《Travels of A Young Sorcerer》Chapter 4: Freedom for Azuran

Piedro, wandering around the town, has managed to beat up bandit after bandit simply searching for Konrad. It wasn’t until he was at the town center when he saw Konrad and the bandits towering over children.
“These brats keep on resisting us.”, said one bandit
“Well then, we need to crush their hopes.”, said Konrad.
“What are you going to do to us?” asked one of the children
“Not to you, but to your families.”
“Men, destroy that marketplace and the buildings there.”, ordered Konrad
“Yes Sir.”
Some of the bandits used earth magic to create giant hands which crushed the marketplace. Although there are people in the marketplace, none were seriously harmed. The attack appears to be a mere warning shot against dissidents.
Angry at this, Piedro charged towards Konrad. Despite his bravery, the bandits stepped in to defend Konrad.
“Boss, should we destroy him?”, asked one of the bandits.
“Of course. We need to get rid of him”
“Why are they calling you boss?”
“Well I’m their master. Do you really thing, I am just a low class bandit?”
Angry, Piedro prepared to attack Konrad, but was interrupted by the sounds of the incantation by the bandits.
Gaia, provider of life, give us your arms. Turn our opponents into dust.
EARTH MAGIC: HAND CRUSH
Preparing for this, Piedro used his sword to slice the earthly hands that emerged from the ground.
“Are you much of a coward to deal with me yourself.”
“Coward? You degrade me too much. No, I am no coward, but why would I dirty my hands to just get rid of you.”
Angry Piedro charged towards Konrad intending to kill him. The bandits blocked Piedro’s path but were swiftly cut down by his broadsword. One by one, the bandits fell from his attack until it was only him and Konrad remaining.
“Prepare to die”, shouted Piedro
As Piedro continued to charge towards Konrad, he was suddenly stopped by a gust of wind.
A wind sorcerer?
“Surprised? Have you ever figured out why I was able to tie myself so tightly, well, the wind is a very useful friend. It is the only friend that I will need.”
North, South, East and West wind, grant me my desires and push back all those who stand in my way.
MIGHTY BLOW
A strong gust of wind surrounded Piedro and was knocked towards the building behind him. With a loud thump, the blow placed him in a state of disarray. In spite of his condition, Piedro stood up defiantly towards Konrad.
“I thought you would take your revenge against me. I thought you are a strong person. I may have underestimated you, weakling.”
Summoning a gust of wind on his hands, Konrad threw them at Piedro damaging the remains of his armor and causing him to cough up blood.
“Is that all you have?”
Coughing, Piedro look at Konrad and flipped him off.
“Die, you asshole.”
With a heave of desperation, Piedro threw his broadsword towards Konrad, who easily dodged the attack.
“Well, then, goodbye old friend.”, Konrad snicked as he summoned another wind orb, with the intent to finish off Piedro.

“Not so fast.”
A huge shield spun throughout the area and struck Konrad.
“Lance, you ass. How dare you damage my face!”
Bringing out an old book, Konrad’s eyes turned to blue. He started summoning wind orbs in his hands and threw them towards Lance.
Lance had prepared for this and had enhanced his shield before engaging Konrad.
“Defensive Magic, huh? We’ll see if you like another attack. You stupid moron!”
WIND WHIP
A visible whip of wind was summoned by Konrad, who attacked Lance in an unpredictable frenzy. Despite the size of his shield, the unpredictability of the attacks was enough to flinch Lance. But it was still not enough to slow him down. However, Lance remained in a more defensive position, unable to find an opening against Konrad’s frenzied attack
“Hahahahahahahaha”
“Do you understand our gap, kid?”
“Yeah. I do. You’re weaker than I expected, Konrad.”
“How dare you”, shouted Konrad.
ATTACK REDIRECTION
The shield of Lance glowed and appeared to be attracting the attacks of Konrad.
“Every attack of yours is now directed towards my shield. You cannot hit me or even Piedro in this area”
Frustated, Konrad kept throwing up wind orbs after wind orbs to Lance but was unable to faze him. Just as he was about to give up, Konrad saw the group of children that they were harassing earlier.
Instead of attacking Lance with a wind orb, he decided to attack the children. Summoning a larger orb, he aimed it towards the children. Just as the orb was about to hit the kids, Lance leapt to intercept the attack, dealing a huge damage against him.
“Hahahahahahaha. Is there anyone who will challenge me?”
BLAZE OF FIRE
A sudden burst of fire magic hit Konrad. Looking towards that direction, he saw a young woman glaring at him with much anger. It was Morgana
How did she make it, thought Lance.
A few moments ago,
X--------------------------------X
Morgana was about to collapse was she was confronted by an old lady. She was offered soup and chicken.
Thank the heavens, I can finally eat.
“Thanks for the meal…”
“Call me Hella.”
“What is an old lady like you doing in this foggy area?”
“Well, truth be told, the so-called wondering fog is my creation.”, chuckled Hella
“Huh?”, wondered Morgana.
“Years ago, rascals would always go into my gardens to steal the food that I have grown. The farmed food in this area were not only for me and my husband, but for the town itself.”
Morgana simply nodded along and ate while Hella continued with her tale.
“I simply combined wind magic with water magic to create this huge fog. And it was thick enough to conceal the area. Even so, people would still sneak into this farm to steal food, even if they would wander around for hours on end.”, continued Hella
It appears that this town also has its mysteries., thought Morgana
“My husband created the myth of a wondering fog, designed to keep people lost. The townspeople were able to believe it since my husband has a reputation of being an honest man, and for those who tried to challenge the myth, they would inevitable get lost in the fog. Anyway, was my tale too long for you.”

