《KFC》Chapter 4: I have a finance?

Lord Gu and Official Long stood like twin towers over the seated Trampas. Lord Gu rumbled in a deep voice, "Your son has attained the 5th layer of Qi refining. I am sure of it now. I have never heard of this Chon Xina spider monkey technique before however and this Kei Wifu Xi cultivation manual is unheard of as well. However, judging by the speed of his growth and the power of his martial art, it should be no less than the Sky level."
Official Long turned white as the color left his face, "Sky level? Son, how did you get this... Who gave you this these things?"
Trampas looked around and then pointed at himself, "Me? I learned KFC from the System and American Wrestling is on TV."
"Tea Di?" Everyone in the room looked at each and then Da Hei gasped and stared at the Young Master.
"Da Hei, do you have something to report?" Official Long asked hurriedly.
Da Hei quickly moved over and gave his Master a deep bow, "Master, this one went with the Young Master to the Fragrant Cloud and the Young Master asked me to call him Tea Dubuya. I now believe that Young Master's Sifu should be Tea Di."
Official Long and Lord Gu both slapped a fist into their palm and smiled at each other, "Little Long, fate has smiled upon your house." Lord Gu touched his forehead lightly.
"Could he be an elder from a sect?" Official Long looked anxiously happy.
Lord Gu ran a hand down over his beard while closing his eyes, "Mm, there is a good chance. If he is a loose cultivator his cultivation may be at the Foundation building level."
Official Long gasped, "Here in Baichi? Such a figure would see us ants!"
They both slowly turned and looked at the young man seated in front of them, "Little Long, perhaps his memory loss and strange manner of speech are only because of the rapid mental transfer of a great body of knowledge."
Official Long stood proudly sticking out his chest while posing triumphantly, "My Long clan has raised itself above the mid-level government official position I hold at last!"
Lord Gu nodded and put his arm around his brother-in-law's shoulder and gave him a half hug, "And my Gu clan another powerful cultivator as a pillar of support!"

"Um, excuse me, Father Long?" Trampas raised his arm waving his hand.
Both Lord Gu and Official Long stopped and looked at Trampas, "Son?"
"Yeah, so the System told me to go to school to learn about the world and I only have a month to get this done. Can you help me get a teacher?" Trampas lazily asked.
Lord Gu gasped and quickly grabbed Official Long's shoulder giving it an excited squeeze, "Little Long... The System must be the sect! Your son has hooked a great giant fish!"
"Old Gu, quickly find that tutor the Jade Lake Bai family used to teach their young Fairy. No, not just that we'll arrange for Tian'er to marry the girl as well!"
"The Jade Lake's Fairy? Yes, yes our families have that much face with Tian'er joining a sect that has sky-level martial arts!" Lord Gu laughed triumphantly tugging his beard down while looking to space. "Hold my wine, I'll be back by dark with a fiance and a tutor for Tian'er!"
"Right on, man." Trampas leaned back in his chair letting it tip back on two legs. "Not sure about the fiance thing, but if she's hot enough, what the hell am I right?"
"The Jade Lake's Fairy is said to be the most beautiful young women of your generation, Son. Even some of my fellow officials have looked into paying her marriage price." Official Long proudly looked at his son, "Your Uncle believes that with the status of your Sifu, my Long clan has the face to not only ask, but win her hand. This is a great honor for our family and for you."
"Hey man, I have been meaning to ask, what is this face shit anyway?" Trampas picked his nose as he asked.
Official Long closed his eyes and pretended not to see his son pick his nose in case he was going to eat it. "Face is your family's public honor. It is the value of our family name. Are we thought of as model citizens or clowns?" He turned his back with his hands clasped, "Don't worry about that Li family. We'll handle that matter. You just concentrate on learning and cultivating. Your sect will probably bring you in at the end of the month."
"Oh I gotcha, it's kinda like our Kayfabe. Are we the heel or the hero?" Trampas mused.

