《Into The Guardian's Gate》Chapter 1 - The Boy Nigo

Nigo gradually awakened. The morning rays of sunlight greeting his eyes. His vision was blurry, making him unable to see his surrounding clearly.
What was that?......Why does it feel so real? If it was just a dream then why do I remember everything clearly? And i still feel every bit of emotion, down to the very last bit of my memory?
The door suddenly opened and a person walked into the room. The sound of the door caused nigo to jolt back into reality. His vision cleared up. He sat up. Looking at the person who just entered the room.
"Hah! You're awake" The voice of an elderly woman entered his ears. Making him suddenly feel a calm in his heart and the confusion in his mind, dissipating slowly.
At a glance, the woman looked to be in her early sixties. Clad in a red gown. Which was slightly below her knees. Her hair; black with some strands of white in it. She has a black belt on, to go with her black shoe. Her face, without wrinkle despite her age. She is what you'd call; a mature beauty.
She had a smile on her face. But one could see the worry hidden in her eyes, as she approached the bed.
"For you to be up this early..... It appears you had one of those dreams again" she said, with a voice filled with worry.
Nigo didn't respond. His expression showed he was still confused and worried over something.
"I don't know what you dreamed about this time but don't allow it weigh you down" she continued in a comforting tone laced with User energy.
"Good morning Granny chi" Nigo finally said.
"Sorry for not responding earlier" He continued and apologised.
"There's no need for an apology. You're the only one who knows how you feel. So who can blame you?"
She said in response.
"Do you think I'm abnormal?" Nigo asked a question that wasn't meant for Granny chi but himself.
Granny chi heaved a sigh before saying "I've already told you before: Everyone's time of being capable of utilising User energy is different. You haven't hit 13 yet. So, there is still hope......"
"It's not that!" Nigo cut her off abruptly. "This time it didn't seem like a dream, it felt like a memory of the past"
"Even right now, i still have the sensation from everything that happened in the dream. Like, i was the one using that energy in the dream. The power. The shock waves. It all felt real. The vision can be imaginary but the feeling can't be faked, can it?"
"And unlike the other dreams which i remember vaguely. I clearly recall this one perfectly!" He paused before lowering his voice to say "In this dream. I was called.......... Lord Guardian"
Granny chi:"...."
"I know it sounds absurd. But that's the truth. Don't look at me like a mad man, Granny chi" He stopped talking as he looked down at the bed sheets while trying to avoid the look on granny chi's face. He knew the guardian had not appeared in Five hundred years. So saying what he just said, would make him sound like a crazy person.
Granny chi kept silent for a while. It was obvious she was in thought.

She walked towards the closed windows. Stopped before it and raised her head to look at sun, high up in the sky through the window. Then, she said without looking at him "Do you know what today is?"
"It is the day of Falling Stars" Nigo replied without thinking.
It was common knowledge among humans and spirits; That once every hundred years, there would be rain of Star Meteorites on any continent facing the sun at the time of Star meteor formation. So, he didn't understand why she would ask that question.
"You are indeed correct. However, in the 《Record of Legends》
This day symbolises another event in history" She paused for a while before saying:
"The day of Guardian Proclamation"
Nigo:"Guardian Proclamation?"
"Yes" she said turning to look at him
"It is stated in the 《Record of legends》
Whenever a new 'Guardian god' was picked by the 'Celestial Yang Spirit'. There would be a rain of Star meteors on the continent the Guardian hails from, to proclaim the Celestial Yang Spirit's continued coexistence with humans."
"But.... After Celestial Yang Spirit's disappearance Five hundred years ago. The star meteorites fell every hundred years in succession." She stopped talking while she continued looking at the sun.
"But Dad is currently the Guardian of the earth, right?" Nigo asked
"Yes he is, but he was picked by humans not the Celestial Yang spirit. After the spirit disappeared Five hundred years ago, the humans sought for a way to maintain peace among humans and spirits. So, the Guardian was picked through a process of thorough selection" She replied
Nigo pondered for a while before furrowing his brows and asking "Celestial Yang spirit...... Granny chi, is there a Celestial Yin Spirit?"
"...."Granny chi raised her brows slightly as a slight look of shock appeared on her face "Yes! there is. But.... how do you know that name and why are you asking?"
"Nothing" Nigo responded. He tried to hide the fear in his eyes.
Granny chi didn't probe any further.
"If the legends are true, then you should be happy. Because your dream, might be a premonition of good things to happen. Though you can't use User energy' yet. And your 'Liaison core' has not been awakened. There is still hope because you've not reached the age limit. Therefore, you can't be called a cripple. Perhaps, the heavens has plans for you" Granny chi said as she walked close to him.
"Granny chi. Thank you for your encouragement" Nigo replied as he stood up to hug her (Author: This is an innocent hug dirty minded people)
"Alright. Alright. It's time to prepare for school" she said caressing his head for a while before disengaging from the embrace.
"Yes" he replied and started walking towards the closet in the room.
Granny chi walked out of the room and closed the door behind her before sighing heavily "I couldn't tell him the the Guardian incarnate begin to see memories of the past incarnations. So, he won't be too disappointed later"
"Hmmmm...."
"Oh well, i just hope a miracle happens" she said before walking to the hall way of the house. Which was as large as the hall way of a castle. With ornamental decorations at the sides. The floor was made with spirit stones which reflected the images like a mirror.

