《Stupid Cat》58- Vs Worst pt. 16

Ichi adjusted the orc sword on his shoulder. He looked down at the dull golden blade and sniffed. The smell reminded him of the fish market he used to pass in the city. Such a small village like this didn't even have a grocery, so Ichi's mouth watered at the thought. His mind snapped out of good memories. Now wasn't the time.
He shook his head at Satou.
"I don't want it."
Satou grinned at him, folding her arms behind her back.
"Oh? And why is that?" Satou looked at the sword she threw to Ichi's feet. "Scipio's sword is a unique masterpiece. I assure you, as someone with high appraisal ability that its worth exceeds that cracked lump of metal you are shouldering by at least four trillion United States Dollars."
Ichi froze. Four trillion? Four trillion dollars? His eyes drifted to the dull golden blade on the ground. He shook his head, again, that wasn't the point.
"I'm not giving this sword to a slimy bastard like that," Ichi pointed at Scipio. "Even throwing it at his face would be an insult to the sword. It's not even mine. I respect other people's property."
Satou looked to Rikya with a straight face. Rikya met her gaze, then nodded. Rikya turned her head to Ichi.
"Ichi, Satou's trying to make a point to Scipio using that blade. They're going to get married in the future. Satou wants to make sure he grows up well so her future is secure."
"Marriage?" Ichi balked.
Rikya nodded solemnly. Ichi saw Scipio looking at him, waiting. The three other people here were having a discussion that had nothing to do with him, but, Ichi was glad that Scipio didn't seem interested in fighting anymore. So he threw the orc sword into Scipio's face.

Scipio's hand moved to grab the handle. The sword pulsed red and dodged from his hand. Scipio's hands then tentacles chased after the blade's grip as it slipped through his grasp to the ground. Scipio stared at it with a frown on his face. He bent over the blade and put his hand carefully around the grip. As his fingers tightened, the blade squirmed out from under his fingers. Ichi looked on with bemusement. Satou matched his mood.
Scipio tried a few more times to grab the orc sword on the ground before he opened a blue portal. Out from it stepped a deep one. Scipio slapped the tentacle beast and it went to pick up the sword itself. A tentacle from the deep one snaked out and curled around the hilt of orc sword. As it picked it up, it's violently struck Scipio.
Scipio's blue blood splattered across the ground as he coughed. His hand grabbed the deep ones head. He crushed it.
Breathing hard, Scipio turned to Satou.
"Magic Rejection."
Satou heard Scipio's weak tone and she turned to Rikya.
"Didn't you say Ichi first learned magic only during the last week?"
Rikya nodded and closed her eyes. She saw where Satou was going with this, and she liked it. Satou turned back to Scipio.
"You couldn't resonate with even a single blade from Syon's Armory. A blade that Danzaburo's son was able to wield within a week. The Armory will stay with Rikya. I'll take it as part of my early dowry for our future marriage. And as recompense for the abuse you inflicted tonight."
Scipio shook his head. His brow furrowed as he stared down Satou.
"I'm not leaving without the Armory. Even if it's you, I can't let a Burncastle get their hands on whatever the Tengu Twins managed to collect."

Satou tented her fingers in front of herself pointing at Scipio.
"You could make something much stronger yourself if you listened to me. I'll only tell you the secret if you agree to my terms."
Scipio held up a finger.
"Or, I could take the Armory. You could tell me the secret. And, then, we'll have both in the future. You see, Satou, you're not thinking of the future. Can you really trust the Burncastle girl? No, no. How could you possibly trust her?"
Satou drifted her hand over her golden glove, stroking it.
"The real question is how can I trust someone who blows an entire nations worth of budget on aircraft carriers?"
Scipio held up his hand.
"The U.S loves those aircraft carriers. They have more than the rest of the world combined!"
"Those are toys. Technology can never surpass magic, Scipio. It took humans until the 1950's to get to the moon while people like us have been there since it formed."
Ichi's eyebrow raised at Satou's statement. He looked to Rikya, whose face was staring at Scipio. This didn't look like new information to her from the look on her face.

