《Emperor Who Rules Over The Swords》Chapter 20— Gratitude

Crimson red with weird symbols were embedded to the ground, its figure shone like a moon whose bathed in blood, overflowing with beauty. No matter what angle he looked at, it resembled the blood moon he loved so much since he was young. Although the reason why he loved the moon so much still got no answer, he found the crimson blood painted to the ground he's standing rather beautifully.
A red gleaming eyes, with a pair of dark horns, stuck between his forehead, gave the human an idea of a ferocious creature he had seen from before. Streams of smoke coming out from its dark thick teeth, readying the sword in his waist, the ferocious creature, circled around without approaching the lone human near him.
What could it be possibly trying to do? Even Cayle was confused by such a complicated situation unfolding before his eyes. When he took a proper gaze to see the dark ferocious creature, its moving feet suddenly came to halt. With a sword making its figure frightening from its majestic form, the blade in his hand emitted a cold glow before the dark creature's appearance was reflected into the mirror-like edge— his calm expression immediately turned ashen as soon a sinister grin coming from an orc, which doesn't look exactly than the ordinary ones instead, like a terminator he had seen from his dreams, who carried a hard-boiled terrifying expression, purposely locked his mocking grinned unto him.
There's a lot of ways to scare a person, but by sending a sinister grin to send them to shivers? Why the hell, the dark creature thought about such a thing, when he could just charge forward?
His hair stood up, frightened by such a sight, there was a feeling of longing to the previous world he had lived at, peacefully. Although he was considered trash there, he's beginning to missed his world, so freaking much. Even if he had to kill a dragon, he'll definitely do it just to return to his lovely hometown.
Vast and giant buildings build by modern humanity, the smell of his lovely room, his freaking lonely sofa, and lastly his one and only dear, computer!
Even if it takes hundreds of years, he swore to himself that he'll definitely find a way out!

But first, he must defeat the creature in front of him, although there was a big difference between them, he felt like there's a possibility of him defeating it… but how??
Kruuuuemmm!
Loud and earth-shaking footsteps resounded almost everywhere, the ground shook violently every time the dark creature took a single step. With its monstrous figure swaying side by side, the ground couldn't handle its weight and continued to make a loud noise, as if the ground was about to crumble.
As soon his gaze landed upon the ground of the cave, Cayle trains of thoughts only think up of one thing…
(I must kill him immediately!)
The ground of the cave continued to shook violently, he could feel that it could possibly crumble. And if it really did happen, he'll be doomed. Even if he could kill a horde of monsters, in the end, he's still a human, if the ground he's standing at falls with a large pit, he'll die from falling without putting any struggle. Well, the same story goes for the orc too, but after seeing its confidence, it seemed like the creature has its own plan, or probably it knew that there's no possibility he would die from a fall.
Either the creature was an idiot, or just confident, well, he can't afford to let his guard down.
After studying the situation for a few minutes, the situation remained the same, forcing Cayle to make his first move. As soon the dark creature started gliding his feet sideways, Cayle brought up his legs and dashed forward.
Amazing.. The dark creature revealed his dark teeth as he bit his lip in his excitement, he had never seen such a barbaric figure before like the one in front of him. Sure, there's been a lot who tried to confront him head-on, but not a single one was on a level his current enemy had. And for some reason, his spine shivered in coldness, making him somewhat careful, although he held such a great advantage at every angle, the dark creature was feeling unease at the human's figure emitting a cold glow.
As soon the joyful feeling ran all over his body, the dark creature brought out a frightening smile, before dashing forward. Now, they were facing each other like mortal enemies, battling for eternity.

