Diocensse, the world where humans, dark/white elves, orcs, ogres, demi-humans, (...) lived together peacefully till 500 years ago when The Great War started. That was was not for defending the weakest but a war for the possessions and territories, a war that humans started by giving false information, fooling those who trusted them. Before there were only one kingdom and the human race wanted it all.
They've lost so much, they've lost their homes, lands and many of them were enslaved and many were killed.
The remaining ones of this race had to hide in the woods for a long time until they've become strong enough to recover some of the lost lands that with some time before the war began, was prosperous and gave the people hope through its beauty. But now, It is just a cemetery of the great fallen soldiers who fell in the fight with the supreme enemy, the human race.
The only chance for this race to survive was the creation of a new kingdom and many followed their example. Thus, the five kingdoms were formed. Kingdom of Narkira (human kingdom) in the west at the border with Dierzan (demi-humans, orcs, ogres, etc) in the northeast and Kingdom of Elerinelo (elves, spirits, golems, etc) in the southeast, Ului and Aethir being positioned in the south and even if they are the smallest they are considered the most dangerous because of the entities living there.
Deep in their heart, they knew that not all people wanted this, they knew and yet they lived with hatred that didn't seem to fade.
Two persons that seem to be royal guards open the huge doors of the throne room while another person dressed in servant clothes entrees in a hurry.
The attention is directed to the servant.
"Your Highness!" bends with respect
"What is it?" shows curiosity
"Princess Saphielle Naeyra requests an audience with her father, Your Highness!" sais the elf servant
"She may come!" and make a sign with his hand letting the servant know that she's free to leave
The servant leaves the throne room and the Princess Saphielle enters while the magic globe still shows the images from the Iron River Village witch is almost done for.
She arrives in front of his father and the royal adviser on the right, making a bow worthy of a princess.
"It's nice to see you, father!"
"What brings you here, my daughter? You visit me here only when you need something. What is it?"
She notices the magic globe.
"Father, may I ask what are you looking at?" looking curious
He glares at the magic globe and then at his advisor who looks back at him and shakes his head very slow as a sign of approval.
After that, he takes his left hand from the magic globe and puts it on the mouth coughing, trying to make time to find his words.
"Since this winter is so long, I asked Sir Daren to find the cause. And I was right when I thought that this winter was not something natural."

"What do you mean, father?" climb the steps to her father who sits on the throne
She looks right into the magic globe who displays the battlefield and the remaining people alive who struggles to survive.
She remains silent.
"After making some researches, I found that some kind of super high tier magic spell is the core of this problem and I sent some people to go to some specific coordinates in the south of Narkira Kingdom where they found that a mystic creature appeared recently." He pushes his glasses on his nose
"So the creature has the power to change the weather?" she asks
"Not really, our scouts said that the creature was very agile so they didn't see how she looks like but they felt its aura and it wasn't that strong to be able to use this kind of spell. What we know is that this creature might be the cause of the massacre in this human village." looking in her eyes
"Please Saphielle, leave us for now. We have something important to talk about!" said King Theodas trying to change the subject
She looks again at the magic globe seeing a little boy with his mom being followed by the evil creatures, and then she turns her eyes at her father.
"I want to save him and his mother! We can't just watch how innocent living beings are massacred, please..."
"It's a human, they deserve it for what they've done to us." trying to avoid eye contact by looking at the big doors behind her
"I won't help some traitors. This is my last decision!" he leaves the throne room to do some other things
In the throne room, the princess and the royal advisor stare at each other. She curls, then bend her head and looks at the floor, turns around and stares at the advisor again. Daren followed her with his eyes trying to not laugh at this moment of her strange behavior because he can't predict her reactions.
"Say something, help me!" she bends slightly holding her hands on the sides of the dress
"Cough, cough... Princess, with all the respect, even if I'd want to help the poor creatures, I can't because It's not up to me."
"Ughh, fine!" she leaves the throne room angry
"The big doors are closing"
"Uhh..." I thought that I will get myself killed under her pressure. Why does she want to help this boy? Does she need a pet soo badly? breathe while placing his hand on his chest
When exiting the throne room, four royal guards whose armor is made of a material stronger and lighter than the metal, with many sharp edges pointing downwards giving the impression that it wears garments made from leaves covering 90% of the body, the chest plate having the emblem of the elves (a tree whose branches surround a half-moon) drawn with a bright yellow, the same color with which each edge of each piece of armor is made, get in the position ( going in rows of two guards ) and escort the princess following her from a close distance.

