lena asked me with concern and anxiety.
"Master Arthur,Are you sure you can defeat that guy. Although he is a jerk,I heard from the guards conversation that he is stronger than you."
"Ah,sorry to worry you,my dear. I won't loose to him. He won't even see where I attacked him from. The match will be over before it even starts."
I said that in a loud voice so others could here me.

And just as I thought they were all very angry especially the guards who followed Reeves around. They started talking maliciously. But,I ignored them.
"Master,you are bragging,aren't you?"
"Oh,I heard you talking bad about Reeves a minute ago. Did you agitate him when you didn't trust me. I am very sad, Lena. "
Lena giggled…
Ah,it's so nice to be accompanied by a beautiful girl. Now,I understand why those novel always had a girl accompanying the protagonist. It really gives boost to one's ego.
I can already imagine my future where I am surrounded by worldtoppling beauty. I will be all the men's envy.
I kind of drooled a bit thinking about that scenario. But I felt someone pinching my arm.
Lena gave me creepy look for that.
I was embarrassed by my behaviour. Then,I focused on the current situation.
When we reached the arena, the word of our duel already travelled. Many spectators had already gathered there.
What surprised me is that there was someone who volunteered to oversee our duel.
It was the captain of the city Lord's personal troops. His name is Michael. Michael is a strict and law abiding person. He has a strong sense of gratitude. Our family took him in as a servant when he was young and homeless.
But,Michael gradually showed his talent in cultivation. So,he was nurtured and currently he is at the low tier advanced warrior realm.
Michael is already 27years old, still unmarried. So,many people want marry off their daughter to him to curry favour with him.
As a men,Michael looks very handsome with his short wavy white hair. His strength is also good. In a world where strong people are worshipped Michael is definitely a good choice. So,girls also admire him too.
But he doesn't show any interest. He has a cold and aloof aura around him that makes people stay at a distance from him.
I don't know what can move that stoic guy. But this guy is strong and has lot of influence in our families military. So,both my siblings tried to recruit him but both of them failed.
So,I was surprised to see him here. It isn't his duty to tend to every little thing that pops up here and there.
But,I can't think of any reason. So,I stopped thinking about it.
When we neared the fighting arena,Michael approached us to inform that he will be the judge of this duel. He didn't explain why he is here though.
We had no objections so we agreed on some rules like no use of weapons, no killing and no heavy injury.
The way to emerge victorious is either knock out your opponent, paralyze him or get him out of the arena. Surrendering works too.
Michael asked us if we understood the rules. We nodded our heads to indicate that that we got it. Then,Michael also warned that if someone broke the rules,he will be punished severely.
I chuckled inwardly. I knew that this warning was not for me. But I was happy to see Reeves ashen face.
He was probably thinking that he will be able to trample me under his shoes if it were not for Michael showing up.
But,I was thinking that Michael showing up might be good for you.

What Was Lost Outside Time
What happens to a mind, subjected to an infinite span of time? What remains, when it is taken out again? This is the story of an individual reborn after such time has passed that nothing remains of what it was; an individual who must learn once again what it is to be, beginning with awareness of the idea of awareness, and growing from there; from awareness of self, to awareness of others, to awareness of society, and on. This is the story of a mind; growing, learning, adapting, and becoming more. -- Currently the first three chapters are - well, kind of experimental. I both like and hate these; they were a pain to write, and I'm told by at least one person that they're painful to get through, but I think something like them is necessary to set one of the basic ideas about the way the story is written. It gets slightly more normal after that, the first arc of the story is rather "battle school", and I think I may need to go back and edit it - the characterization didn't end up working out as well as I had originally hoped, unfortunately, and ended up rather weak to my eye. I may go back and add a sub-plot or two, depending on how well I can handle the intended perspective shift of the second arc. -- Currently on hiatus, in case that wasn't obvious. I'm debating between rewriting large portions of what I've already written, and just finishing out the story, but either way, I don't actually have a clear idea of what I want to do right now. If I'm still feeling the same way in a few months I'll put a chapter up explaining where the story was going, maybe, so the people who have enjoyed it can know where the story was intended to go, and close this out.

The Pugilist
Vincent Roy Salazar has never been your common folk. He climbed any mountain he found in front of him. From a bright young student to an accomplished professor, his life can be described as a continuous race to the top of his chosen fields. Patriarch of a loving family, proud father of three already grown siblings, Roy realizes that his life is the perfect picture of what the average man strives for, and for that he is truly grateful. But happiness is a difficult-to-reach goal, and as he lies in a pool of his own blood, his fist cracked, a young lady crying while cradling his head, he remembers what really gave sense to his youth. Pure Unadulterated Violence The Pugilist wants to be a different take on isekai shenanigans. What would happen if instead of a moronic idiot, a depressed high schooler, or a wannabe hero the one to get his do-over is a fully grown man that has already seen what life has to offer in full? Someone who conformed himself to society, but has always craved something different? In a journey of self-discovery, academy building, god-slaying, and absolutely no harem we follow someone driven by logic, experience, and a smokey goal: to fuck shit up, have fun while doing so, and maybe resume his career as a professor for those strange, magic-wielding, unstable youths that seems to never get enough of his presence. Guys, a few notes, first of all, this is my first time writing long-form fiction. I have a background in psychology, and my main income comes from writing dreary financial articles on SEO blogs. But after a bad break-up, and finding myself falling asleep only while thinking of deus ex machina for stories on this site (and for APGTE) I decided to try my hand at this web series thingy. I'm confident in my grammar, but that's it. Everything else will be a first time, and as such any constructive criticism is encouraged and gratefully accepted. Now, on the story. Romance will be introduced once my little heart is mended, if you are scared of LGBT you may be turned off by the fact that I plan to have no taboo of any kind in my universe, but I won't ever write detailed sex scenes for any characters so don't worry too much. The litRPG part is very light and will take place later in the novel, but it's a key component nonetheless, for world-building and storyline reasons. I already have everything big planned out, so I won't drop it outta nowhere, and I hope you won't find too many flaws in how things pan out. I plan to make The Pugilist an interactive story, with secondary characters created by my audience and introduced after tweaks and careful planning. The main reason I'm writing this is that I want to build a community for myself in this time of isolation. I discovered that exercising, playing the piano or video games means jack-shit when you are utterly miserable, so I hope to give some value to my readers in exchange for praise, fame, money, and companionship. I give full props to anyone who has read this whole mess of a synopsis: I hope to not disappoint too much, now let's write some more steaming garbage that will be in dire need of editing later on.