"What? No, I don't think you understand it then, I'll have the tutor explain it again." Official Long shook his head as he rubbed his eyes squeezing them closed as if he were fighting back a headache. He turned to Madam Gu and asked, "When is the Doctor going to check on Tian'er?"
"Next week, it seems." She replied softly.
"Damn." He sighed and then turned to look at his son. "Hopefully your brother is right and this is just a temporary phenomenon. Not that he was a genius in the past, but at least he sounded like he understood basic civility." He sighed again and then added, "Son, go cultivate in your room, we'll come and get you once we have good news."
Madam Gu and the concubines busily sent servants out to spread the gossip of their newfound connection to the System sect along with details like their Young Master's martial arts name and his Sifu's name. Within hours the names of System sect and Tea Di were spoken in every great house in Baichi. Young Masters all over town adjusted their hairstyles to business in the front, party in the back in case anyone from the System sect might cross paths and spot a possible talent. Making a connection with a sect was that important in a backwater city like Baichi.
Even all the way out at the Jade Lake whispers of the System sect were heard even as Lord Gu arrived to speak with the patriarch of the Bai family. Lord Gu was escorted into an old courtyard and seated at a small table with a Go board and two wine dishes. Lord Bai bowed politely and offered the other seat to Lord Gu, "Old Gu, what brings you out to Jade Lake?"
Lord Gu chuckled and took the offered seat, "It's about making a connection to my Brother in Law's family with your Jade Lake." He smiled and looked over the board, "Shall we play a game?"
Lord Bai nodded asking, "Black or white?"
"I'll take the black, thank you." Lord Gu took the offered bowl of stones and placed a single stone on the board. The two men then took turns placing stones until an intricate pattern began to appear on the board. A servant whispered into Lord Bai's ear from time to time.
Lord Bai cleared his throat and asked, "Old Gu, tell me, who is it that has eyes on one of my girls?"
Lord Gu lazily placed a black stone and then met his eyes, "Official Long's son and heir Long Tian. He is to undergo teaching of history, language, and the arts before he begins his training at the System sect. His Master Tea Di a foundation formation powerhouse has given him the assignment."
Lord Bai sucked in a breath, "You must want to speak with teacher Chen then, I will arrange for her to come to the Long Family in the morning. As for my daughter, I believe we should let the children meet, if there are sparks we can consider the marriage arrangement. Her mother won't allow her to marry a man who is just anyone. They have a certain standard for her in mind."
Lord Gu nodded and then smiled, "Lord Bai, it seems I have won our game."
Lord Bai nodded as he looked over the board, "It does appear as so." He looked into Lord Gu's eyes and smiled, "I wonder if you can see if the System sect can pay me a visit, my grandson Bai Xiang is something of a martial arts prodigy as you know, and it would be good if he could meet with a sect's Master for pointers."
Lord Gu laughed and grinned, "Lord Bai, come into town and visit my sister's home. It's warm and inviting and who can say who might come by as a guest, no?"
"This, then we will come and visit tomorrow. I'll bring my Grandson and his sister along." Lord Bai nodded rubbing a hand over his beard. "Perhaps my Grandson and Young Master Tian can have a friendly spar."
Lord Gu nodded and laughed, "Yes, yes, your Grandson would do well to see a Sky level martial art."
"Sky level! Are you sure?" Lord Bai gasped.
Lord Gu nodded and bragged, "Yes, it is the Sky level martial art Chon Xina spider monkey technique. Even Childe Li lost his life to our Tian'er."

My name is Joo In-gong. The name that my parents gave me meant ‘protagonist’ of the world. As anyone can predict, I was constantly teased due to my name. In kindergarten, elementary school, middle school and high school. If I went to university as planned then I would probably be laughed at there as well. So, at one point, I really hated my name. But not anymore. Now, I think slightly differently. Maybe being named Joo In-gong was a type of foreshadowing?

Necromancer and Co.
In a time before the existence of the present, the gods decided to create a plane of existence where all their creations could exist in the same place. In it, all would be fair, and all gaps between races and technological advancements could be crossed with a single system that the gods had created. Every year, the gods would choose a new race to put in their land, and in this new group of beautifully unlucky people, Alen, his friends, and a few people from Earth have finally met their turn to be tossed into the playground of the gods. Unfortunately though, Alen was thrust into a forest of corpse-eating bears and horribly smelly undead on his first day, one of the many danger-zones of the continent the gods had chosen to throw them in. It would be easy to say that he simply died within the first day, or that he'd starved to death or whatever, but let's be honest... That story would be no fun to tell, yes? (Re-write of my first fiction with the same name.)

To live is to Dream (LitRPG; First Draft)
A new Power has come into the World and seeks to change it. Being on the last dregs of sanity and full of alcohol Daniel West receives an opportunity to seek revenge. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------To live is to Dream is the second book of the Just a Dream series. You do not have to read the first to enjoy the second, but there will be recurring characters along the line. The first book features Mir, a man that dislikes how his current world appears and hence wants to change it. The second book will feature other people and how the changes implemented by Mir affect their lives. For those interested in my first book, it's easy to find it. Just beware that with the first book, it was my first time writing and there are a lot of grammar errors despite lots of editing, at least at the beginning of the book. The cover was done by Lmarief. I had requested something bizarre and she delivered. I have even used it as part of the story since her interpretation of my imagination was a bit different. Still, I loved it. As a thank you gift, I posted a link to her profile here for others who want a unique cover. https://www.royalroad.com/profile/220043
