《Outlaw Teens》Prologue

January 6th, 2687
With a shaky breath and eyes brimming with tears, Drew dashed into the storage room of his house and crouched behind a huge box. The continuous running had exhausted him. He placed his hand over his mouth to suppress the voice
of his breathing.
Drew was completely hopeless at the moment. He had no idea what he would do next. His parents had been killed by Mecca Police. They were continuously getting offers to leave Mecca, one of the many planets that had been colonized after the Earth became unfit for life. However, his parents had refused to leave Mecca. And its consequence was Police killing them and now they were coming for Drew too.
His heart stopped for a moment when he heard some footsteps coming towards him. He silently prayed that they will not enter the room. Unfortunately, that didn't happen.
As soon as the door slid open, Drew made his way to another door that connected the storage room with his bedroom. The door scanned his body as he ran towards it and then it opened. As soon as Drew passed through it, it closed again.
However, Drew knew that the doors couldn't stop the police. The door's scanner was built to stop thieves, not police. As soon as the scanner would detect police badge, it will open.
Drew headed towards the window to the left of his study desk. He pressed the button at the bottom of the window and the shield that gave protection against any impurities of outside environment got disabled.
Drew was just about to vault through the window when his eyes spotted his study desk. The new gadget he had been working on was lying on it.
He grabbed the gadget which was shaped like a ball and as soon as the police entered the room, he threw it on the floor in front of them. The gadget emitted out a bright light which blinded the police. When the eyes of all policemen open again, they found their vision distorted.

Drew took use of the opportunity. He grabbed his backpack, which had all the gadgets he had created, from the chair and then escaped his house.
The chase, however, wasn't over yet. As Drew pushed his way past the pedestrians, he saw police cars after him. They were flying just a foot above the ground.
The situation caused the pedestrians to freak out and they started running hither and thither. This made it even harder for Drew to run.
Nevertheless, he continued running until he saw a huge building.
"Open Slot six." he commanded to his backpack.
The slot six opened and Drew's 'Climber', as he called it, came out of the bag pack. Drew grabbed those gloves and wore it in his hands while running.
He then headed to the building and started climbing to the top of it with his gloves.
However, Drew hadn't yet mastered his gadget and his hands kept on slipping as he tried to climb up. On the top of it, the police started firing Stunners at him. One hit by Stunner could make Drew's body freeze for half an hour.
He climbed in a zig zag pattern to avoid the Stunners which were missing him by just a few inches.
Drew finally managed to climb to the top of the building. But unfortunately, he wasn't rid of the police yet. They had followed him to the top of the building as well and their cars were flying just overhead him.
Drew continued running on the terrace of the building until he reached the edge of the building.
"Surrender to us. We promise we won't hurt you." the police's voice came from the car.
"I'm not surrendering to you beasts." Drew jumped from the edge of the building towards the next building.

Time slowed down for him for a moment as he covered the gap between the two buildings. But then, his Climbers stuck to the wall of the building and he started climbing to the terrace of the next building.
He reached the top of that building and then continued running. There wasn't much gap between the next building as well and he was about to jump to the next building as well when suddenly everything went wrong. He got shot with the Stunner.
His body stopped all of a sudden. He tried to move his hands but they won't budge anymore. The stunner had temporarily froze his entire nervous so that his brain could no longer control his body parts.
The police cars landed on the top of the terrace and the five policemen got out of their car. One of the policemen took out the handcuff from his pocket. The handcuff was made in such a way that if the prisoner would try to move his hands, he will get a shock.
Drew was just about to get handcuffed when a car suddenly landed on the roof. The policemen pointed their guns at the car.
But just then, a policemen received a shot on his head and fell down to the ground. And before the other policemen could react, a red glowing prism was thrown at the edge of building from the person inside the car.
The policemen all turned their attention to the red prism, waiting for something to happen.
The person inside the car took full opportunity of it. Suddenly, the car door opened and a teenage boy came out of it. He had clear white skin and brown hair, which was hidden by the hoodie he wore. His face too was hidden by a black scarf he wore that had the design of a dragon.
He was carrying a gun that was too big for his size. Yet he fired at the distracted guards with perfect accuracy and within seconds, the confused policemen became the victims of his firing. He had killed all the policemen in just a few seconds.
The teenager then walked to Drew, who still couldn't move, but had seen the entire action. He took out a strange green disk from his pocket and as soon as he pressed it over Drew's body, the effect of the Stunner died.
"Hi, I'm Zack." the boy said, extending out his hands to him.
Drew nervously shook hands with him.
"Thank you so much for saving my life." Drew thanked.
"You don't have to thank me." Zack said. "Get inside the car. I'll explain you everything."
Drew hesitated a bit before finally entering the car. As soon as Drew entered, Zack ordered the car computer to go back home.
The car took off in the air and zoomed way from the building. And with that began a new phase of Drew's life.

