《Emperor Who Rules Over The Swords》Chapter 16— Defeating The Orc Warriors
Advertisement
The orc he had fought was a merciless one. After his fight with the orc, he had also gained respect towards the creature. Without the orc, he wouldn't be able to make a break through, so it's possible that he would also remain for so many years at the same stage, nor once he was murdered.
Still, the orc he had encountered was really strange. Not only it has high intelligence, it was even capable of speaking. Cayle pondered about it, and soon succumbed into anxiety. What if all of them were the same as the last guy he had fought?
Holding back a single orc almost killed him, if they were to strike forward all at the same time, he wouldn't be able to dodge like last time. Just imagining fighting hundred of that made him shivered.
"How do I make my way out of here now…"
Cayle's expression became cloudy, the moment a backed up went forward to lend the fallen orc a hand. Unfortunately the orc was already dead. At their arrival, they were expressionless. Even though a part of their race was dead in front of them, their eyes carried an uncaring coldness…
(What a cruel world.)
The orc fought with his life at stake for the future of his race, but after his own death, they couldn't even look at him properly. The gaze of the orc were gathered in the forest. They were scouting every nook and cranny in search for the culprit. From the looks of it, they were trying to find if the culprit is still in the woods.
Whenever a gaze would flew out towards his direction, Cayle would always stop his breathing and prevent himself from being seen. Although they were small in number, it's still orcs with high intelligence so he'd rather not take the risk.
There was times where he was almost found out. Thankfully, he was able to run everytime and escaped through the bushes. Perhaps they thought it's just a small animal moving around the bushes, even after hiding onto the bushes, the orc never looked at it nor pay attention.
As soon as the orc who were surveilling the area left. Cayle heaved a sigh of relieved. It took them too long to leave, that he almost thought of diving in, to slay them.

Although they were great in numbers, for some reason, he kind of had a feeling he could defeat them one after another…
Since he had defeated the orc earlier, surely his level finally rose a few numbers. Cayle immediately summoned the chart made out of light, he almost jumped onto the air like a child from excitement.
Slowly, like descending immortal, his field of view gleamed in blinding lights, before taking the shape of a chart. There were words embed to the chart.
Race: Human
[Cayle Mischieve]
Age: 18 (27)
Level: 20
Strength: 32 [+]
Agility: 31 [+]
Constitution: 19 [+]
Mana: 21 [+]
Contribution Points: 15
[Remaining time: 1:59]
By distributing all the points he had on strength so he could overpower his enemies, a new path was created which stood as a new foundation of his strength, as a mysterious power started spreading like a wild fire through his blood vessels.
His body heated up into the blazing sun, before cooling down. Cayle swallowed down his saliva with great difficulty as his forehead became covered in sweat.
Even now, the system that appeared to him was still a mystery. He didn't know who controlled it, nor what kind of purpose the creature had from giving it to him. No matter how he looked at it from every angle, the chart in front of him which held a leveling system was somewhat suspicious.
Cayle soon disregarded the thought of it, as he decided to search for it's origin in the future. After all, he was summoned by the creator of leveling system he had so, sooner or later, each of them would meet each other even if he didn't want to.
The goal he had right now is to become strong. So strong, that the creator who made his leveling system wouldn't be able to predict such a development.
Since the orcs were now gone, Cayle stood up from the bushes and took out his sword from it's scabbard. By putting all the strength he currently had to his gripped of the sword, he swung his sword forward creating a weird vibration in the air. Cayle felt delighted seeing a strength he didn't expected to come. Without a second thought, he raised the sword in his hand again before swinging.