"Guards walking sound"
"Psst, Jayphu!" sais the right rear guard to the front left guard
"What's the matter, Aleiuudaj?" looking back slightly
"Isn't our princess adorable? I don't why she is upset right now but this makes her even cuter!!! Haha-"
"Don't speak so loud, she will hear you!"
"Just look at her, look at her ears. They turn red at the peaks when she's upset, it's so easy to read her emotions and her reactions are a blessing for a man's heart. Don't you approve me, guys?" looking at the other two royal guards
"Don't ask me... " said Ayas, the left rear guard
"I agree!" said Aimar, the right front guard
The princess Saphielle Naeyra stops.
The royal guards froze and the two talkative guards swallow their saliva.
"Gou, cou- gh." she pretends to cough
She starts walking further ears becoming totally red.
How dare they make me... make me blush in a moment like this. So insensible, "Don't ask me..." (sais Ayas), so rude... I hate men!
At the small table, three elders gather together with the current king who has just arrived. The king sits on his chair and gives the globe to a servant who, in his turn, places the magic globe on a golden stand, adorned with precious stones of all colors that look very much like a goblet that is positioned in the middle of the round table.
The room where the four are located "Chandelier Room" is quite small in length and width but very high, so high that the candelabrum with candles hanging with a chain above the table can not light up to the ceiling. The room is also very isolated, the walls being made of brick on the outside with 2 layers of wool and a wooden wall on the inside so that the precious information does not leak.
"I'm sorry to make you come here in a hurry, but this can't wait for long." Said the king looking at everyone
"We don't mind." sais Reluvethel
"Yes, this is our job, after all, to help you take difficult decisions." sais Rhalyf
The magic globe starts shining, then it shows the "cemetery". Corpses lying on the ground, hundreds of zombies marching through the streets, a kid alongside his parent being surrounded.
"So this is why you made us come here in such a hurry?" reply Delsaran showing contempt
"I see that our king forgot that the humans destroyed peace between the races, killed and raped our daughters, granddaughters, separated the families and banished us from our land that I lived for years. I heard that many of ours are kidnapped to be sold as slaves by humans, and what is our king doing? Save humans? What a shame!" said Reluvethel looking angry at the king
A strong light came out from the globe that illuminates for a second all the room and gets the attention of all. In the image that the magic globe shows it can be seen that the boy is now floating and the ground trembles.
All remain amazed, with their mouths open and Reluvethel starts sweating.
"Wow what a powerful kid, to be able to levitate at this age. We should help him!" said Reluvethel sweating and trying to smile at the king
"What are you talking about?" sais Delsaran amazed of the sudden change of his opinion
"We should vote this." sais the king
"Even if we vote to go, the gate might be open too late for us to save anyone. It will take some time because none of our great magicians have any memory of that place so we'll have to wait." sais Rhalyf
"We should try!" responds fast Reluvethel
"Who wants to vote for, rise a hand!" sais the king
Reluvethel, Rhalyf and the king raise their hands.
"Thanks for your collaboration!" said the king as he gets up from his chair and goes to meet his royal advisor
Reluvethel, Rhalyf, and Delsaran leave "Chandelier Room" soon after the king and Rhalyf noticing also the sudden change of opinion of Reluvethel, stops him near the palace exit by placing a hand on his left shoulder.
"Reluvethel, we are friends, aren't we?"
"Yes, of course, we are good friends. Why are you asking me this?" looking concerned
"What happened to you back there? Everyone knows you to be stubborn and no one hates the human race more than you do so why have you changed your mind so fast?"
"Ah, it's nothing! Don't worry." smiles as he part ways with Rhalyf
A few minutes earlier...
The magic globe starts shining, then it shows the "cemetery". Corpses lying on the ground, hundreds of zombies marching through the streets, a kid alongside his parent being surrounded.
This fool, after all the suffering he wants us to help some worms. Even he does not say it loud, he wants to help them... this is the reason for this meeting and the reason of creating this council... he can't just give the order alone because he would get all the negative thoughts of everyone so he uses us to have an excuse.
"So this is why you made us come here in such a hurry?" reply Delsaran showing contempt
I won't play in his hand anymore. You want others to decide for you? I will happily help you.
The globe starts shining.
Reluvethel covers his face with his arm and looks sightly up.
What are those???
Near the ceiling, some silhouettes dressed in black with are hanging by ropes in an attacking position standing upside down.
They pull out their daggers.
The light goes down while Reluvethel makes eye contact with the king who sends him a little smile as a warning.

Keepers of the Neeft
The Indigo Empire has conquered half the world’s nations, their people, and their gods. According to its citizens, old and new, the rest of the world will follow. In the capital of the Throne-home, the Imperial Academy produces the next generation of great leaders to drive that expansion. Cadryn Bence knows he will be one such leader, he’s overcome his common birth, mixed heritage, and every other obstacle to be the top of his class. He dreams of glory on the southern front against the Gravanik States. He will not be finding it. Instead, if the glory he expects. Far to the north, lies the unassumingly named North-Eastern Extreme Frontier Tower, a backwater post if ever there were one. Through the machinations of the Emperor’s state religion, and a cult within it, Cadryn will find himself on his way to this first assignment. On the frontier, Cadryn will discover that neither his campions, nor the Neeft itself, are what he expects. Follow Cadryn on his journey to discover many truths: about himself, about the Empire, and about the very world he call home. ****** Keepers of the Neeft is a (bit dark) fantasy story revolving around Cadryn and his journey of discovery. There’s a fairly wide cast of supporting characters (his fellow Keepers) all with their own reasons and motivations behind how they came to be at the Neeft. Current release plan is to have part 2 completed, then fully edit up till the end of part 2. I am in the process of editing the earlier content as I complete the updates/re-writes. Apologies for any rough content in the meantime. My primary objective with Keepers of the Neeft is to work on developing content flow and establishing a community of people who enjoy my writing style. I write SF/F and horror as my primary genres, Keepers is actually my 3rd novel length work, but my current project. Updates of new Content will currently be in the form of one larger post on Tuesdays.
