“When players enter the game, their bodies exit the cycle of life and enter a you could call “dormant” state in which if they die, their sould is lost forever in the infinite cycle of torment called “germination”. Where after a few million years in that cycle, they can finally enter the cycle of life, but with a sacrifice.”
-Teachings of Life by Draconian Proffesor, Earnest Althimer
After hours of searching for a decent place to stay in, I give up and decide to treck further inland away from the storm. The plant life, surprisingly reminds me of a lot of earth’s. And sadly, the weather, reminds me of Seattle Washington… My home town. Casting the thoughts out of my mind, I continue heading away from shore and deeper into the wilderness.
After painfully trecking uphill, then downhill, then uphill for what seems like hours, I finally arrive at a notable spot, It’s a beautiful clearing in the woods about twenty-eight metres in diameter and has a tiny little hut hidden under a great oak tree. By the looks of it, the shack is run-down and abandoned, the roof, by the looks of it having have collapsed years ago.
I decide to go inside, wading through the moist waist-tall grass with flowers spekled in-between. Once I arrive at the house, I notice the gaping sinkhole in the middle of it. From inside, I hear scuttling of tiny feet and suddenly – wait – that can’t be right – there are yells of help coming from the inside! Suddenly, I jump in the ten foot deep hole and run towards the screams which seem to be coming from a cave leading to the side. While at it, I draw my sword and almost as if by instinct, cast the fire-shield mid-sprint

After running for couple seconds, the cave takes a sharp turn right and opens up to a massive cavern the size of a house. Inside, there is a large cage conaining three humaniods who seem to be the ones screaming for help while in the middle of the encampment, there is a formidable bonfire roasting what looks like on of the humanoids. Around the fire, are huddled seven goblins each holding what looks like, bones!? Suddenly, I am distracted by the humanoids who are screaming for me to pass them their weapons.
The weapons, are laying against a log next to the cage. The weapons seem to be composed out of a longbow, longsword, war hammer, and shotsword. I pick up the longbow and hammer and throw them in the cage. The first humanoid – oh wait, their elves! Takes the hammer and smashes through the flimsy wooden cage. The other elf, takes the longbow, exits the cage, takes a arrow out of the quiver strapped on his back, and starts sniping the goblins. The third elf, takes his shortsword and starts charging the goblins, pushing one in the bonfire, and stabing another. I also decide to charge the goblins, and together, as a team, we kill the rest of the goblins.
Level Up! Congratulations! You have gained two levels and leveled up your skill in the shortsword to 3!
My attention is suddenly attracted to an elf walking up to him. They seem to be tired, and hungry…

Exponential Mana Regeneration
When the Change occurred, humanity suddenly found itself with superhuman constitutions and the ability to use mana. All the government leaders had known about it beforehand and had made an announcement, so there was little strife and instead excitement to loot the dungeons that the Change had created. Kyle Anders was incredibly excited when he saw his starting skill, called Exponential Mana Regeneration, but his excitement quickly waned when he realized it was almost useless with his starting mana pool of twenty. He had nearly given up hope on being a mage when his family got him a new skill for his 18th birthday. Suddenly, with his mana pool expanded because of the skill, Kyle’s mana regeneration shot through the roof. But while humanity worked hard to loot dungeons and increase their skills and stats, Change was coming, and peace cannot last forever. The story is currently on haitus. (This story is a work in progress. As the first story that I have ever written, the beginning, especially the first ten chapters or so, needs heavy editing. I have decided to continue writing the story instead of going back and editing the beginning. I hope that despite all its flaws you will still find my story enjoyable.)

The Successor
The Immortal God Emperor is dead...yet his Successor will one day arise. The worlds had long moved on from the greatest Cultivator of all time. The things that had been achieved and the advances made in the Immortal God Emperor's absence were nothing to turn one's nose up at. And yet, something was always missing. Because Cultivators, no matter the goals they pursue, always bow to the greater power. They seek it, they covet it for themselves, and they serve it with reverence. Shan Kai Lan was born into such a world. Born to two herb farmers whose cultivation did not surpass the Foundation Realm, yet who loved their son more than anything. Kai Lan was a child blessed by the Spiritual Plain, far more gifted and more intelligent than others his age. Yet the more profound his achievements, the greater the likelihood that his happy, peaceful life would be trampled on by those who desired his potential for themselves. The question of Kai Lan's journey becomes not whether he will reach the highest peak of cultivation, but what he will be forced to do to keep his young Clan, and the happiness it provides, at peace. Greene's Monthly Contest
most writers don't have enough recognition. most of them only win awards based on the general aspects of a story; genre or theme, judged by the same things, not appreciating the genius behind the chapters. same awards, same results.--and we disagree with that.