The Limits of Limitless
Author's Note: So, new author here, nice to meet you from this lovely one sided conversation lol. I was so tired of waiting for the perfect story for me so I decided to write a few of my own. These are basically just to make me happy, but if you enjoy them too that would make me happy as well lol. ______________________________________________________________________________________ So once upon a time, there was a convienent, and slightly cliche, plot device used by a somewhat lazy author.... Which in turn, created an easily made story of how a lucky high schooler posing as a hardcore gamer dies only to resurrect in a fantasy reality, meeting beautiful women, powerful dragons and ancient beings, an assortment of insanely escentric fellows, and a certain over powered ring. Journey with them as they explore the wilderness of twisted imagination. Or for you old timey folk who like their synopsis a bit tame, here you go: Jason, a senor in highschool, is slowly failing school due to not giving a fuck. Like many people now in the year 3056, he is obsessed with the wonderful invention most lovingly called, 'True Virtual Realities'. now by using his obsession with his favorite Virtual Reality game called 'Reality Controlled', which is the first and so called best Virtual Reality ever made. it was basically the all around escape humanity wished for, and he with heaven defying luck came across one of the three cheat items the game developers left for themselves: The Limitless Ring. The ring was a support type item and had the ability to grant wishes, store worlds, clone items, grant skills and easily learn abilities. But those are just a few of the things it could do. Using the ring he successfully became the "best player" and had a herd of fans following him everywhere. It was a dream come true. Until, he was killed from a power surge that fried his brain which was hooked up to the Nerve Capsule, an unsafe prototype of the Dive gear that he bought do to low funds. The end. Or so you would think.... ______________________________________________________________________________________ Author's Note: I was, to be honest, wanting to do a collab, because to me it is sooooooo incredibly boring to write by yourself since you always know what happens next, however no one enjoys a bit of friendly cooperation *sigh* so I'm forced to journey these roads alone.... 'Tis but a sad fate tha' 'is here young'un has t' bear. The cover isn't mine, all rights and stuff goes to its artist and such.

Hope
There were 2 options: Fight the same war for countless more aeons. Shatter the Betrayer's undead legions time and time again until all was ground to dust. Because the endless legions truly never end. A hair's breath of ground in a century is enough if the war takes all of eternity. Or to choose Hope. To cast away his memories, his power, his very life. To wager everything on a chance to prevent their eventual end or to perish trying. Because if he were to return it would be with the power necessary to finally slay what remains of the Betrayer. Of the last Aspect. Only then would all things be right. And so, he chose the latter. Expect:Weak to strong quick-ish.Powerful MC reincarnates, gradually starts regaining memories.MC that is an actual character not a plot device. My original unique magic system discovered along with the MC.My original setting with mythos that have both been living rent free in my head for actual years.Opening arc will be less fast than the following story. Good writing (I think) and grammar. Upload schedulle: 2 chapters a week of 3-4k words each. I want to upscale to 3 in the future. Meant to be read in RR dark mode. For those coming here from my other stories, this is indeed a reimagining of my older story, CotM. I say reimagining because I have changed so much it cannot be called just a rewrite. Among the major changes, MC is fundamentally different in personality and background, I have actually planned the story out and changed it almost completely and I have adjusted my mythos so it no longer has as many holes as swiss cheese.

Choices of the Magicless Son
I had an ability that allowed me to watch everyone. I narrated everything I witnessed. To who? To whichever being that's listening to my thoughts right now. I have a gut feeling you're there. Erik Spearhand was born from one of the many concubines of the current human emperor. The boy was insignificant. He was the only one in the whole world who couldn't use magic. And yet, his choices impacted everyone. I had seen every sort. Powerful mages who could kill with a thought. Monster people who had their own history among human and beastman civilization. And even what I presume are time travelers. Those mess with my head. And still, the magicless son was the most formidable of them all. Of all of us.
