《True Essence》Mysterious ruins

"How many times do I have to tell you not to abuse the power of resilience, I already explained to you that the damage you receive doesn't disappear, it simply increases your limit, when you stop using the essence and it returns to normal, all the extra damage will weigh on you." said Anna to Lina still on the floor.
"When that happens you'll probably spend the whole day sleeping, and then your father or I will have to replace you by delivering the orders, and you know that always creates problems. Do you remember the last time this happened? I took your place delivering the orders, and because of that I had to spend the whole day listening to the customers complaining that the food wasn't the same anymore, and how the happiness of their day was to eat the food I cooked. Anna said.
Upon hearing what she said some people in the bar remembered that day and felt a chill, some then began to speak, "It's-it's true, I don't know what my day would be if I couldn't eat Miss Anna's food." "Yes, I agree. And besides Mr. Balkan cooks very poorly." " Indeed, I don't know how a person can cook as poorly as even he does."
Hearing this Gen said while having a fit of laughter, "Pffft, You indeed, haha, c-cook, hahaha, very bad, hahahaha!"
Balkan shivered as he heard what everyone was talking about, and said with difficulty, "I-Indeed, I-I cook very badly." He finished by letting out a sigh but as he looked at Gen, who was still laughing, he sawed his fists and asked, "How long are you going to laugh!"
"I'm sorry, hahaha, but you have to agree, cof cof, that it's very funny to hear that, cof cof." Said Gen, knowing that Balkan was probably the best cook in town.

"I understand." spoke Balkan with a but calm expression, "here, take it." said Balkan passing Gen a drink.
"Cof cof, thank you" spoke Gen and then took the drink, "Pffft, cof cof, BALKAN!" Said Gen as he realized he had again taken the cactus smoothie.
"Now we're even." Said Balkan satisfied.
Gen was still annoyed, but put it aside and went back to paying attention to Anna, who was still hearing compliments about her food, and complaints about Balkan's.
"I understand my loves, and of course I will not leave you without my food, but this creates other problems. Although he is not a bad person, your father gives a very bad first impression, even when I met him at the tournament I thought he was some kind of wild animal. This makes customers who come here for the first time afraid, some don't even come back," Anna said.
"Can you see the problems this will create for our business?" Anna asked
"Yes mom, I understand." Answered Lina
"If you are going to burn out like that, at least let it be against someone strong, like Gen for example." said Anna and pointed at Gen.
"There you go with that mom. Gen doesn't even have an essence, how can he be strong?" asked Lina rolling her eyes.
"That's right Miss Anna, I can manage, but I'm not strong enough to fight people who have essences." said Gen, leaning back on the counter.
" I wonder?" said Anna and at the same time started walking towards a table.
Everyone at the table stood up and then walked away from the place, Lina took the moment to stand up. Anna picked up a fork from the table, looked at it for a moment and threw it in Gen's direction. The fork went past the side of Gen's face and stuck in the wall behind the counter. Looking at Gen Anna noticed that his expression remained the same, as if nothing had happened.

Seeing this Lina looked at her mother and said, "See, he didn't even react to the fork you threw. If you had aimed the fork at his forehead, he would be dead now," Lina said, proving her point.
Anna looked at her daughter and said, "You lack experience," and started walking toward the counter. On the way she passed the table Lina and Raja were at, picked up the drink that caused this dispute, and said to Lina, "Clean up the mess you made and finish delivering the orders, then come to the counter I'll let you have some.", then continued walking towards the counter.
Hearing this Lina said with a huge smile on her face, "Yes ma'am." and began to do what her mother had asked as quickly as possible.
Upon reaching the counter Gen spoke to her, "Miss Anna, please don't do that again. You almost hit me with your fork!"
"I'm sorry Gen, I was just trying to prove my point," Anna said smiling as she looked him in the eye.
Gen looked away and decided to change the subject by asking Balkan, "What about the supplies I asked you for? Are they ready yet?"
"Yes, I'll get them for you," Balkan spoke and walked towards the kitchen.
After Balkan left Anna started talking to Gen, "So the day has finally come."
" Yeah ..." said Gen thoughtfully.
"How long have you been preparing for this again?" asked Anna trying to remember.
"it's been three years." Spoke Gen nostalgically.
"Wow how time passes. You need to be careful in those ruins, people who come back from there always say they don't remember anything, when they come back of course." Said Anna with a serious expression as she looked at Gen.
"I know, but I'm willing to take the risk." Spoke Gen looking into Anna's eyes.
Looking into Gen's eyes and seeing his determination Anna sighed and said, "All right, it's not like I need to worry about you, right? You will use it as a last resort, won't you?"
Hearing this Gen looked at her and said, "I don't know what you're talking about. Use what?"
"Gen, I don't know why you're doing this, but if you're dead nothing else matters. Ultimately you have to use it," Anna said as she looked at him.
Gen opened his mouth to say something, but gave up in the middle and thought, 'I wish I could ...', and then immediately spoke, "What about my food? I need to be well fed to withstand the desert heat."
Anna looked at him, sighed, and went into the kitchen. Just then Lina sat down next to Gen, propped her elbow on the table and her face on her hand and said looking at him with a smile on her face, "Hi big guy."
"... Good morning Lina." said Gen a little annoyed.

