Chapter 19: Gyphos vs. Minotaur
Gondocks was on the ground dying. The medics came but all too late. He was about to die!
“Excuse me, let me through” yelled a young man. “Let me through, I know what’s wrong with him”
The medics turned around to see Mitchiel approaching them.
Mitchiel quickly and professionally explained to the medics what they need to do to help Gondocks.
“Since he changed his blood flow in his body due to the harsh training he gone through, you need to use the lofus tea plant leaf and use it to calibrate and calm his blood flow. And you need to give him a blood transfusion and quick”
“But it doesn’t matter if we give him the blood transfusion, he would die anyway since he doesn’t have time” explained one of the medics.
“No, you don’t understand. He changed his blood flow when he was training in order to master [Hawk’s Time Spec] and just now, his blood flow changed again. So, what we need is to change his blood flow to its normal flow, once we do that, there will be a certain time his body will recalibrate itself, during that time we need to hurry give blood to him and when blood is given, he will get better if his wounds are treated and bandaged properly”
“He would have narrowly escaped death, albeit barely” concludes Mitchiel.
“I have never heard such a detail explanation of blood flow especially since it is the [Haw’s Time Spec] skill we are talking about. Thank you very much, young man” said the chief of Medics, as he and the others rush to do what Mitchiel told them to do.
“Where is the lofus tea plant?” asked the chief to one of the medics.
“It should be in the bag. It was one of the healing plants we carried with us just in case” explained the medic as he searches through one of the bags. “To think the lofus tea plant could be used in this way as well, I was not aware”
“The lofus tea plant does has certain mysterious effects as well” explained the chief. “Anyway we need to hurry and save as many lives as possible!”

“Hoohoo” said Orlandis. “Well, that was one match to watch, ladies and gentlemen. Now, let’s welcome team Trident and Skyblue to the stadium”
The crowd did not cheer. The colosseum was deadly silent.
No one was saying anything at all.
Everyone was staring at the Trident Team.
Ever since the YAMAC started in Ryoukai town, the neighboring regions had been fighting to gain approval of participation to the YAMAC. Team Trident was one of such team.
They do not originate in Ryoukai town, therefore, they are not welcome here.
They are outsiders.
Even though Team Trident has proven their strength on multiple occasions, no one really like them. They played dirty, unfair, and always make their opponents suffer before they inadvertently kill them.
Team Skyblue was considered a decent team. They had a good amount of strength and influence in Ryoukai and even in the southern region of Ryoukai.
But what they lack was particularly strong fighters. Team Skyblue would be one of those teams that are neither powerful in YAMAC nor weak.
They are usually in the mid-twenties in the rankings.
But unfortunately for them, “one of their members were missing”. A common trend that has been spreading for a while is that, whichever team that Team Trident gets to fight against first, that team is always “missing a team-member”.
It is still unknown as to how Team Trident would come to the knowledge as to who they are going to face first.
Suspicion is place on the YAMAC’s administrators, but with no evidence, there is nothing that can be done.
The team member would not be found until a couple of days after the YAMAC dead. There were would be no evidence linking it back to Trident.
But everyone knew it was one of the many tricks Trident rely upon! But the worst of it was that, Trident did not “make their first opponent’s team member disappear” because they were afraid they might lose to that person.
They did so for their amusement!
They loved watching their first team opponent tremble with goosebumps and sweat as they decide which of their remaining members is going to face off against Trident.
-------
Team Skyblue have no choice but to participate as Battle Royal instead of teamwork.
One of the rules of the YAMAC is that, if your team is missing one person, you can only play as battle royal.
Which means, it is going to be one member of Team Skyblue vs. Trident.
Trident was not a team to be underestimated.
All of their Clan Members at one point or another dominated the YAMAC since their five years they have been on it. Trident was a ferocious clan in the northern region of Ryoukai town.
They were viewed as extremely dangerous.
The team that have to face against Trident would have to force one of their members to go to the stadium.
Team Trident enjoy watching that moment.
It gives them such a thrill watching someone beg their very friends that they have known for years for their life. Since the member that would be going against Team Trident would not be that powerful and would obviously lose.
It was similar to giving a death sentence to your best friend. Trident enjoys that kind of bitter sweet betrayal story!

