《The Before Of Afterlife: A tower climbing Litrpg》Chapter 4: Heaven!?

"Uh.."
What is this warm feeling all over my body?
"Umm.."
Is this heaven?
*Bam!* *Bam!*
Uhh. Who is making so much noise?
Turning to the side I opened my heavy eyelids.
*Bam!* *Bam!*
Immediately afterwards my half-asleep eyes open wide awake, as they catch glimpse of a beast banging its head in thin air, centimetres away from my stretched hand.
Immediately pulling my hands back, I looked at the beast again trying to recognise it.
It was the monster, the cross of lion and wolf. However, its once shiny black mane was now covered in blood as its head looked like a puddle of blood. Making it difficult to recognise if one doesn't look at its behind.
Taking deep breaths I calmed myself, looking at my situation carefully.
First of all, it looks like the monster isn't banging its head in thin air but rather the barrier. The once green barrier was now transparent, making it difficult to recognise if one didn't look at the sun rays reflecting on it.
Looking around the green beams once shining at many places weren't that much any longer. Only a few could be seen.
My injuries are all healed... Not even a mark is left! I couldn't help but exclaim at the fact that the shoulder once covered in blood with the skin peeled off was now back to normal, not even the dry blood left to remind me of the wound.
I stood up glancing at the wolf I turned around moving to the pond.
Looking at the clear water and the fishes swimming in the pond, my mood brightened.
There we go water check! Food check! Recovery check!
Now...
Looking at the monster still banging its head at the barrier. I tried to find any reasoning in the blood-red eyes... But found nothing.
Time to eliminate the danger.
Picking a pebble beside the pond I threw it at the barrier and...
It passed through.
Sigh.. that would make it easier.
*Grrw..*
Hearing my hungry stomach announcing its presence, I looked at the pond and the fish swimming in it. I could feel my dry mouth filling with saliva.
Getting on my knees I drank mouthful water from the pond, feeling the cold and sweet water pass through my oesophagus I let out a satisfied sigh as I quenched my thirst.
Whipping my mouth with my sleeves I didn't let the swimming fishes temper me as I got up.
Catching a fish, starting a fire, and cooking it will take time and...
Looking at the monster behind me still banging its head at the barrier. I walked to an area with trees at the clearing.

I don't know how long the barrier will last. I am not foolish to think that it will last forever. So before the barrier disappears I will make the threat disappear.
I walked around the trees, breaking some straight and long boughs. I placed them in front of the lake.
Picking two stones from the pond, I placed the smaller one on a stone slab. Setting the aim I struck the small stone with the big one.
The stone was broken into two pieces, and one of the pieces was what I needed.
A type of stone tool created by striking a long narrow flake from a stone core. That's what it is... A thin piece of stone with a sharp edge ' blade '.
Lithic reduction is the process of reducing the stone and producing the blades.
Well though not very strong, it can be extremely dangerous if used correctly.
Grabbing a bough, I started cleaning it by removing the twigs and leaves. Getting the long and thick stick, I started sharpening its edge, keeping a lookout for the monster banging its head.
"Sigh... Finally done."
Thank god I have experience in it or it would have taken forever.
Looking at the once bough now turned into twelve crude spears. I felt my hungry stomach filled with satisfaction.
Throwing the thirteenth blade away, I picked my two finest spears.
Holding the two spears in both my hands I walked towards the monster, trying to see if it would react in any way.
*Bam!* *Bam!*
The monster still banging its head at the barrier like a programmed machine didn't have any change. Like nothing existed for it other than its nemesis it was determined to break.
Standing steps ahead of the monster, the scene of it banging its head was scary it felt like the barrier protecting me would break any moment leaving me at the mercy of the monster.
But the barrier held its ground like an immovable mountain protecting me. But I knew better not to rely on anything other than myself.
The idea of existing from another side of the barrier did cross my mind but was immediately rejected because of the risk involved.
I braced myself for what was to come next as I held a spear in both my hands running straight to the monster...
The end of the spear collided with its red eye passing straight through it without any resistance.
Putting it as deep as I could, I retreated backwards picking up the other spear. Ready for a further retreat I looked at the monster awaiting its response.
*Bam!* * Bam!*