The air distorted for a moment, and the dimension in front of him was cut open. The blade in his hand were glittering in coldness. He could feel a weird feeling entering his body, and soon his eyes narrowed in coldness.
Cayle stared upon his palm before his brows widened in shock. His body became rather light, and his mind was extremely calm. He felt so at ease that it freaks him out.
It must be the doing of that creator mysterious fellow… Cayle cursed inwardly towards the creator of leveling system. Even though he had no idea why it's helping him nor it's reason for summoning him, he swore to himself that once they've met with each other he'll definitely cull him open…
Cayle continued his momentum and swung his sword forward.
The cold sword brushed past the gust of wind, cleaving it on half while producing sound waves. The sword raised it's mighty figure into the sky, before it's figure tore apart the clouds which could be called air, disrupting it's figure with the blade on his hand.
A drop of sweats fell onto the ground and became a foundation of his swordsmanship. The greatness he's emitting resembled a God of war.
Cayle's began feeling the ache on his side, the neatly clean hand he had earlier was now covered in blood as calluses began showing from their figures.
His hand continued swinging the sword in his hand, before long, he could feel the closure of both of them. As he raised his sword to swing forward again, the sword obeyed his movement and danced along with his hand, before striking forward causing the air to vibrate.
Unlike last time when he was fighting the orc, he was sweating heavily. Like an immortal that had fallen onto the land of mortals becoming one of them, Cayle immediately noticed he became fragile just like how he usually supposed to be. Instead of fear, excitement ran into his spine. Although he suddenly became weak, he didn't feel any anxiety after becoming fragile. Moreover he could feel joy as his hand swung forward the emptied spacious in front of him.
For some reason, despite him being a person who hated fighting, he suddenly had the nudging feeling of finding an opponent to spar with.
When he shifted his gaze upon the deep forest, he could see improvement from his sight of view. Unlike earlier, he could now see far the distance deep of the forest.
A village vast in size was hiding deep the forest. After his encounter with the great orc he had fought, he suddenly felt delighted that he didn't continued venturing. If he did, he would have been killed by the swamp of orcs.
(Thank you… Orc….)
He could feel deep gratitude on his heart… Encountering that orc was a blessing.
Not only did he gave Cayle some insights of battling, improving his lack of combat experience. He also saved him from encountering the death he almost stumbled upon.
Cayle walked forward heading towards the direction of the village. His body was fully exposed, while his hand was holding a cold sword.
Even him was confused of his movements. Exposing himself was the same as courting death after all.
As his feet continued dragging him forward, his forehead were wet in cold. An orc guarding the front gate of the village alarmed everyone inside the village, as soon as he saw him, "Everyone! A food has come to our way!"
At his voice, many from huts made out of woods came out, all of them had green body and ferocious looks while baring their fang. Orcs.
I'm doomed... Cayle noticed that the number of orcs that had gathered cannot be counted anymore. Due to their huge bodies, even him couldn't tell whether there were other's in their back. All he could see at front was giant built green creatures drooling in hunger. Be it male or female, all of them had great built on their body. Even the woman that has huge boozangas he saw from afar were much bulked up from the athletes he saw at a television before.
Cayle stopped his movements and raised his sword forward causing to commotion to come.
They were confused why the human who was offering himself to them was baring it's fangs to fight.
Such a barbarian figure… Even the orc's which staring at him, pitied the human in front of them.

The Werewolf Cheerleader
Being a cheerleader is easier than being a werewolf. Jessica Tumbleleague is a typical teenage girl who loves being a cheerleader at Moondale High. But after an encounter with a werewolf in the woods, Jessica discovers a frightening world she never thought is real. Dangerous magic, deadly fierce spirits, and other malevolent creatures. Now Jessica must fight the forces of darkness to protect her hometown while balancing her supernatural life with her high school life. But can she control the beast within herself? Note: This is a rewrite of the original with the same name. I decided to change the third-person style to first-person because I liked Jessica's voice better. She is funny and very strong. With the story only focusing on her, I can keep the mystery suspenseful and the reader can experience what Jessica is experiencing. It is a typical YA style, but it is fun to write as your main character. There are changes, but the first and second books will be similar to the third-person chapters. Let me know what you think and I hope you will enjoy this new version of the Werewolf Cheerleader. I will post the chapters every Friday in the afternoon. P.S, there is a Werewolf Cheerleader short story published in the Tales of Dungeons, All Hallows book. Titled The Werewolf Cheerleader: Castle and Ghouls. The short is also in first-person, which made me decide to change the book series into first-person. The link is below if you want to check it out. https://www.royalroad.com/amazon/B08MCS82R5
