《End Game[EG]》Ch 8:Training

"I earned 1000 points?!" Keiichi was surprised when he looked at his current point count.
"It's because you completed the first daily quest. You know, mortals call it beginner's awards." Yato said.
"Beginner's Award?! I almost died in that damn place!" Keiichi exclaimed.
"Look on the bright side, you're still alive."
Keiichi didn't know how to refute Yato's words, so he kept quiet.
"What will we do?" Keiichi asked.
"Well, I'll teach you how to build your energy core."
-
Yato and Keiichi were in an empty room. This room was created by Yato to help Keiichi in his current training. Within this room, the speed of learning was increased many times over. Keiichi paid 1000 points for this room. At first, he was hesitant to spend 1000 points for a room; however, the room benefits were very good.
"Ahh! Why the hell is this so hard?!" Keiichi said, with a slightly angry expression.
"Don't lose concentration." Yato said. It's been 7 days since Keiichi started his training session.
Currently, Yato was teaching Keiichi how to build an energy core. An energy core has the function of storing, creating and absorbing mana. Normally, the energy core is located in the body; however, Yato was teaching Keiichi to create a core of energy in the soul. The soul was the main essence of most beings. An energy core located in the body can be easily destroyed; however, an energy core located in the soul was much safer and more practical.
"Don't try to see the soul inside your body, the soul is not inside your body. The soul is something that makes up your existence."
"It's easy for you to talk!" Keiichi saw no sense in Yato's words. He closed his eyes and refocused. The mana gathered in his right hand, creating a green sphere of energy.
"You're doing well." Yato said.
-
Opening his eyes, Keiichi realized he wasn't in the empty room Yato had created. Looking around, he saw his soul. He recognized his soul, because Yato had described what it was like.

After Keiichi finally understood the basics of the matter, he finally managed to insert his core into his soul. The feeling was very strange. Keiichi's soul was a representation of his physical body—but with no physical features other than the humanoid shape. The soul was immaterial and incorporeal. He tried to touch her, but his vision blurred, when his vision returned to normal, he was in the empty room with Yato watching him.
"I got it!" he exclaimed.
"Well, your time was 2 weeks and 5 days."
"Ehh?! We've been here for almost 3 weeks?!" Keiichi was confused. He was so immersed that he didn't even see the time pass.
"Don't worry, the weather on your planet is unaffected."
"Whew!"
-
"I feel… much stronger!" Keiichi felt an unbelievable strength welling up in his body.
"Your body is much stronger due to the creation of your energy core. Check your status" Yato said.
"Status."

"My general power level has increased!" Keiichi exclaimed.
"Yes, you have the power to destroy skyscrapers or even city blocks if you use 100%. You can also use your Hell Flame for more than 5 seconds." Yato said.
"Incredible!" Keiichi felt that his evolution was spectacular.
"Don't get happy so quickly, you can only do that if you use Hell Flame. Your means of combat are very limited, so I'm going to teach you basic magic now."
Keiichi could only cause high levels of destruction with Hell Flame, because that was the only skill he had. He would also have to release all of his energy explosively to carry out such an attack. Keiichi didn't know how to control the Hell Flame, so the only thing he could do was release it and try not to die from the destruction the flame would cause.