With a quater of the spear embedded in its right eye, the monster kept banging its head, not minding the pool of blood flowing at least.
This scene instead of relieving me filled me with horror.
What's going on? At one moment it is a monster with super speed on another it is just a little fast.
It acts like a mindless creature at a moment only set up an ambush at another, and now it's just acting... Mad.
The more I thought the more confused I became.
"Huu.."
There's no need for thoughts like these at moment, first, let's eliminate the danger.
Holding the spears in both hands again I ran straight to the monster.
The same way as before my spear pierced straight through the eye without any resistance.
*Bam!* *Bam!*
Even with the spear pierced in both its eyes, the monster continued its job.
How is it living with two spears deep in its head? Well, since this is not enough...
The moment it brought its head back I grabbed both the spears pulled back with it and rooted my feet on the ground.
As it slammed its head at the barrier again.
*bam!*
The spears got deeper in its head. But the monster continued its slamming.
Let's see how long you will last...
"How?"
Only a few inches of the spear is visible at the place its eyes were supposed to be, but still...
*bam* *bam*
"How are you still alive!?"
I couldn't help but scream at the monster still banging its head.
*bam* *bam*
I am tired of this sound... I am sick of persistent people!
Gritting my teeth I grabbed another spear beside the pond, running towards my nemesis.
I pierced through its nose, though only the tip was able to penetrate it.
"Die! Die!.."
Wounds after wounds were inflicted on the monster as blood kept flowing...
*bam* *bam*
But the persistent thing didn't know when to die.
"Huff... Huff.."
Painting heavily I threw the eighth broken stick away.
Looking at the once black and majestic head turned into meat paste, lightly slamming its head I screamed with all my might...
"Just DIE ALREADY!"
*bam...*
With another slam, the head didn't lift themselves to slam again but rather slides down...
*Thud!*
And once fallen never got up.
*thud*
I too fell painting heavily, looking at my red hands scratched from the rough surface of the spear...
*Ding!*
« Congratulation! You have achieved an impossible task!»
« Your reward has been saved, please reach the Tutorial to receive them.»
Oddly enough I didn't feel any sense of victory.
«A starler is watching you.»
«A starler is watching you.»
«A starler has taken interest in you.»
«A starler is watching you.»
«A starler is.........»
Screens over screens appeared at the corner of my vision making it difficult to read all of them.
So this is what he meant by the audience above watching. 'Starler' huh...
*grrw..*
I should think of the matter later, I have a more urgent matter. I thought to myself hearing the sound made by my stomach.
I grabbed a spear near the pond, ready to catch some fish. Catching the big school of fishes in the small pond should have been an easy task for me, but my hunger made the task difficult. But I managed to catch some.
Collecting some dry leaves and twig along with two branches. I started the long process of starting a fire.
My scar filled hands did make the task difficult, but I managed to start the fire.
Sticking the fish to the branches I removed their scales putting them on fire.
When the results of my long wait got ready I immediately put it in my mouth.
Getting the meat down my throat I let out a satisfied sigh, opening the quest interface...

77 hours left, which means 7 hours have passed. Let's say that if it took 1 hour for me to reach here, that means I was unconscious for 6 hours.
Strangely enough, even after 7 hours, it was still afternoon, the sun was no longer in the middle, however.
So that direction is west. I noted the point looking behind me.
Finishing all the six fishes I drank some water from the pond, without putting any thought at why the water was sweet or so clean, after all...
The whole thing sounds like someone's fantasy anyway.
*Burp!*
As the burp left my mouth I laid on the grass under the shade. Feeling the cool breeze pass through my skin I looked at the beautiful sky above.
Yah. Maybe it's heaven.
*Crack!* *Crack!*
But every good thing must come to an end.
Looking at the barrier cracking at an extremely fast speed, I know that...
Heaven is coming to an end.

Advent of the Mindfire Mage: A Challenger's Return Story
Updates MWF, 6PM EST! Not so long ago, a story was posted on Webnovel, one that fired my imagination unlike almost anything before or since. It was known as The Challenger's Return: Rebirth of the Rainbow Mage. However, 150 chapters in, the author NightWind, who I'd personally interacted with and begun to consider a true friend, vanished from the internet without a trace. And so, I have acted upon my fervent desire to pick up his torch, to refuse to let his world that stirred such passion in me die. Read below about my own take on The Challenger's Return. Was Lheticus summoned to the Tower by chance, or by choice? Either way, with the new power he wins, he won't hesitate to burn anyone who seeks to keep him from his true love to cinders, and with a unique ability of the highest potential, he may just succeed, but he's just as likely to burn himself down. And as it turns out, the latter case may be woven into his very destiny...can that destiny be changed? And if it is, what will be the repercussions for the Tower? (You may want to read a fair amount of the original Challenger's Return before starting this, as, particularly in the early chapters, many things that are laid out in it are glossed over in this story.)
