《The Beautiful People》1. Joshua

We've been on the road for hours. Part of me thinks we should have gotten there by now, while another part of me is afraid that just asking might be an admission to my poor navigation skills. I really didn't want to be out here, and she knows it. Yet this is her boss, and I can't put her in a position that makes her look anything short of the aspiring hard worker they all know her to be. Sometimes that pisses me off, that she's trying to win their approval more than mine. I'm the one she alleges to love and yet here I am, spending my kid free weekend driving up to butt fuck nowhere in the middle of spring, probably going to a shitty ass cabin that has no internet, and no cell service. So while I brought my laptop with me and I can get some of my work done, I won't be able to email it to my publisher until I return to the real world. Fan-fucking-tastic.
And yet here I am... driving her to a company retreat being hosted by her boss.
I'd do anything for my Angie, and the bad news about that is she's aware of that and often abuses it. People often tell me that I lack backbone, but that isn't true. It's not lack of backbone that prevents me from standing up to her when she uses me. It's fear. Fear that she'll dump me and find a more handsome man with a bigger cock that could please her in ways that I can only see on porn hub. A fear that if I lose her that I will never find another and die alone.
Does this make me weak? Maybe, but right now a bossy cunt that knows what she wants in life is better than nothing. It's not like I'm not getting anything out of this relationship. I take the bad with the good, but this weekend is starting to look more bad than the other.

Uh oh, she's looking at me. I have a feeling I know what she's thinking.
"Shouldn't we be there by now?" she calmly asked, with a voice I know to be passive aggressive.
Translation: Do you have any fucking idea where we are, asshole?
"I think so," I reply, trying to convey even just a minuscule amount of confidence. "We left pretty early too, so I'm still confident we'll get there before anyone else. "
"Good," She said, as she resumed to gaze out the window, as if the view of vast nothing was better than looking at my ugly mug.
I grip the wheel a bit more, as knuckles go a little white. This weekend is going to fucking suck, and I mean The Last Jedi, I can't believe I actually miss George Lucas kind of suckage. The kind that will linger like a bad taste in your mouth and no amount of Listerine will wash away.
Part of me hates her for making me attend this clusterfuck. If she could have come out here without me, I know she wouldn't have hesitated to leave my sorry ass behind. I bet she's wishing she hired a male hooker for the weekend, just to avoid introducing me to her boss. Thankfully her boss is happily married, cause I have no doubt she'd fuck him for a promotion.
And since this is a couples retreat, everyone had to bring their significant other, and that means the scruffy writer she's been talking about finally has to make an appearance. I feel like the elephant man, and the curtain is about to be whisked aside and gasps will be heard all around. I'm not really that ugly, and am aware I clearly have confidence issues. Yet I would prefer to speak with a therapist about it, not air anything in front of Angie's pompus, book smart, faker friends who are all competing to kiss the CEO's arse.

"Yes," Angie then said spontaneously, "I think we should be there by now."
"And I think you should shut your fucking cake hole." I mummur under my breath.
"What was that?" Angie asked, as she wasn't paying attention.
"I think you're right," I reply, "Let's stop at the next station and ask."

Musical Land Trilogy
In an alternate universe where famous historical figures are all living in one era and musicals are their every day life, fourteen-year-old Marie Curie has been told that following her passion in science will lead to a future of flipping burgers and waiting tables. As hard as she tries, the arts remain an enigma to her. She is selected to attend Presley High, one of the most prestigious schools in the city, as part of a social experiment to help her grades. With budding geniuses all around her, she feels doomed to be forever an outcast. However, when she stumbles upon a secret which shakes the foundation of Musical Land, she realizes targets from bullies aren't as terrifying as targets from the president of the city. **This is a historical (fan)fiction, so technically I don't own these characters/real life humans. And I also take creative liberties with them, so they're not exactly who they are in real life, but that's what makes it fun!** Chapters every Tuesday and Thursday

Flesh Forger
Born a bit too late to explore the world, yet far too early to explore space, Graham Lattem is your average 61 year old man - if a little wanderlust filled. That being said, he has a happy home, loving wife, children who check up on him, and a decent retirement fund to live out his golden years modestly. Then it happens. [System Initialization Commencing…] A trick of the light, surely. [Planetary Merger Protocol 331 Enabled] Rumbling can be heard in the distance. Shouts. Cries of anguish. A horrible, ear numbing crashing sound. An earthquake. A hole opens in the middle of his home, and our protagonist falls in as a swirling vortex consumes him. Mountains as far as the eye can see greet Graham as he opens his eyes. Well, and more glowing words: [Welcome To The Macrocosm] [Good Luck] Far away from his family in a world hell-bent on his demise, how will this old, arthritis ridden man survive? Did I mention he has cancer? ===================================================================== Aiming for at least 1 chapter every other day, though there is a very big chance it will more oftentimes than not be more than that! This is my first ever story. One that I’ve been wanting to write for awhile. The system is most definitely inspired by Randidly Ghosthound and The New World, but I promise the story is different! Please point out any mistakes, as I’d love to improve! Also the warnings are just to let me experiment.

Steps of the Immortal Tree
Evan stood on a hill, staring calmly at the gate of his former clan. A crowd waited behind him, some eyeing the clan in an unresigned manner, others looking at their spiritual support. Some of the young children shivered at the gnawing cold. Wind howled in his ears, seemingly deploring his fate. A silvery cloud drifted over the mountains surrounding the compound. The roar of a river could be heard from underneath its frozen surface. He had reincarnated many years ago. Hailed as a prodigy from his youngest age, Evan had seemingly tread on a path to invincibility. He had gotten married with his childhood sweetheart and had cultivated with a group of friends, forming a considerable power of his own. Yet now, here he was, devoid of any path to move forward, with his energy locus destroyed. His wife was dead and his branch had been kicked out of the clan. He looked at his progeny that had been entrusted to him. The baby seemed content in his father’s strong arms, too young to understand anything but the warmth of the father’s beating heart. Signaling to the people behind him, he turned around and the procession gradually disappeared in the distance, as the sun gradually set and the stars acted as a guide. --- Author-san here. I originally started this novel on another account, but lost the login information for it, so I'll be restarting this story here. Thanks for understanding! This is my first fiction, so I appreciate any and all feedback! (^^) The cover picture is by Yuji Himukai (as pointed out by Truis). I found it on the internet. Please contact me if you want to have it taken down. If anyone is interested in drawing a cover, send it to me. I'll put it up if I feel it represents the book well, with your name in the credits.
