《Where is my head, Haro?!》Chapter 4 - I don't like bangee jumping

"Flowing water sound" I find myself walking with my new small body on a calm sea that seems to expands to infinite in all the directions, but not forward, where the sea it narrows and remains as a path to walk on undulating like a snake. There is no day nor night, only the sea can be seen as much as the immaculate white fog offers visibility. From the middle of the path the water comes out and flows towards the round edges, falls and loses itself in the white fog without hearing a sound as if, somewhere in the fall to nowhere, it touches something. Something feels wrong. A moment ago I was home and now I'm here. Here where?! I walk on the path and look frightened at the edges, walk and walk till the vast sea behind me is lost in the fog. "Footsteps on the water" After walking a while in front I see the path divided into two. In the right, the path made of water seems to be replaced by one made of white and smooth clouds... in the left, the fog seems to lose its pure white composure being replaced by a terrifying black mist. Look at this, what fool would go to the left? Me not. Damnn, I want home. Let's hurry. I choose to go on the right path and make the first step looking at my small legs. Suddenly I notice the black mist that starts to surround me. The feeling of cold and fear entering my body made my heartbeat go crazy. Looking forward. I was on the left path. I couldn't move anymore and opening the mouth to scream felt like taking a large amount of water in... leaving me without breath for a few moments every time I tried. "Hearth beats fast." The path starts dragging my mobilized body like a treadmill forward into the terrifying mist. "Sound of an evil laugh" Now everything that is around me is black mist. There was nothing more to be seen, only the water path that drew me deeper and deeper into the abyss. My eyes are the only part of the body that can still move freely. So if this is how it's supposed to be... I will use them. Blink once. Blink twice. Blink trice. I see my own body from the distance. Like I'm a spectator and also a player. This feels strange. How can I be here and at the same time be there... Wait a moment. This "me" starts approaching to the other "me" standing on the water road. But I'm not in control of it. A thought appears in my mind. The head of my body that stands on the waterway turns slightly towards the other "me" with pupils of eyes dilated. Don't tell me that I'm looking at me from the perspective os someone or something else? That thing goes In the blind spot of my body and when it reaches a distance of about 6 meters it draws a sword made of skulls. It slices me in two. The upper part falls on the left side of the water road while the bottom side falls on the right side with the intestines still intact. Both parts of the body are in free fall but due to the intestines that are still trapped by the bodies, the upper part of the body descends while the lower part is raised. When the bottom reaches the edge of the water road, it freezes for a second, causing the upper body to do bungee jumping. I wake up sweating with the blanket on my face making it difficult to breathe. Oh my... it was a nightmare. But that felt so real. I check my body to be in one piece... Safe! Uh... It is 5 AM and my mom is gone as usual at the sick or injured people in the village to watch over them. She learned to make low-grade medicine with common plants from her grandfather and can also use healing magic. She is most of the time home when I wake up and I can't go to check the books in the library because my parents don't let "play with them" and I can neither let them know that I have the intelligence of a 17-years-old kid. From what I've seen here, people who have over 15-years-old are considered adults. I get down from my parents' bed and walk to the living room. We have a small house, in fact, all the people in this village have. I saw the conditions of the people in this village when my mom took me to the village center to buy food and some houses have big holes in the roof some don't have doors. Lucky, the old woman Helha who almost blown us up, enchanted a few magic stones and placed them around the village. In this way, everyone is safe from the beasts the only threat being thieves. Iron River Village was once one of the few villages that could provide high-grade medicine. When King Matthias, his family, and his trusted people got assassinated 7 years ago by an unknown organization, other nobles decided not to have another king to rule the Kingdom of Etenland themselves. With this, everything changed. The citizens were separated by status and ranks. The ranks could be "brought" with wealth giving them many advantages, some ranks cold even prevent the one who has it not to get blamed no matter how many common/peasant/slaves killed. Those who were against the changes had their seal taken (the same as taking their rank), their propriety and they become peasants ( relatively poor person who works as a farm laborer ), commoner, if they could rise a sustainable wealth or slaves if they couldn't do any of those. The taxes raised making many people starved, the slaves trading was legal and people with wealth use them for amusement ( competitions with cold blood ), brothels, personal maids, personal guards and many more still unknown. The people who got their hands on a powerful seal monopolized the resources under their jurisdiction ( treasures, dungeons, magic herbs, magic stones, etc ) making some of the cities/villages lose their economy. That was the case of Iron River Village. Dad is a busy man, he works all day. Seriously, when he leaves for work, I'm sleeping because It's morning and when he returns I'm sleeping because It's very late. I try climbing on the wooden library ladder to take a book that attracted my curiosity. Today I think, the hunting party was assembled. When this happens, dad goes for hunting the magic beasts around the village. I thought he was free today but I guess that's not the case, hehe! The hunters take every valuable item they find like fur, horns, claws and the most valuable thing... the core of the beast they kill, then everything is shared between the hunters and the other people who guard the village in the meantime. After the items are shared people can exchange them for food and other necessities provided by the traders who come in the village if they get here in one piece. The space between the steps of the library ladder is too large. I can't climb. System, help me take that book! "Searching for the best option... Master could use the Fast Teleport skill." Thank you, system! "The pleasure is mine!" I look at the book that is on the 4th shelf and I focus my mana in the left hand and I stretch it to the floor. From the tips of my fingers appear small lightning bolts creating a magic circle that spins like clockwork. A gate the size of the book appears right next to it and sucks it inside, a second passes when another gate appears on the floor leaving the book where I pointed my left hand. The book's name is "Whisper, Gift of Lost Worlds". ** From my perspective. "Oh yes! I know how it's sais about not judging the book after the cover, but this black cover with strange letters on it sure looks like it's not ordinary at all." ** From dad's perspective who stands at the entrance in the living room for a while ago. Shig cast the Fast Teleport magic. "Aiiaaaa guu.. hiuuuuaas feeeeaaauu uuuuiiiwe" My son can use magic, I can't believe my eyes! That is not a common spell either, It must be at least 4th tier magic spell. What should I do, its extremely rare for such a talent to be born? "Maybe should I play a teacher to teach him... " He grabs his head with his hands. "What do I think about? He is just a kid! No, not even a kid, he is a baby of 3 years and 6 months!!!" Ahhh I need more time to rest "sobs". This job is sucking all my time and my life. Stops grabbing his head and look proud at Shig who is playing with the book. ** Back to Shig's perspective "Sound of footsteps" I get scared when I feel something grabbing me from my waist. It's dad. Wait, why are you home? I said surprised Shouldn't you have something to do... like hunting? He takes me in his arms and carries me around with a happy face thinking about the talent that I have then suddenly stopped as if he realizes something. We are currently on the other side of the room on the window-side where the sun poop-up among the branches of flowering trees sending dozens of little yellow, red and orange rays through the window. My dad grabs me again from his chest rising me up towards the window and say with a serious face: "Hey, kid. Your father won't let you down! "

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)
