“What do we have here? Hmm… everything reads as normal.”
No longer under the effects of Magical E.M.P. (Electrical Magnetic Pulse) and can once again gain access to your [ABSORB] [ALTERATION] [CREATE MONSTER is disabled until Core is rooted] [MANA MANIPULATION] [GENERATE/CONSTRUCT] [RELOCATE] [ROOT] [SELF EXAMINATION]
[This message is automated, Please direct any and all questions to unit’s own [HELP] interface.] [Disabled cores control] “Ah I see something appears to be interfering with your daily allotment of Mana, but that isn’t too odd definitely nothing condemning for.”
"What are you doing to me? I’m not rooted, I can’t do anything. Stop it!"
[One time temporary mana injection succeeded]
"I’m not going to just let you do what you want with me. If I force myself to sleep maybe I’ll be able to jump start with control."
[Generate Stone]
All of a sudden my exterior is covered with stone, I can see nothing else other than stone…
"How did you do that, how did you make me do that? Fine! Sleep…"
“That works so that is not the problem. Okay, well if the error is about summoning creatures…” [One time temporary mana injection succeeded]
"I’m up again stop messing with me!"
“What is this? No Planar Entity detected? [No templates found] “Well you are a unique one; where are you?”
…
“Ah… strange, how did you get there… Well that makes this a little more tricky.” [Core restarts control] “No you don’t” [Template empty ERROR ERROR… NEW ENTRY FOUND] “Explicative, well that should work for now.” [TEMPORARY RESTRICTION REMOVED; TEMPLATE ASTRAL CHIMERA UNLOCKED] “Generate one Astral Chimera.” “Well that worked and yet it didn’t… how did you… well generation is a success. There is nothing wrong with you as you are, I’ll check back in an you in a while. It would be easier if you could talk, but that would be asking for too much.” [Core Control Restarted]

I hear a voice that is slow and gravely with a slight stutter Warm…
"What was that?"
Warm… Safe…
"Can you hear me?"
Warm… Yes… Safe… Warm…
"So apparently I have access to somethings I didn’t before that strange being silenced and possessed me."

Artificial Core #184 Exp: 0/0 / Dungeon Level : 0 Mana: 200/0
Status Effects:
Titles: [Artificial Core] [Born in Captivity] [Solitary Confinement] [System Shortcut] [Racial Profile]
- This being was infused with mana from an outside source once consumed or drained will not replenish.
- An outside influence caused the end of a cycle that couldn’t have been altered from within with the beings current capabilities. (A variable has been injected into a study and has lead to unforseen outcomes)
[Artificial Core] - This core is the first of the artificial cores that were purposely made by the ERROR to have gained intelligence.
[Born in Captivity] - Imprisoned; Has never had to fend for oneself the being is more likely to have trouble living on its own without assistance from others. (Lacks common sense or modus operandi of inherently known by race)
[Solitary Confinement] - Due to being imprisoned for much of your existence including a time when you weren’t sentient you have been awarded the title “Solitary Confinement.” (Effects include exuding an aura of the predator, actions that normally would earn you fame has a 33% chance of giving you infamy instead)
[System Shortcut] - System bestowed a core the use of an ability or abilities that allowed it to do a function that the core is currently unable to access on its own. (Re-unlocked Core’s basic capabilities)
[Racial Profile] - You were imprisoned not because of what you did, but what you are. (Infamy easier gained +50%, fame harder to gain -50%.)