“Not really Ms. Hella. It was a nice tale about the fog.”
“This town was beautiful before Konrad and the KorKhan Bandit Group invaded. We were able to feed the poor and the destitute. There is a reason why we accepted Konrad to begin with. We are the sanctuary for the unwanted.”
Morgana continued to listen intently
“Before the attacks, this area was filled with happy children. Some were abandoned, and some were orphaned. Sadly, bandits would also love to raid this town to take the children since they fetch high prices at the slave market. It was a good thing that Merlock is just on the next town. He would usually deal with the bandits and sweep them away.”
With a sip of water, Hella continued with her tale.
“These days however, Merlock is preoccupied with an important matter. We kind of understand why he was unable to help us. Thank the heavens that you have arrived.”
“You were expecting me?”
“Of course, aren’t you Morgana, the granddaughter of Merlock.”
“How do you know?”
“Well, he keeps bragging about you and your sister whenever he visits us.”
“And how do you that I am Morgana and not my sister?”
“Well, you’re not a part of any guild, while your sister Glindya is part of your grandfather’s guild.”
“Rats, I forgot to ask grandpa about the creation of a guild.”, Morgana panicked.
“Hahahahahaha. Don’t worry about it. You can simply register your guild at any official Wizarding outpost.”
“Huh, what is a Wizarding outpost?”, asked Morgana.
“You don’t know a Wizarding outpost?”, said Hella in a startled tone.
“Uhhhhh”
“Sigh, a Wizarding outpost is any building painted with a huge white hand.”
“Ohhhhh. Like the area where my grandpa would stamp some papers.”
“Yeah, that area. Anyway, we must go to the town center.”
“Sure thing. We need to get rid of those bandits, once and for all.”
X-----------------------------------------------X
“You’re evil ends here today, Konrad.”
“But, I’m not Konrad, I am Drakon.”
“You may look like Drakon, but the old lady told me that you are Konrad.”
Sighing, Konrad glared at Morgana, and immediately launched a gust of wind towards her.
MIGHTY BLOW
Ember Dragon flame, bless us, provide us protection and aid us in our times of need.
WALL OF FIRE
A large wall of fire surrounded Morgana, protecting her from the attacks of Konrad.
“Is that all you’ve got?”, taunted Morgana.
Slowly rising, Piedro saw Hella. He also saw Morgana fighting against Konrad.
“Why are you still letting a stranger fight our battles?”
“Piedro, it’s time to let go of your anger towards others and believe in your fellow humans.”, said Hella
“Hmmmphhh.”, grunted Piedro
“Look, Lance is also a stranger, and this girl has managed to knock out bandits and is now going against our strongest adversary”
Despite this, Piedro still wouldn’t let go of his anger.
Konrad was now launch wind orbs towards Morgana who summoned flames swords to slice them. Converting the flame swords into orbs, Morgana aimed towards Konrad. The orbs exploded upon contact with Konrad, scarring him.
Angry, Konrad unleashed his Wind Whip at Morgana who simply took the attacks, and charged towards the former to punch him in the face.
“You! I will end you!”
Looking towards Piedro and an elderly Hella, he aimed his attacks towards them.
Winds of change, heed my call. Give me your precision, strike every enemy of mine.
WIND BLADES
A gust of sharp wind is moving towards Piedro, slicing everything in its path. Until Morgana jumped towards it, slicing some parts of her body. Bleeding and with drops of blood oozing from her, Morgana continued to stand in defiance of Konrad.
“How could this be, you managed to stand up against my wind attacks.”
“My grandpa once told me one thing. A sorcerer is only as good as one’s body. And a stronger body will be able to withstand stronger attacks.”
While Morgana marched towards the direction of Konrad, Piedro was having a reflection on himself.
Maybe not everyone will stab you behind your back. Maybe some strangers can be trusted.
Piedro then yelled, “YOUNG GIRL, DEFEAT THIS ASSHOLE!”
Morgana, although heavily wound smiled at Piedro.
She then shouted, “Of course I will. After all, I will become the strongest sorcerer in the world.”
“Die you brat!”, shouted Konrad
Summoning large quantities of his magical energy, Konrad unleashed another attack.
WIND BLADES DOS
The slashes were more precise and was able to cut the strongest rocks in the rubble. But after that strike, a wall of fire has surrounded Morgana, Piedro and Hella, leaving them unharmed.
WALL OF FIRE
Looking sideways, he also saw Lance had recovered from the previous attack. He stood guard to intercept any attacks that he might do against the children.
“I had planned everything. How could this happen” yelled Konrad.
“Your tyranny will end on my hands”, said Morgana
FIRE STRIKE: FIST VERSION
Morgana covered her fist with a strong blaze of fire, aiming towards Konrad’s body. With all her might, she punched Konrad with her fire enhanced fist and knocked him out.
The remaining bandits sensed that their leader was brought down, fled towards the mountains, scared for their lives.
“Master Barone won’t be happy about this.”, said one bandit to his companion.
Who is Barone?, Lance thought to himself.
When the bandits were out of sight, Lance walked towards Piedro.
“We did it old friend”, said Lance to Piedro
“We need to thank the girl.”, said Piedro
Lance eyes widened, knowing that his friend is back to his old ways.
“If it wasn’t for her, we might not be able to defeat Konrad.”
“That is true.”, said Lance.
Morgana, although bloodied, smiled and put up a thumbs up symbol towards Piedro and Lance.
“Let’s tend to your wounds before you go”, said Hella.
KONRAD DEFEATED.