John then reincarnates with his AI in a new world where a System influences the interaction between Magic and Matter. With seemingly limitless potential and a game-like system influencing the world, the hero sets on his journey. --AUTHOR NOTE, PLEASE READ-- I will state here my promises to you, potential reader: 1. No harem! I don't trust myself to make a harem feel natural or healthy, I never met any person who has a personality that can adapt and live in a harem for reasons that are not monetary, so I can't draw inspiration from real life. Sorry!; 2. The enemies will not be bland and illogically mean. Some may feel like that at first, but I will take great care in fleshing them out, trust me. You may end up hating some, but you won't be able to deny that they had their reasons for what they did; 3. I am using a paid (and expensive) automated editor tool, and I take longer to write because I take my time in editing the stuff. I am aiming to improve and I will not shy away from constructive criticism, nor take offense for no reason; 4. Characters will die and will suffer, some will get over the tragedies and improve, others will not be as resilient. 5. This novel has a lot of ground to cover, it is neither a short story, a manual on crafting, or the script of some action scene. There will be both time skips and oversimplifications of some actions for the sake of moving the story forward. Time skips will be more prominent in the first 30 chapters. I will describe crafting processes and fights with more detail if they are essential for the chapter; 6. If I took my time describing something, it's because it is important. I hate novels that waste time describing useless stuff. If you skim over something, the chances are that something in the future will not make sense. I am an adept of "Chekhov's gun" principle; 7. I already have 31k words on my auxiliary documents, I have a plan for the story, and I will not be making changes even if someone ends up noticing some foreshadowing and figures out what will happen. The story comes first. 8. I have a wife, a job that demands 9h every day and courses related to my job (lawyer) three days of the week, it's unlikely that I will be able to do mass releases at all. I will have a healthy amount of chapters to be able to post at least 1 chapter every day continually. Don't worry. 9. I will read all the comments. I will listen to all you have to say and will try my best to accommodate demands as long as they do not hamper the path I prepared. 10. There is an arc that spans the entire novel. Each volume will be an arc in itself while progressing a little bit of the main arc. Every arc will have one or more main antagonists. I think that's it! Thank you for reading it all. Have an awesome time reading my first novel!!

Updates Sunday - Tuesday - Thursday![successful participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Rating: This should align pretty closely with your typical MCU movie, so PG-13 for scenes of fantasy violence. There'll be gore and some swearing but not much beyond that. If that changes, I'll warn you. MC: Shaya is analytical, but begins the story emotional and impulsive. She leans towards rationality and uses this to control her demonic impulses to the best of her abilities. She begins the story as a somewhat capable protagonist, but grows in power steadily through hard work and diligence. Fights: ...I like fight scenes. They’re going to be detailed, but I won’t drown you in description of individual hand movements or footwork. I like fights that can be solved like puzzles by the audience, where creative thinking wins the day using tools you know the protagonist has at their disposal.