Immovable Mage
What do you call a mage incapable of casting spells? In this story, we usually call him Terry. When the boy is accepted into Arcana Academy, his talent in the pillars of mana foundation awes everyone. All the bigger is the eventual disappointment when Terry turns out to be an utter failure at spellwork. Diagnosis? Major aspect impairment. No cure. Ever. Faced with expulsion, Terry is blessed with the unexpected kindness of others. Terry loses his spot in the Academy but in exchange, he finds a home with a family. Terry starts to train as a pure mana cultivator but never stops looking for his own path as a mage – day after day, season after season, always searching for compatible spellwork… Until finally, Terry’s perseverance earns him a single spell – the only spell he will ever be able to cast. Disclaimers: Chapter Frequency: I aim for one chapter a week. Chapter Length: I try to keep chapters between 3000 and 6000 words. Binge Preference: I plan for 30 chapters per arc. If you want to binge a complete arc, then that is the number to wait for. I will also add a line to chapters indicating the beginning and end of an arc. Advanced Access: I have created a patreon page with early access to four chapters for patrons. What to Expect: Progression fantasy with a western fantasy setting and with eastern fantasy elements. A main character that is forced to explore a very narrow path of magic due to a permanent condition. A main character that is a part of a larger cast. A main character that is growing but won't become the strongest around anytime soon. A story following a single main character but with introduction or theme setting scenes without the main character. What Not to Expect: Edgy grimdark characters – I will never write a sexual violence scene or gory descriptions of torture. I hate reading it and I would hate writing it even more. Romance – romantic relationships will never be the focus of the story and only appear in the background. The main character is preoccupied with other stuff. Other forms of relationships (family, friends, companions) play a bigger role. Cover: The cover art was commisioned from redditor Linh-Nguyen87. The font is alita brush by Inovatype Typefoundry. Overview: 001–030 Arc 1, Cultivating Perseverance: complete. 031–060 Arc 2, Undying Defiance: complete. 061–090 Arc 3, Unyielding Fury: scheduled for publishing. 091–120 Arc 4, Savage Hope: scheduled for publishing. 121–150 Arc 5, Self-Made Fate: first draft in progress. 151–180 Arc 6, Heretic Style: sketching in progress. Further Arcs are still in the sketching and idea collection phase.

Cheaters Always Win
Chester Everheart knew that life wasn't fair. Some were born in situations where it was almost impossible to succeed, whereas others were born with a silver spoon with everything at their disposal. A scant few were dropped into another world, filled with monsters and magic and forced to fend for themselves. The latter was a rare, somewhat ridiculous trope; but it happened to him anyway. Despite this he followed a motto that applied regardless of the dimension he was in. Playing fair is for suckers, and cheaters always win. Cheaters Always Win is a comedy-adventure that I've had churning in my head for a couple years now. I'd like to think it still has the charm that most LitRPGs have while also being unique in its own way. Every arc of the story will subsequently have a 'Level Complete' chapter that details all the stats, levels, equipment, etc. gained by the main cast of characters. Hot Guy Cold Guy
Two exiles are forced by circumstances to travel together. Well, or one forces the other to follow. Hmm, no. One chooses to follow the other. Ah, forget it. It depends. Anyway, life is an adventure. Life in fantasy much more so. But, as in real life, some characters just seem to bumble foolishly along. Skah is one of those people. Meanwhile, others take it too seriously. The clash that comes from forcing these two people together can only be described as an adventure.

Demonizing Matters
A high fantasy drama about a young woman who finds out a demon secret. This secret sparks a growing conflict between demons and humans. While trying to save her own life and dealing with the unexpected consequences of her actions, she falls in love with a hated demon. We follow the drama of Lita, alongside a cast of several other POV characters, as she discovers secrets (both open and purposefully hidden), makes well intentioned but sometimes disastrous decisions, and encounters prejudices and truths. Demons may be evil… or not. Humans may be good… or not. God is aloof… or not. Publishing every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. This is my first real work! Super excited to be publishing! I don’t spend a lot of time describing gore, sex, trauma or any other type of scene that would be labeled as mature. I've labeled the story as mature in every way more because I don't quite understand the standard and don't know if I've crossed the line at all (and I'd rather be safe than get my story rejected for under labeling ;)). Mostly I hint, start the scene then interrupt/fade out, and in general let the reader know it happens but without making it too explicit. (I’d love to hear how I did on this! And if it was still entertaining/informative without being traumatizing.) This is what I prefer to read myself so that’s what I write. I’m not apologizing. ;) If I mislabeled my mature content it was by accident. And, yes, the pacing was also on purpose. Beyond that, I welcome any feedback you want to give! Enjoy the story!
