Chapter 8: Eline’s idle talk

This morning, I notice something different, both my brother… gone.

I almost cry but Snow use telepathy and explain everything, rather than crying, I am in great mood. By the way, Snow and the other wolves is onii-sama underlings. Since they are useful and intelligent being, I like them. I don’t particularly hate animal but I don’t like them either. Make me remember a few years ago.

One day when onii-sama brings back an orange color cat, he gave it to me. I was confused and at the same time I was thinking why Onii-sama troubles himself to increase another mouth to eat while there are not that enough for us three. So I just let the cat go, after that he was sulking for a week about it.

I didn’t coax him but since he is older, he didn’t sulk for too long.

But now, he seemly clever than ever, I am proud that he brought back such useful underlings. And so, I ask the wolves.

“Where should we go?”

With Snow sat front of me wagging his tail, and the other wolves’ just lies happily next to me.

[We don’t know the town since we have been living in the forest up till now.] Snow

“If you say that, it also reminds me that I know nothing about this town too.”

Ever since I was baby, Reno and Kail nii-sama has been the one taking care of my necessity because of my complex health. Then, I am too weak to do anything which also makes it impossible to wander and venture to the town even if my brother is with me.

[If that so, then should we ask Emily-san?] Meg

“! Good idea, Meg~ let’s does that.”

And so, we head down to the inn to find Emily-san while I was still in pajamas. She is the inn owner’s daughter, even though she is more cute than pretty compare to other ladies, I like her because she is nice and understand me well enough even if I don’t talk.

Then I see her sweeping the first floor of the inn in front of the counter. I called out to her name but she seems to not hear me. So I called out even louder this time.

“Emily-san!”

“?”

She heard me and has been searching for the voice owner by turn her face left and right repeatedly.

Slowly I sneak behind her and jump on her skirt.

“Kya! Ah, Eline-chan~ Wolfie~ Good morning~”

“Good Morning~~”

“Awrroo!”

After she finishes her chores, she accompanies me eating breakfast. With a mouthful, I invited her to shop around the town. But then, she tilts her head a bit looking confused, and asks about money.

“I have the money.” I say and show a bag full with money amounting to 5 silver and 8 copper and 25 black coins. Again with a dubious face, she asks why I would have so much with me.

I explain to her that it was Kail-nii sama that give me the money, and he says to have fun. I also invite her to shop with me in exchange she must accompany me to the town since she know the town the best out of all of us.

“With that money, and by meaning of fun, shouldn’t we as fellow girl shop cloth first?”

That was her suggestion, and I agreed to it readily.

I went upstairs to change into my casual cloth that nii-sama has bought for me, white long sleeve t-shirt and black short pant with pink black stripped sock and pink shoes.

The weather is not hot nor cold, it just warm which would be perfect for outing.

Hence we head to a boutique, and start shopping. I ride on Snow while Emily-san walks together with the other wolves.

I pick two pair of short pant and three piece of colorful t-shirt while Emily-san has been staring to a dress for a while now without moving.

“Emily-san?” I called out to her name and she suddenly jump as if shocked, making me even more curious so I look at the dress.

It was frilly full of lace and ribbon here and there white and sky blue dress, then I look at the price, ah… so that is why she has been looking it without moving…

3 silver coins.

“Does Emily-san want it?”

“um… No, it is fine… should we go to another shop?”

“Wait, I need to pay…”

She waits at the outside of the boutique with Orb and Rem with her while I was paying for the clothes. But, it is kind of pity to see her like that since she was attracted to the dress so much. I’m sure that she would never have any cloth like that because the inn owner is too busy to care about his daughter preferences.

Since all the cloth that I pick cost less than silver, I have the shop owner to get the dress and I pay the money. With 2 silver and 8 copper coins exchanges, I also exit the shop. Then, I hand the paper bag with the dress inside to Emily-san.

“?! But, this is… (too expensive)…”

“It was the price for accompany me to shop~”

“Thank you, Eline~”

“Hehe, thank you too Emily-san~”

I have never had a sister before in my entire life, with only my brothers through out my life, I long for the love of sister and mother… Emily-san, when my brothers is gone working, she has been replacing their duty by taking care of me.

Without even having to talk much, she knows what I want and need.

To me, she is a caring and kind older sister, even though we are not related in blood. Then, to see her smile is soothing and makes me embarrassed a bit.

While we were walking at the street, the wolves suddenly attract to the smell of meat grilled and rush toward the stall. Even Snow that I was riding on couldn’t control himself.