------
Team Skyblue argues and argues and everyone in the colosseum murmur their opinions about what’s happening.
“Will the Skyblue Clan step forward and decline participating from this year’s YAMAC thereby losing this ranking for this year and reapply next year?”
“But if they do that, Skyblue’s honor will forever perish. And since Skyblue isn’t that popular or have many disciples, since they are not that powerful yet, that will draw the Skyblue Clan backwards and their recognition and achievements might not get recognized”
“But if one of their members face against Trident, even though that member would lose, the Skyblue Clan would not lose face or honor”
-----
The Skyblue team sent one of their members out to face the Trident’s full wrath!
It was twenty-five-year-old woman and she was already crying before she even entered the stadium.
In only the beginning of the battle, the woman was humiliated. They tore her fingers, bloodied her shoulders, all to make her feel agony and pain.
The Trident members love to see people die and suffer.
The woman cried but it was useless. No one was going to stop the match.
Mitchiel could only avert his eyes and empty his mind.
The woman’s limbs were cut one by one, until she finally died. Trident didn’t even allow her to kill herself. They tortured her, until their fun was over, until they were completely satisfied.
After forty-five-minute the match, the one-sided battle or gruesome murder we could call it, came to its end.
Team Skyblue lost in the tournament. Their rankings would get analyzed and posted at another date.
-----
“Another fantastic battle to watch, ladies and gentlemen” exclaim Orlandis with a bright smile. “Now, let team Redzoo please come up please”
Team Redzoo arrived to the stadium.
They knew they never stood a chance against team Trident, but they also knew they could at least hurt them, make them bleed for what they did to that woman.
But team Redzoo could never be so wrong about their power-standing in front of Trident.
Trident truly was a ferocious team. They almost never use their skills to its borderline limit.
What team Redzoo thought was their borderline limit was nothing but the beginning!
Team Redzoo was completely annihilated. Not even their flesh remained. Their bones were barely recognizable and could barely be put together.
They were burn by their own specialty. Red fire like the color of their clan’s symbol.
The colosseum was eerily silent. No one could say anything. Not a even a whisper could be heard, and this killing intent was being radiated throughout the colosseum from everyone.
A killing intent so powerful, it made the very atmosphere and air intense.
But of course, no one stood up to accuse team Trident. Everyone held themselves back. Team Trident technically did not break “any rules” yet. They needed to wait.
After a good twenty minutes of silence, the atmosphere returns to normal. And the sounds of relatives crying could be heard. The families of those poor Redzoo team members wouldn’t even be able to have a normal funeral.
-----
“Well, now that this is over. Let’s welcome team Gyphos and team Minotaur to the stadium” said Orlandis with a smile.
The crowd was not really into cheering after what they have just seen. They seem to be trying to wake up from it. They seem to be unfocused and depressed. Some of the crowd did cheer though, but not all.
“We all knew what would happen when we signed up to participate in YAMAC” stated Reige to all his teammates. “We all knew, and even though we find what just happen to be disgusting, we must keep our emotions under control”
“Yes” responded everyone including Mitchiel.
“I know some of you haven’t seen those kind of things before, but it happens, and if it makes any of you feel better, let’s hope the next team, team Trident, has to face is a really powerful one that will wreck the shit out of them” said Reige.
“Yes, that would be awesome” stated Darley. “Those guys deserve to die”
“I completely agree” responded Timothy.
“Now, then let’s do this” said Reige bringing forth a wave of optimism.
“Finally our turn, huh?” asked Mitchiel to no one in particular.
“Yeah, it will be interesting, but don’t worry though, Tymo’s brother shouldn’t be here, as long as he isn’t here then we c-“
“Actually, isn’t that Tymo’s older brother right there?” asked Darley.
“Wha-?” asked Reige not finishing pronouncing his question. “What is he doing here?”
“Guess he came back to Ryoukai in a hurry. He appears to have just arrived” stated Timothy.
“Yeah, that’s what I think too” replied Darley.
“This is bad” said Reige. “I thought this year we were going to have an easier time; seems I was wrong”
“We don’t really have anything to worry” stated Timothy. “We have you and you usually rival Lamo’s (Tymo’s older brother’s name) power. So everything will be fine”
“I hope so; I have this bad feeling that something is completely wrong” responded Reige.
Team Minotaur made their way to the stadium.
Gyphos did the same.
The two teams stood facing each other across the stadium.
Hate, and anger fuel their eyes, but two pairs of eyes glowed with much more terrifying hatred than the others

No harem! I don't trust myself to make a harem feel natural or healthy, I never met any person who has a personality that can adapt and live in a harem for reasons that are not monetary, so I can't draw inspiration from real life. Sorry!; 2. The enemies will not be bland and illogically mean. Some may feel like that at first, but I will take great care in fleshing them out, trust me. You may end up hating some, but you won't be able to deny that they had their reasons for what they did; 3. I am using a paid (and expensive) automated editor tool, and I take longer to write because I take my time in editing the stuff. I am aiming to improve and I will not shy away from constructive criticism, nor take offense for no reason; 4. Characters will die and will suffer, some will get over the tragedies and improve, others will not be as resilient. 5. This novel has a lot of ground to cover, it is neither a short story, a manual on crafting, or the script of some action scene. There will be both time skips and oversimplifications of some actions for the sake of moving the story forward. Time skips will be more prominent in the first 30 chapters. I will describe crafting processes and fights with more detail if they are essential for the chapter; 6. If I took my time describing something, it's because it is important. I hate novels that waste time describing useless stuff. If you skim over something, the chances are that something in the future will not make sense. I am an adept of "Chekhov's gun" principle; 7. I already have 31k words on my auxiliary documents, I have a plan for the story, and I will not be making changes even if someone ends up noticing some foreshadowing and figures out what will happen. The story comes first. 8. I have a wife, a job that demands 9h every day and courses related to my job (lawyer) three days of the week, it's unlikely that I will be able to do mass releases at all. I will have a healthy amount of chapters to be able to post at least 1 chapter every day continually. Don't worry. 9. I will read all the comments. I will listen to all you have to say and will try my best to accommodate demands as long as they do not hamper the path I prepared. 10. There is an arc that spans the entire novel. Each volume will be an arc in itself while progressing a little bit of the main arc. Every arc will have one or more main antagonists. I think that's it! Thank you for reading it all. Have an awesome time reading my first novel!!
