《Dragon's Misery》The Celestial Temple
Advertisement

Thus we arrived at the entrance to the celestial temple. This temple was guarded and maintained by the locals in the sense that they worshipped from generation to generation the guardian whose cries they heard when the wind blew towards the village. They threw chickens, pigs and vegetables into an abyss and waited for the grunts to subside.
The keeper had to be fed so that he would not eat the village. Everyone feared him and statues of him frightened the people of the village and kept up their superstitions.
It was the crying I heard that interested me more than anything else.
The entrance marked the start of a cave complex with temples inside.
Razorback, who saw what I saw through a camera, if not through my eyes, used an eye to translate the symbols and transmit their meaning to me in real time.
Very practical.
We were entering an Olmec area, a lost and legendary civilization with a high mystical technological level. A bit like the Dwemers of Arcadia.
It meant terrible traps.
Every gem was a potential trap.
But I had my doubts about the Olmec thing. It looked artificial, from another civilization. This site was built not to guard or worship, but to kill.
In the distance I could hear cries of death or people dying from trauma.
We had to take a corridor to get to the main cave, which was much bigger.
The corridor had to be 4 meters wide and 4 meters high.
Everything was covered with creepers.
We're advancing cautiously and I'm holding Ricardo at the last minute.
He was going to cross a ray of sunlight that pierced a hole in the wall.
"Hey, what?"
"Look."
I took a stick and I put the stick in the sunlight and... Tchak a harrow of spears went through a crack and almost impaled us. An unfortunate skeleton was still clinging to the side verse.
We bent down and crossed the corridor, avoiding crossing the solar beam.
The corridor continued and we had to jump over a well with spiked rollers. If you fell into it, you grabbed the pins and turned the roller and a series of other lances would finish you off. It's a dirty trick. You don't know how to get a run-up and you have to use a creeper. But there are several to choose from. Which one to take?
I'll throw out a trap detector. They're all trapped. They're all in the red.
We'll have to climb the wall sideways. There are symbols on the wall and you have to put your hands and feet in the holes.
They're full of scorpions.
I turn around and I see Ricardo being petrified by big tarantulas on him.
I chase them away with my hat then I hear a click and a stone wall is sealing the passage if we don't hurry to pass the trapdoor.
I see the holes in red and the others unlit. I lean on the unlit ones. Hurry up Ricardo!

He almost put his hand on a red one, but I'll do his shirt.
We roll on the ground to get under the stone door that was sliding down and threatened to crush us.
We arrived in a hall but the side walls were sloping. A ball above was in bright red.
Here everything was red. It stank of death everywhere.
There was a pedestal in the middle of the room. This pedestal was illuminated by beams of sunlight.
On the pedestal was a big key. The handle represented a stylized dragon.
Ricardo wanted to step forward, but I threw a stone and darts came out of the walls, which were full of them.
"Hello, this is Razor, the signs on the floor correspond to the Mayan calendar, you have to walk on the tiles with the correct symbol.
Take the disc, it's unpronounceable!"
I dare to step on a slab, then the one in front of me turns and turns around and moves. I look for the next symbol and bang, the floor rotates in a circle and I find myself in the middle, it's to make sure we have the disc and not by chance.
I finally reach the base.
I see the key and I take it.
Then the base goes down and spears come down from the ceiling.
I don't know what to do. It's the Mayan disc that we need! but I only have a picture! we have to open the back door. i venture with the key into the mouth of the grotesque human statue and click, it tilts backwards.
Ricardo, I throw it in the hole and pass.
Ricardo breathless: "What strength for a woman!" But he turned pale and showed me my leg: an arrow was stuck in it. Like my dragon's body, the arrow hadn't penetrated my scales, but my skin like a human. I took it out with a sharp blow and he threw himself on my wound and put gauze on it. But, under the gauze, it was already closed. I let the unnecessary bandage do its work, but I had to keep my cover on.
So we arrived in a maze of corridors and ended up on a terrace above statues and mercenaries flanked by aborigines were gathered at the foot of a horrible statue supposed to be the devourer or his executioner ... I would opt for the executioner, question of bad taste.
"I, Pedro Dominguez," I proclaim loud and clear that I am the chosen one!
I am the guardian of the flame and the dagger...
The devourer is close and may have already woken up. Look at the disc. The disc never lies! The gems have never been so brilliant."
And he placed the disc on the chest of the goddess who killed the devourer.
His eyes lit up and the ground opened, revealing a fountain of lava.
Then he brought the mother priestess to the lava and all those who had opposed it.
"You fools have put us all in danger. You doubted the tablet! You say Eva is the chosen one. That's a lie!

