《Undiminished》CHAPTER THREE: LIFE IS LIKE A BOX OF CHOCOLATES, BUT THE CHOCOLATES ARE SHIT

- Teleportation successful. No further problems have occurred during or after your teleportation. - Welcome to your brave new world! It is filled with danger around every corner, amazing new locations to be discovered, and an exciting new civilization to see. - And you’re dead. Well great, aren't you an overachieving go-getter? Well, I might as well take the time to explain a little bit about your ability to respawn while you are in the time out zone. So, while most people would just be dead when they die, you get to feel all of the pain of death but you also get to enjoy the benefit of never truly dying. - The perks don't stop there. Every time you die you get just a little bit more powerful. You gain an increase of 0.01% per each death. This will increase when you manage to survive for four full days without dying. - Last but not least, let's talk about your respawn timer. It's set at ten seconds currently, but again, this will change when you prove that you can survive. - Oh, come on. Can't you at least survive longer than a millisecond? I'll take this death as a big no can do. - Congratulations! You have set an all-time new record for fastest death and most deaths. For achieving this monumental feat, you will be rewarded with a title. - Most people fear death. You, however, are dumb enough to embrace her like a long-lost lover. This has unlocked the unique title Death's Bitch Boy. - Seeing as I seriously doubt you will be able to break out of your cycle of death and respawning any time soon, this will be the last time I communicate with you for a while. Honestly, after the first two sentences of whatever the fucking green words are, I was at the point of ignoring anything that was shown to me. It's not fun being stuck in a death cycle where you can't do anything but keep dying. Then to top it, off you get to look at big green words criticizing your every action. Let's just say I'm not very happy at the moment and about the only good thing about this situation is the fact I'm dying so fast I feel no pain. Other than having lots of time to think about things, I've been unable to do anything else. I mean, who the fuck wants to look at a bunch of numbers while they are sitting around to die? I can't even tell how long I've been stuck doing the same things over and over. If I had to guess, I'm on death number 156, and that counter isn't going to stop going up any time soon. The only thing I've managed to see is a ruined city. Granted that was only getting to see small glances during the times in which I was alive. Oh look, I have respawned yet again. Maybe I'll actually get to do something before death takes me yet again. Hmm well, that is surprising. The sun isn't yellow anymore, it just so happens to be red

Moonshot
Gregarious businessman Evin Tumble is fascinated by the sudden and inexplicable appearance of a low-orbiting moon. Specifically, he's interested in shooting it down with a giant cannon. The moon is only about eight miles overhead, but it's high enough and quick enough that nobody can reach it by balloon or airship. He hires our protagonists: taciturn Iseult Morrin, cheerful Sean Whelan, and nervous Íde Ceallaigh, to help him with his obsession. As our heroes are dispersed across the continent to perform tasks for Tumble, and the moon-hunt draws closer, they become increasingly suspicious of their benefactor's motives and true nature. Moonshot is a story centred around struggling with confidence, the difficulty of being an immigrant, and the duality of truth, all clad in the trappings of an urban fantasy. It is character-driven, from the heart, and based on tropes and ideas that are missing from a lot of contemporary fantasy (a push beyond the flawless-yet-somehow-still-needs-rescuing-by-an-oafish-man heroine trope, a touch of cosmic magic based on the shared geometries of Celtic and Arab art).