“Are you hungry?”

“Awroo! [Yes~!]”

With the leftover money I buy them the meat and both I and Emily-san eat well with them while enjoying the view of the sky and the small park in front of us.

“It should be noon by now and your brothers should be back any time. So… should we head back?”

“Mmm… Let’s--”

When we was about to leave the park, a group of unknown men and woman block our path.

“Wouldn’t they be good price?” a man of large builds over 2 meter and dark skin chat with another member of his group.

“Yeah, the wolves are rare and big, they should suffice the amount.” The other man with short spiky dark blue hair nod in agreement and look at us as if he was window shopping.

“grr…”

Snow and the other wolves are in ready mode to chew on this group, while the group is busy chatting with each other and Emily-san besides me is shaking in fear, Snow orders the wolves to ruthlessly attack the group.

Snow stay closely with me and Emily-san while keep ordering the wolves direction and action. Unfortunately, no one could guess what would happen, the woman from the group cast a huge water ball and fills each one of the wolves inside and the others forward to our place and capture me.

I hadn’t a clue or know what could happen to us, because Snow was pinned by the large builds man and the other wolves are drowning inside the water ball…

Help…

“Stop it… let the wolves go… you are killing them…”

“Hah… aren’t they the one who want to killing us?”

Help… Kail-niisama…

I close my eyes as if giving up… suddenly huge and loud sound of grunting and groans was heard, when I open my eyes… I was shocked and let out a huge relief sound.

“Thank goodness…”

“… You… dared to harm my people…”

3rd person POV

At that moment, everyone onlooker could feel the shivering of Kail’s tone.

“P-please for-give us…”

The man that had his neck chocked by Kail begs for forgiveness.

“Ha?! Did I hear you wrong? Forgiving you!!?”

‘Crack’

Kail let go of his hand and the man went limp. That man is dead.

“UOOHH! Harluin!! You BAST--!”

The woman of frizzy hair rush toward Kail but how sad, she also receives the same fate as the man.

‘Thud’

The woman is dead.

Meanwhile…

“W-what happen?” Emily with her eyes wide open questioning an obvious answer to the situation. Then she happens to notice the man that was next to her has also gone rushing toward Kail with the man that was pinning Snow also rush toward Kail but with no need of magic and just brute force, Kail kill them both in just second.

The entire villain falls to the ground as if they were sleeping. With no sign of blood, the life of the five end just like that. Then Eline, calmly get closer to Kail and spoke.

“Onii-sama… It is sad to just leave the as it… ”

“… I’ll cremate them then…”

Fire appears to each corpse and burns them till pure ashes.

Kail then start lifting Eline into his arm and went to the other wolves to checking on them, fortunately not a single of his people hurts. Then he leaves the spot and gesture toward Emily and went back to their inn.

POV end.

[Kail]

“…”

The cold silent shiver everyone inside the inn including Barbatos and Emily the onlookers.

Currently I sat down to a wooden chair while drinking a cup of tea, in front of me is a group of wolves groveling.

Then I put down the cup, all of them are startled. Hence, I voice out my anger.

“Carelessness.”

One word, enough to make everyone jump out of fear. Even Eline that was behind Reno, both of them are scared hearing my tone.

“..awruu… (our…deepest apologize… master…)”

“… Think back, what would you have done if I am not there?”

With a cold tone voice, I glare down to them

“uuu…”

“I’m glad that today incident caught no one life flying, But!”

With a hard tone, they perked and entire fur stands.

“With only one! Carelessness! All of you are dead!”

Everyone’s tear start to flow down non-stop while thinking what could possibly happen if I am not there. Hah… I sighed after relent my rage and furious, I step forward and kneeled in front of them.

All of them had their eyes on me, and I smile wryly thus say.

“I’m glad… I really am glad… thank goodness.”

“Awroo… Awroo!! (Master… Master!!)”

Getting carried away, all of them jump onto me and start licking me all over. “Grr, get off! I’m still angry by your action! Therefore I will train ALL of You!” when I say that everyone cry “NO~!!” frustrated.

I have never seen him this angry before, but then when I knew he was angry for our own sake, I was touched instead of getting scared. Then, when brother Reno and the entire wolf pack, complain about Kail-niisama orders to train, I chuckled a bit.

After Kail nii-sama has become his usual cheery self, I tells him everything from the morning until recent incident. In a second, he had a gentle expression on his face but that gone to blank expression in split second when someone called out to his name.
