The distinct sakura tree bloom was over and summer started to take presence over spring. It was two weeks ago since Haruka moved in and things were going pretty well. Kazuo hadn't done much besides trying to catch up on his homework and hang out with Haruka when she wasn’t working which she did rather often to bring in a decent amount of money to finance their more structured lifestyle now that Haruka was around. In school things were as usual except Kayano, who seemed to enjoy just talking with Kazuo and Mabuchi during break which was much better than her trying to seduce them instead. In fact, this day was one of those days. Kazuo and Mabuchi were sitting in the classroom eating lunch when Kayano suddenly sat down beside them as she usually did.

“- Hello guys! What’s up? Stressed over the upcoming tests? “ Kayano always seemed energetic as she entered the conversation which could still be very surprising. Of course, not as much for Kazuo who knew about both her personalities.

“- Nah, it’s alright for me, dunno about Kazuo though since he hasn’t even been able to pass the tests from last term… “ Mabuchi was always quick to tease when Kayano was around.

“- Ahaha, really Kazuo?! You better get that done! “ Kayano wasn’t acting too much out of the ordinary but Kazuo still felt like she had something in mind when sitting with him and Mabuchi.

“- Yeah yeah, stop bothering me already… “ Kazuo looked away from the two annoyances as they started talking about something else and noticed Haruka was peaking at him. He met her eyes and quickly realized she wasn’t peaking but glaring.

*- Whoa… She looks unhappy… Maybe she’s jealous she can’t talk with me during school, hehe. “ Kazuo smiled a little as he was feeding his delusions and noticed Haruka glaring ay him even more.

“- Hey, whatchu lookin’ at? “ Kayano asked as she tried to look where Kazuo was looking.

“- Ah, nothing in particular, just thought of something. “ All the sneaking about for two weeks had made Kazuo used to telling lies, of course Mabuchi still knew.

“- Oh…? By the way… You two wanna go with me and two friends to check out the new cafe by the mall? “ Kayano smiled.

“- Sure, I’m on. “ Mabuchi looked at Kazuo with scheming eyes directly after answering.

“- Uh… I have homework. “ Mabuchi wasn’t necessarily lying but he knew very well that the homework wasn’t the main reason.

“- Ah, come on Kazuo, you use that excuse way too often! Spare us some time and tag along! “ Kayano leaned towards Kazuo looking at him.

“- Yeah… it is a little suspicious, isn’t it? “ Mabuchi also leaned towards Kazuo.

“- Hmm, that’s true… “ It looked like Kayano was starting to think about it a little too hard then Kazuo would like.

“- Ugh… Alright, I’ll come along… “ Kazuo figured going along would be less risky.

“- Yay! Let’s meet by the gates after school! “ Kayano stood up.

“- Sounds good. “ Mabuchi also stood up as the lunch break was ending soon. Kazuo only nodded as Kayano and Mabuchi went to their respective seats.