"Understood!" Keiichi didn't get discouraged, he got even more excited.
"500 points."
"Huh?..."
"500 points for the training room. Or do you want to train in your room?" Yato said.
"You are… a crook!" Keiichi said, with a helpless expression. However, he still paid for the room because the room benefits were so good.
'I'm poor now.' His points were zero.
-
"The first step in performing a spell is to use your imagination. You need to know exactly what you want to do. The only limitation a spell has is the user's ability." Yato began his explanation.
"You can use science to improve your magical abilities. Mages who have scientific knowledge—can develop better in their early stages." Science was important to beginning magicians.
"Science?!" Keiichi was confused by Yato's words.
"Yes, especially chemistry and biology." Yato threw several chemistry and biology books at Keiichi.
"Read everything, your training starts after that."
"W-What?! I thought you were going to teach me magic! Why the hell do I have to study?!" Keiichi was outraged. "Can't you just transfer all knowledge to me mentally?"
Keiichi knew that Yato had powers that affect the mind, so he speculated that Yato could transfer knowledge using this power.
"Yes, I Can." Yato replied.
"Then-"
"But I don't want to. Learn it yourself. I'll just come back when you've finished reading everything. Goodbye." Yato disappeared.
"Wait- Damn Yato!!" Keiichi exclaimed.
*Sigh!*
"Well… there's no other way." Keiichi picked up the books and began to read. The books weren't very long, so he wouldn't spend that much time reading.
-
After Keiichi finished reading the books, Yato taught him about elemental magic. Magic was not just elemental magic; however, it was the easiest type of magic for beginning mages. Elemental magic was composed of 6 elements—however, two of these elements were so powerful that few entities could use them, so Yato only introduced 4 elements to Keiichi: Fire, Water, Earth and Air. Keiichi was very apt to use fire magic, because his body has undergone minor modifications due to assimilation with Hell Flame.
Keiichi spent another full month in the training room. He learned how to use the element of fire and air. The fire and air element was an excellent combination, because the two complement each other.
-
"Whew! It's finally over!" Keiichi looked at his room, which was in the same shape as before. He had spent a total of 1 month and 7 days in the training room. Despite being tiring, he felt a sense of accomplishment when he managed to do his first spell. He reached out with his right hand and gathered the mana in his hand. The mana color started to turn reddish into a spherical shape, then a fireball was created in Keiichi's palm.
"That's it!" Keiichi showed a smile. He never got tired of that feeling. Doing magic was just amazing.
"Is this really the basics?" Keiichi asked Yato who was beside him. He didn't understand what would be more amazing than doing magic.
"You only learned 2 basic elements and you think it's powerful? There are so many things that go beyond that." Yato replied. Even considering a lesser god, Keiichi's power was so small that it wasn't worth even 0.1% of his effort.
"Well… if you say so." Keiichi didn't give the matter much thought. He turned his back and went to sleep. In the training room, he didn't need to sleep; however, now he was in his real world.

Midthalion Saga
+++Working on new chapters. Share what I've posted with your friends and family! Be sure to build strong bonds with those who are important to you. We only have each other in this world for so long!+++ Can Roderick XXIII gather together and train a party of adventurers to clear out Madeon Caves and bring peace to the wildmarches of Midthalion? Sent from his home monastery in the west to the wildmarches of Midthalion, Roderick the Holy Avenger is devoted to living out his oath to bring the Holy Light to the dark corners of the world. He enlists the help of an old friend, Ulrich Vogelbrandt the dwarf druid, to train and prepare a fighting force capable of defending the west from the evil they both see gathering and growing in the east. Eoroth is an ode to Tolkienesque epic fantasy, Robert E Howard and H.P. Lovecraft's pulp fiction, and Gygaxian Dungeons & Dragons. I like to write about serious topics because I think it's fun. I hope it makes for a fun read. Place: Eoroth, a vast, flat world with many continents set in oceans that reach out and mingle with the Celestial Sea. Our story takes place on the continent of Thalion in the middle, unsettled region called Midthalion. Peoples: Races in Eoroth aren't different species; the species of man is just incredibly diverse, consisting of many known races (and perhaps some unknown). There are no humans in Thalion. Thalion's races include variations of elves, dwarves, halflings (billowits), pierros (clownish men), bergeracs (long-nosed and swarthy men of honour), orcs, trolls, goblins, and hobgobs. The Church: There's one dominant religion in Westhalion. The faith of the elves is an analogue to Roman Catholicism while the dwarves practice an Eastern Orthodox analogue. (Forgive me for not having figured out names yet.) The practitioners worship a triune god (the All-Father, Son-of-All, and Holy Light). There are many powers in heaven, all created by God. These include the Twelve High Thrones, individual, created beings who take on the role of guiding mankind in different aspects, drawing them closer and closer to God. (That should be the essentials. I could write pages on the theology. Comment where something's unclear in the story.) Natural World: There are plants and animals in Eoroth, but the world is also inhabited by spirits called aeons. Aeons are transformative beings; in the wild, they'll change based on whatever is happening nearby. Pollute a pond? Expect to see toxic toad-men running around. Leave a bunch of dead bodies strewn across a battlefield? Expect the place to become haunted with ghouls and ghasts. Druids are important for making sure that the aeons are pacified; that their needs are met so that they don't become rampaging monsters. Where the wilderness becomes overgrown, so too do the aeons. Aeons and People: Long ago, men learned how to trap aeons in stone tablets and use them for war. Now, anyone can capture an aeon into a special staff made by a druid. Men train, raise, and bond with these aeons. Druids often build entire ranches devoted to raising healthy aeons as allies and companions. Aeons are divided into twelve known families, and the church sees these as corresponding with the Twelve Thrones in Heaven. Direction: My goal is to get the story to one million words by June next year. I have tons of content in mind for the world. I want to release novels set in different ages of the world depicting different historical events. I hope to expand the setting into a tabletop role-playing game as well as a series of old-school JRPGs. But, it all begins with writing some stories and publishing my novels.