I, the chosen one, will show you!"
He entered a cage and took the dagger.
A trap door opened and he descended into a cage which was lowered into the lava and then they pulled it up, the glowing iron bars and the glowing dagger too.
He was unharmed and out of the cage.
"There's your proof!"
Then he raised the celestial blade and all knelt down and called out the name of the chosen one.
And you traitors, do you have the blood of the chosen one?
And he drove one of the men into the lava and a terrible cry was heard, soon choked by the flames.
Mother: "But you're a monster!"
Pedro Dominguez: "No, I'm correcting your weakness."
Then he pushed a second one.
AAAAAAAAAAAAArrrrrrrrrrrrghhh, "SPluch"
BURNNNN
Paatch, made the head that burst under the steam pressure of the lava.
The others crawled to the ground, begging for mercy and claiming that he was the chosen one.
Pedro Dominguez: "Put them in the feeding cage for the guard."
"Nooo", they all screamed in unison, except the priestess who said nothing.
The Priestess was dressed in Inca costume with bone rib ornaments as a necklace, an Inca mitre and gold tribal jewellery, the nose pierced by gold rods and 4 chains.
Her face was covered with red paint and repetitive ornamental drawings in white.
This gave her a scary look.
The priestess turned around and saw the disc:
"Look at the disc Pedro, the red gem lights up, it's a bad sign. Maybe we all made a mistake."
Pedro, "Yes, maybe you're right, but the only reason I can see is that you're trying to save yourself."
"I've been like a mother to you. Why have you become so mean? I cradled you and even breastfed you instead of your ailing mother. Why did you do that? Why did you do it?"
"Our lives are meaningless in the face of the devourer. You're obstructing the mission to keep the only weapon capable of killing him."
"RICARDO, EVA, come here! I know you came in from the back.
I must congratulate you for getting here!"
We were spotted by aboriginal hunters.
They tied our hands behind our backs and took our belongings and put them at the chosen one's feet.
They threw us at his feet and we were on our knees.
Of course, I let myself go, I was having the time of my life. The more the merrier, the more the merrier.
Then some feathered servants arrived and I couldn't help laughing.
"Do we want to play rough? "...and he grabbed my chin, and I had my nose almost against his.
"You have bad breath. You'd better go to the bathroom and get some toilet blocks." I laughed.
Then he threw my head on the floor.
"Let's see if you're still laughing when you take the Chosen One test."
Then he bagged my disk that I hadn't put back in my magic storage.
"Ohhhhh, OOOOOOhhh, that's the original. We've been looking for it for centuries."
Then he turned to me and crouched down to have his head just above mine and he straightened me up by my chin.
"How did you get this? Where did you steal it?"
"HAHAHA, it was my grandfather who found it in the temple of Seth."
Pedro Dominguez: "And what else do you know? Were there eggs?"
"Yes, there were eggs"...
"SPEAK!"
"I do not know..."
"Ah, you don't know? Well, then you're of no use to me.
You're going to the guard's pit."
The blade is in the middle of the lava on a rock. If you're the chosen one, you'll get the blade and you'll have to face the Keeper.
You'll laugh less and we'll be fixed."
Me: "Chosen one, we're hungry. Can we eat a little before we die?"
"HAHAHA, Yes, I guess you didn't have time to eat on the shuttle.
"Let's bring them some food!"
They brought us a dish rich enough for a last meal.
I said, "At least you have a sense of hospitality."
Pedro Dominguez: "Roasting in lava or being eaten by the keeper doesn't spoil your appetite."
Ricardo: "Yeah, how do you find time to stuff your face when we're about to be killed?"
Me: "You'll see, I need to stuff my stomach for your safety!"
This last sentence rang in the priestess' head and she started moaning and crying...
Pedro Dominguez: "Mother, I thought you were stronger..."
From the cage below: "Pedro, I'm sorry, you were right, we made a huge mistake, but now it's even worse. She her. No, it's awful!"
Me: "Spare Ricardo, he took no judgment against you, he only related facts."
Pedro Dominguez: "I'm going to give him a chance...
Lower the cage!
And they took me down into a pit, where I could hear a draconian moan.
I approached the cage where the men and the priestess were locked.
Pedro Dominguez: "It's no use, you can't break the chain with your bonds."
And suddenly the ropes snapped.
Then I twisted the lock of the cage like a sheet of aluminum foil and tore off the bars.
All the men fell to my knees, and the priestess staggered and fell backwards, reaching out her hand as if to hide me from the invisible sun.
Mother: "You are not human, monster! You are not the chosen one ! We all made a mistake!
YOU ARE THE DEVOURER!"
Me: "Hahaha, SO????? Yes, I am the devourer!"
Mother Priestess: "But, you talk like us????? You are like us! How are you the devourer? You're just a very strong human who pretends to be the devourer. The devourer is as big as a mountain and he's a dragon."

The Blood Queen
The rain fell from the sky with ferocity and smashed into the pavement filling the air with the sound of a stampede. The noise was deafening as I struggled to stand up. The blood from my wound was covering the ground beneath me and I covered it with my hand as I pushed off the pavement. On my feet now I struggled to step towards the grass. Through the howling wind and pounding raindrops I could hear what sounded like a chant, calling me and drawing me towards the cliffs edge. "Vienna, my Queen, my blood Queen" I started to move my feet faster until I could run towards the edge. Only when I was at the edge did I turn and look back one last time at the castle behind me. I could see him standing on the balcony, he was screaming my name. I could just hear it over the rain. I unclipped my red cape and whispered goodbye to him. As he jumped off the balcony to run towards me I leaned backwards and let my body fall with the rushing water to the river far down below. I carried her whispers with me to the dark edge until they vanished.