"Sure.. that is more… Um…" [ABSORB]
[WARNING YOU ARE BEYOND YOUR MANA CAPACITY DO YOU WANT TO TAKE IN MORE AT THIS TIME? ANY ADDITIONAL MANA WILL BE SIPHONED OFF TO YOUR ENVIRONMENT OR LOST]
"No…"
[Alteration] Using alteration I feel an intuitive understanding and control to sculpt the stone. Connecting to the stone surrounding me initially I breathe through the stone making it porous almost sponge-like. The end result is that the stone has many pin prick sized tunnels that I can see through. When I relinquish control the stone becomes rock like again and is no longer something I can manipulate.
Not instantly, but as I stare out through several of the holes I notice a shift in the light. Something is outside my stone barrier but I can’t see anything…
See… Home protect…
I feel a mental shiver go down my non existent spine and yet I don’t feel threatened. I just feel like I’ve been seen naked. It feels unsettling uncomfortable, but I don’t think I’m in danger.
"Who are you?"
The voice sounds sad... Guardian… Want bond? Want Root?
Could you get me out of here if you root with me or bond with me?
Could try… Bond first… Root if find safe…
[Do you wish to bond with your GUARDIAN Astral Chimera Larva?]
Is it permanent?
[Bonding is a lesser potent Root, if a core is to break the bond there will be ramifications]
[Yes] "I will bond with the Guardian Astral Chimera Larva…"
The world goes black.
Explicative. (Raspy) ”RRREEEEEEE“ Did I just… "Orrrr ehh’h’h"
I take a breath in deeply and feel my chest expand at the breath. I look around and see a reflective surface and slither across the console. Staring back at me reflected in the screen are colorful displays that I don’t understand, as well as a terrifying leech covered in teeth and tentacles with a singular serrated circular maw surrounding a piercing orange eye. When I feel shock looking at my own horrific visage I disappear. Slowly the image of the Leech reappears.
Do not worry; together we are strong.

The Little Black Umbrella
Gillean had just lost his best friend and is feeling utterly miserable and lonely. Being smart doesn't fend off loneliness. If nothing having the combination of smarts AND the lack of forward planning got him into the state he currently was in - rejection and the feeling of being a failure. Cue in the sounds of angelic trumpets. RaRa, his best friend, returns to "save the day". Well. What she thinks of as saving the day that is. Corny ideals, lame ideas. The two get into one last patch of trouble together as they sneak back into RaRa's home. Just what kind of family secrets has RaRa been keeping from Gill. In blood and thunder, Gill finds out. Please read the content warnings (there may be spoilers within though) if you have triggers. Also there is a slight mention of LGBTQ+, so please don't read this short story if even a short mention bothers you. ======================= My first short story (It's short - 5 chapters, 10,000 word-ish kinda short! And also completed *self pats* that I will be releasing in mini chapters (of 500-800 words each) on Fridays and Saturdays.). Happy to hear actionable and constructive criticisms on how I can improve, but please don't be too harsh okay? :) I know it's not perfect. But hey, we all have to start somewhere.

The Last 100
The bustling crush of humanity had become common place now, the cacophony of voices and the symphony of a city had become the song and dance of our species. But it was not always such, and return back to our more humble roots we did.The system had come, and it had stripped us bare. Sure it had given us a means to power, but at what cost. We were the last 100 left. Night was falling on the human race, it was a dark night, and it was cold. But go quietly we would not. We would make the world burn with an inferno of our defiance. Rage, rage against that goodnight, and I Jack Casser, have rage a plenty. This is my story, the story of the last 100.Author Note: This story is a LitRPG apocalypse, woah fucking original idea I know but hear me out. If you can look past preconceived ideas driven by a stigma of overdone tropes and done to death plots of achieving world domination and self-righteous characters and give the story a chance I hope it can surprise you.

The WereLionesses Mate
She was running out of breath, but that didn't matter, all that mattered was getting away from him and proving him wrong. Branches scraped her face and her arms, her body burning hot; but cold from her sweat as the wind blew over her skin. Her pants soaked from running through the streams, her shirt ripped to shreds around her stomach from very low hanging branches. Her hair, a tumbling fiery mess of tangles, and waves slipping through the ponytail she had quickly fastened trying to tame her wild hair. Running and crawling on the ground through the forest floor, trying to get back to the camp grounds so Whhooossshhhh! All of a sudden a giant gust of wind flew past her nearly lifting her off the ground and throwing her into a tree. Where in the world did that wind come from? She thought, but she kept running like it had never happened. She jumped over a fallen log, ignoring the fact that she almost fell in the process. She zoomed past all the trees and sprinted over the roots coming out of the ground. She rounded another tree coming to a sudden halt at seeing him standing there with a drink in his hand laughing and joking. She stood there wondering how in the world he could have beaten her here; He looked at her then, He looked, well, handsome, his faced was clean shaven and his button up shirt was all unbuttoned minus the three at the bottom. She could still visibly see his bronze chest and the top of his ripped-hard abs. He walked over to her and smiled, showing all of his teeth, the smile reaching his eyes. His eyes were dark and stormy, their color was usually a nice honey brown but now his eyes looked mid-night black. They looked like they could kill a man at eighty paces, but could sweep a woman off her feet at the same time.
