《Betsu no Sekai ni Mezameru》The Adventurer’s Guild

CHAPTER 13: The Adventurer’s Guild The inside of the Adventurers’ Guild was amazing, a wooden tall building that housed many adventurers, it was easy to tell veteran adventurers from beginning adventurers apart, shining armors were worn by beginning adventurers noble or ordinary citizens, while veteran adventurers’s armors were battle worn. Wooden tables and chairs were available for gatherings, many looked for groups, some stating what they looked for and some just wanted to start adventuring not caring what rank they had or class they are. Races that I never saw before were present, hooded figures uncovered their heads and revealed their enlarged canine teeth, some had scales and wings and breathe fire, my aunt said they were called Vampires and Dragonewts. A reception was at the very front, easy to access for new comers, the receptionist was a cat like Demi-human, she was easy to approach because of her smile and appearance. “Tiff! Welcome back! I’m glad your safe… I’ve heard about the destruction of LouwenDale… I’m really sorry.” “Thank you, Catalina. I have 2 new adventurers today who wanted to get their Adventurer’s card” “Ow! What cuties!” she leaned to get a better view of us, her fangs showing. “Okay can I have your name, age, fingerprint, and a drop of blood please” she asked both Yuna and me nicely, handing over 2 sheets of paper the size of a 1/8 index card and 2 quills. We wrote our names and age, after the receptionist handed over a knife with a red gem on the hilt. “Okay so what you have to do is use that knife to carefully make a shallow cut on your palm and place your right thumb on the wound and mark the paper on the designated location so that your fingerprint will be made out of your own blood and let your palm leak a single drop of blood next to your fingerprint” We did as she told us, me being the first one to do it. I made a shallow cut on my palm which didn’t hurt probably because of the magic tool, red viscous liquid ran from the cut to the side of my palm, I pressed my thumb on the wound and marked the paper on a rectangular shape near my name and age. The paper flickered once and revealed the other details that I didn’t write. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Surrivan Akira Pridesworth 6 years old 1st born son of Mary Pridesworth and Griffin Fareas Pridesworth Born on December 25 B Rank : Elementalist ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Once I was done mesmerizing the paper, I also let a drop of my blood stain my adventurer’s card near my fingerprint. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Surrivan Akira Pridesworth 6 years old 1st born son of Mary Pridesworth and Griffin Fareas Pridesworth Born on December 25 Total kills: 10 B Rank : Elementalist Fire Attribute: 2nd Tier Wind Attribute: 3rd Tier Water Attribute: 3rd Tier Earth Attribute: 2nd Tier Dark Attribute: ? Light Attribute: N/A ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ And there it was, my own information on magic. I suddenly felt a tingle as my mouth curved into a smile. [I wonder what those tier mean and how far I’m from the highest tier… maybe if I compared it to Tiff…] “Umm… aunt Tiff, can I see your Adventurer’s card?” “Oh~ suddenly curious are we? You wanna compare our cards and see how much potential you have?” she raised an eyebrow at my question, her soft demeanor replaced by her competitive behavoir “Yeah… can I?” “Of course kiddo! Here you go” she handed me her card revealing her information ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Tiffany Fareas 31 years old 1st born daughter of Elanor Greenleaf and Elijah Fareas Born on July 15 Total kills: 45,661 A Rank : King Elementalist (Grand Sorcerer) Fire Attribute: 6th Tier Wind Attribute: 6th Tier Water Attribute: 6th Tier Earth Attribute: 4th Tier Dark Attribute: N/A Light Attribute: N/A ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ “Ah-” I mouth instantly opened the moment I saw the numbers of her Adventurer’s card, even Yuna who was beside me was left speechless. “Okay~ that’s enough staring~” she grabbed the card from my hands and placed it in her pocket. “That was… overwhelming!” “Why thank you! Now Yuna it’s your turn now, we still need our rest after we pick our first quest” “Yes, ma’am!” And so she did what I just had to do moments ago and revealed her information. Her card looked like it had some problems before she could show it to me, I just brushed it off thinking nothing of it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Yuna Crest 8 years old Adopted daughter of Ophelia Crest and Luke Cloud Crest Born on May 23 Total kills: 16 B Rank : Specialized Earth Elementalist Fire Attribute: 1st Tier Wind Attribute: 1st Tier Water Attribute: 1st Tier Earth Attribute: 4th Tier Dark Attribute: N/A Light Attribute: N/A ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ *** Trophy heads of A-class monsters took up several walls of the building, name plates displayed below each head to reveal the group that hunted the monsters. 3 walls was dedicated to a single group that had the biggest and shiniest name plate, they killed more monsters than 5 groups combined, they were Ashadow. Monsters from Serpentine to Lupine, from Golems to Wyverns, from Giants to Rats, the list goes on and on and with each trophy my mouth opened wider at the achievements my father and his friends made and on the very middle of the wall was the head of a Lybracan, an A+ class monster, the strongest and most dangerous species of Wolves, jet black fur covers its entire body, immune to almost every attribute of magic, they are dangerous to mages as it hunts individuals with a high amount of mana. Even in death their fur can still be used to counter any spell. [if the members of Ashadow was still together would my father still live? They seem unbeatable… Oh my god…] my mouth suddenly let out a chuckle as soon as I saw the little name plate displayed on the bottom of the wall. [‘I was the one who killed these monsters displayed on this wall- Tiffany Fareas’] My aunt killed so many monsters that 2 walls was dedicated to her [‘I was the one who killed the Plagued Rat - Aegir Roxfelt’] [‘I was the one who killed the Stone Giant - Ophelia Crest’] [‘I was the one who killed the Lybracan - Griffin Fareas’] [‘I killed most of the monsters here and gave some to them - Tiffany Fareas’] it was funny how Aegir, Ophelia, and Griffin shared a wall with Tiffany Fareas. “Hey aunt Tiff, why is it that the King didn’t recognize you immediately if your name was on 3 walls in the Adventurer’s Guild?” “That? That’s just a replica from LouwenDale, I had more walls there than here, since they couldn’t fit everything here.” “…” [there’s more?!] “Anyway let’s get a simple quest” We came to a large quest board full of jobs for different ranking adventurers, the quest ranked from D all the way to S where extreme difficult and dangerous jobs lay and wait. Tiffany picked a D ranked quest, ripping the request form from the board. “This is simple enough. ‘Help my son Jorge gain his confidence back.’” “I hope it is…”

Andur's Oneshot collection
This is just a Oneshot Collection with story ideas. I'll add stories when I get the inspiration. Eventually, I'll turn them into full stories. ——————————————————————————————— Reading Order of the Multiverse-Books ——————————————————————————————— Author's Comment: I was asked about reading my work on other sites. The answer is simple: Currently I am not active in any other networks than royalroadl.com. Only here, I correct mistakes and errors. If you read it anywhere else and have to pay for it, or have to deal with an annoying amount of advertisement, You Are Being Betrayed. You would do good if you make other people in that network aware of it. This is a free project of mine for the purpose of having fun. And if people try to make money with it you shouldn't bother visiting their website. The only one whom I actually allowed to have my work on his website is Armaell who invested the time to compile them into pdf.
