Glenn led the group to the stairs that lead down to the basement. The group walked down the stairs and upon arriving at the bottom of the stairs, they saw a door. The door is protected by a code lock and a retinal scan that prohibits unauthorized access.

Glenn approached the door and punched the code on the num pad near the door, then a retinal scanner appeared at the peak hole of the door. Glenn leaned in for the scanner to scan his eye. After a few moments, the door was unlocked and Glenn opened the door.

Inside, Cliff saw a spacious hall that can handle a large number of people and at the middle of the hall is Rift Portal. Also, people are already inside the hall seated on the chairs prepared by the Tavern whose waiting for them to arrive.

“Everyone gather around! You can see we have arrived at the basement,” Glenn said as he gathers everyone’s attention. Glenn then ushered them to join the people in the basement, then he walked towards where the other instructors have gathered. Noticing that everyone was already accounted for, Rubia went in front of the group and stood on the podium that’s in front of the rift portal.

“Good morning everyone! I’m Rubia Vermillion, the head instructor for this year job training,” Rubia announced. Getting everyone’s attention, she began speaking again, “Now behind me is the rift you’ll be diving. Now everyone might be wondering, why there is a rift below the Tavern.” As she said, everyone was wondering why there’s a rift below the Tavern. Rubia smiled and wants to satisfy everyone’s curiosity, then she said, “This is an artificial rift that the Tavern R&D is developing. Using the warp technology from warper stations, they have created this portal device that can sustain an artificial rift. This will make it easy in the future to travel to rifts without the hassle of going to the place were the rift opened. However, you need two of these portals to travel; one for this side and the other will be inside the rift. This device will tear a hole inside rift and also this one will make a hole from our side. They will act like a wormhole that you can use to enter the rift. Since this technology is still in development, I would like to ask everyone to keep it under wraps for now.”

Everyone was amazed at how the portal works and how far technology has gone. Cliff gazed at the portal and was curious how portal was powered, so he raised his hand. Rubia looking at the group, notice someone have a question, so she entertained it. “You sir, what would you like to ask?” She pointed at Cliff. Cliff stood up, then said, “Ma’am I’m just curious how do you power these portals ‘cause I imagine that they consume a terrible amount of power.”

Rubia let out a hearty laugh, then said, “Yes! It does, but the people from the R&D figure out a solution.” Rubia took out a golf-ball size purple gemstone out of her pocket and held it high to show it to the group. “This is an Arcane crystal, these things power the portal we gonna use today. These are by-product produced by rifts, though most of the time these Arcane Crystals does not possess enough power to power these portals. However, the R&D department found a way to harvest high energy crystal,” Rubia said, but she did not divulge any information on how the Tavern harvest Arcane crystal.

Cliff satisfied with Rubia’s answer, he immediately sat down. Then, a guy approaches Rubia and whispered to her ear. Rubia smiled and announced, “Everyone, the portal is ready for transport! Remember the basics of diving your instructor taught you earlier. Also, we’re going in by groups, please line up by class with Slayer class first, then followed by the Juggernauts and lastly Supports.”

The group immediately grouped up by class and the group starts to be a little rowdy. After a while, groups of people started to enter the portal. Cliff and people from his group started to calm down, to prepare themselves for the upcoming dive.

After all the last of the Juggernauts dive thru the portal, finally it's their turn. Cliff was nervous for his first dive, he is trying to stay calm for him to avoid what was Glenn told them earlier. After a few minutes, it was Cliff’s group turn. Cliff and his group walk up towards the portal and readied themselves to dive.

Cliff was first to enter the portal. Something felt weird as he crosses thru the rift, he feels nauseous while passing thru it.

Still feeling a little nauseous, Cliff arrived on the other side of the portal and saw that some could not handle their first dive vomited on where they are standing. After the last batch of Divers, Rubia signal everyone to gather ‘round. They were in a spacious hall just like the basement under the Tavern then Rubia announced that they have arrived at Camp.

Then a lady walked beside Rubia and tapped her on the shoulder. Everyone immediately recognized the lady, she was Sidney Lewis.“I'm the manager of this Camp. Everyone follow me upstairs so I can give you a general tour,” Sidney announced. Cliff brushing off the nauseous feeling and follow everyone upstairs.