Strange… somehow, all the trembling Cayle was feeling suddenly vanished like it never even appeared. Just how did he get this strong, his legs that were trembling in pain earlier, was now functioning like it was never been exhausted. All his wounds have closed momentary, as streams of strength kept flowing all over his body.
It was just like before when he fought goblins and orcs, his bloodied body which seemed to be beyond repair were moving like it was made of feather, unlike earlier where he could feel exhaustion, what he was feeling right now was a different feeling, it even gave him the feeling he could climb thousands of mountains...
As he was dragging his legs forward, Cayle suddenly thought of something. In his previous life, he used to watch taekwondo, and martial arts, however, he was more into swords and katana. Even though it was unknown to him why he liked them so much, he's been too attached to swords in his previous life, that his whole room had a lot of collections of swords.
Swords are very deadly weapons when wielded, after all, even a knife could kill an adult human. If not wield properly, its wielder could become a murderer. But… What if… What if he mixed his sword style with martial arts? Although he was an amateur, such a thing was possible since he had experienced joining a martial arts dojo before. Will the sword become much sharper, or flexible?
I mean, no one has done such a strange thing before, right? Even in his previous life modern world, none has ever been able to joint martial arts and swordsmanship, not even in the whole history. After all, swordsmanship required extreme concentration and sharp senses along with footing techniques, so, what kind of result will be made if one managed to combined swordsmanship and martial arts altogether?
The dark creature was about to throw a slash, however, stopped midway… All of the sudden, the atmosphere around the human suddenly turned a 360, as the smile on the dark creature's face started to fade away.
W, what's happening… Unlike before, the human had a ferocious, sinister aura floating around him. It was so terrifying that the dark creature almost forgot to breathe.. He wasn't like this before. Ashamed to accept the cruel reality, the dark creature chose to rely on his vast build. If he can't beat the human by using strength, he'll use his tough body instead.
The mocking features no longer residing in the dark creature's eyes. He had finally acknowledged the human in front of him, by his different atmosphere. Relying on his six instincts, the dark creature grew even more ferocious before, as its eyes gleamed a strange hue…
As soon the distance between them narrowed, the dark creature fully focused gaze landed upon the human, before raising his sword to the side.
Thwruussrwushhhh~~!
His dark gleaming eyes, widened alongside its brows, before flexing his waist, to throw a strong attack.
What a fool, just like earlier Cayle found it weird why the dark creature's using the most obvious attack, unlike the orcs he had fought earlier, this one called orc chief was much harder to read.
Need to rethink… It could be possible that the dark creature was scheming into something, so not letting his guard down was the best solution for now.
As he was focusing his gaze upon the blade of the enemy, his mind grew unease as its figure started appearing in his side.
The blade of the sword was really cold, he could guess that the sword had already killed many from its appearance alone. As soon it appeared to his side attempting to land a strike, Cayle quickly deflected it…
Baaam!
From the loud impact of the two blades colliding, Cayle wasn't able to manage to overwhelm the dark creature in terms of strength, and as a result, he was sent flying to the other end of the cave…
His back hit the wall before he bounced back a few times, and with a loud groan, he quickly stood up like a Terminator who doesn't feel pain. His body was bloody messed, there was blood all over his body, may it cloths or flesh. The left arms he had, had its flesh almost seeping out, however, his expression was the same as usual, motionless, and was gleaming in coldness.

But Emiluna is not a normal girl and her destiny far bigger than she could have ever imagined.Join her as she finds out what awaits just behind the horizon.[Word from the author]I am looking to create a fantasy world that has some logic to it and stays believable even as characters gain power and progress in levels.Classes and level quantify the people's progress, but they do not artificially inflate their power to demi-god levels. I am primarily trying to write a captivating story, not "power-porn". That means it will be slower than the fast burning litRPG you might be used to, but it won't burn out that quickly either and I won't drop half of my plots at the wayside. I should mention that English is not my native language. I hope it is mostly unnoticeable, but sometimes I manage to slip some awkard sentence structure in there (German sometimes puts things together in reverse). It it also my first time writing an actual fantasy novel and the first time writing anything at length in English. Any constructive feedback is very welcome.Credit where credit is due: Cover picture by Paul Bica (Licensed under CC 2.0)Check out his amazing photos here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/dexxusYes, my cover picture is a photo, not a drawing. :D I might try my hand at some Paint-ification later to add the title.[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
