《EX-Tier Loser (GameLit Fantasy)》2. Status

Surprised by the voice that sounded inside my head, I looked at Rena. Our gazes met as I saw her scared expression that was rare for her, considering her brash and courageous personality.
"Y-you hear that?"
"Y-yeah, you heard that too? That fucking voice that talked inside our head."
I nodded my head at Rena's words.
'What happened?'
When I was thinking, I felt the wind blowing from the sea and I covered my eyes with my hands. I opened my eyes again after the wind died down.
At that moment, I saw something unbelievable. The human-shaped cloud that was in the sky moved its arms.
It crossed its arms and looked down on us. It saw us with its blank face, looking at us as if we were ants in his eyes.
The voice talked again inside my head. I could see Rena plugging her ears with her hands out of the corner of my eye.
"Damn it! I can still hear it clearly!" Rena shouted in anger and then extended her right hand to the sky.
"Stop that you fucking bastard! Just talk normally and don't use that fucking trick!"
That was Rena, alright. She instantly regained her courage and talked back to the voice.
As if the voice heard what Rena said, it changed the way it communicated. The wind blew again, and I somehow could guess what happened next.
The white face that was made from a cloud now had something like a mouth that was made from a rainbow.
It was smiling with seven colors, and then the rainbow parted.
I heard the voice with my ears now. The uncomfortable feeling that I got earlier when the voice talked inside my head was now gone.
It was talking, and it was the source of the voice earlier.

Without pausing even a moment, the human-shaped cloud's rainbow mouth moved again.
"What is he talking about? Lack of progress?"
I muttered aloud. I didn't understand what happened, and certainly, Rena was confused too.
"Victus, just focus on hearing it right now."
Although she was confused, she was able to keep her calm. She understood that this was a serious situation, as there was no way something like human-cloud could be made with the current technology.
Everything that happened so far was only possible if the human-shaped cloud was God.
Status?
As in Status in Society or Status inside an RPG Game?
But, I saw this as my chance.
I was a loser, and it was hard to change my position because I had nothing.
No talent, no wealth, nothing that I had was superior to any other people. Weak, Loser, that was what defined me.
However, as a loser, I still had a dream that I wanted to achieve.
I wanted to be a winner.
"You must be fucking kidding me," Rena spoke in an excited tone.
It was rare to see her getting excited over something. So I looked at her and caught her grinning.
"Victus, you heard that, right? This is a chance for Outcasts like us to rise."
What she said was true.
She said 'Outcasts like us.'
Even though she had a kind father, we were still Outcast.
She was an orphan that was adopted, so she usually mingled with other orphans like me or her boys in the gang.
Because all of us were orphans, she called her gang 'The Outcasts'
Society at this age hated orphans, they looked at us as if we were below them.
They trampled upon us while promising to help us - They were hypocrites.

Orphans were used as a political tool, as a means to better the image of the officials.
After saying all of that, the human-shaped cloud disappeared and the sky turned normal again.
The clouds were scattered in the sky.
However, I was focused on one sentence.
'Enlarged the world? Could it be because of the earthquake earlier?'
For some reason, I became calmer than before. My brain worked more efficiently than before.
I looked at Rena and she was standing idly while looking at the air in front of her.
Maybe because she noticed that I was looking at her, she turned to me and said.
"Victus, try to say 'Status' inside your mind."
Rena was smiling while pointing her index finger to the air in front of her.
But, I trust Rena. So I followed her suggestion.
'Status'
A translucent blue screen appeared in front of me after I thought about Status.
On the blue screen, my name was written on the top.
Following my name, there was something else.