Nigo was done preparing for school. This time, he was clad in a cream coloured hood and black pants. His dress code was so simple that if someone who didn't know him sees him, they wouldn't believe he is the son of the most important figure on earth.
He ate his breakfast, picked his bag. Then he walked towards the door. Granny chi saw him leaving. She looked at him carefully before saying "You don't ever get tired of dressing like this"
"Why would I get tired of dressing like this?" He responded with a smile on his face.
"Never mind!.... Just remember to come home immediately after school today. The news stated; our continent would be the area of 'Falling Stars' this time around. So i don't want you to be outside when it starts"
"Oh... Okay" Nigo said "Is zara already here?"
Zara was his friend since childhood (he's still a child.....kinda). She was one of the two friends he had ever made in his life. She was also strong and talented.
At the age of seven, when they first met at school. She was already at the S - tier of the 'Beginner User Domain'. Right now, four years later, she was already at the S - tier of the 'Staff User domain' crossing from one domain to the peak of a greater domain. Her use of user energy and control over the ice element was unmatched among her peers. Even teachers, were sometimes jealous of her talent.
Despite all this achievements, she still waited for him every morning for them to head for school with each other.
Granny chi smiled before saying "she has been waiting outside for sometime now"
"Heh.... Why does she always prefer sitting outside instead of entering the house?" Nigo asked
"When you see her ask her yourself, isn't she your friend?" Granny chi continued smiling.
"There's something you're not telling me" Nigo had a probing look on his face.
"Start heading to school, you're running late already. Though you are the Guardian's son, it shouldn't exempt you from punishment for late coming" Granny chi said
"Eh.....What's that supposed to mean?"
Granny chi made a gesture with her finger and an unseen energy pushed him gently towards the door.
"Hey! Granny chi! .....you haven't answered my question!" Nigo shouted as he was pushed to the door, he couldn't resist the energy, he was a cripple.
Nigo finally landed on his feet outside the door of the house, in the middle of the compound of the villa.
His house was like a palace with different quaters. For it was the house of the most important person in the world. It had a name 'The Guardian Villa'. Due to his status as the Guardian's son, having cars carry him to school every day would be considered the norm. But nigo didn't like those exaggerated luxury. He preferred walking to school with his friend 'Zara' every day since he was seven.
He looked outside the compound to see the figure of a young girl seated on a chair across the street. The girl looked at him and a smile appeared on her face. She got up to her feet and crossed the street to meet him.
She's clad in a blue gown and a black sandal. She's an ebony beauty with deep brown hair. which she let flow down to her waist. Her blue pupils and her slightly pink lips, adding to her tender beauty. She has long lashes which gave her dreamy eyes. Her face, tender and smooth. She had a gold armlet around her arm.
"How long have you been waiting?" Nigo asked while walking out to meet her.
"For about twenty minutes" Zara said, while looking at his dress code. She asked "Was this what you were doing in there?"
"Yes" He nodded before continuing "I was searching through my wardrobe for which hood was the lightest, due to the sunny weather today"
"Oh, I see..... " She said "But you're always clad in a sweater no matter the weather. Can't you wear a shirt instead? You can't use User energy to control your body tempera....." She suddenly stopped when she noticed she might have said something wrong.
"sorry for overstepping my boundaries" she said with an apologetic tone
"Nah, don't worry about that. You are just looking out for me, right?" Nigo responded "Now that I think of it. Why didn't you come inside to wait for me in my house?"
"Nothing....." She replied. She suddenly looked up at the sky, smiled and pulled his arm.
"Let's get going." And they started heading to school.
"Wait! Wait ah.....why are you suddenly pulling me like that!"
"Won't you answer my question first?"
"Why are you ladies refusing to ans......Ah"
Nigo screamed and struggled to no avail. How would he release himself from the grip of an 'User' at the Peak of the staff domain? It was like an ant and a mountain, the difference was like heaven and earth. One was a 'cripple' while other was a staff domain expert.
Zara didn't even feel his struggle. Except for his skin, she would have forgotten she was pulling someone. However, his screams were disturbing.
Zara suddenly stopped. Nigo stopped his shouting and said "You finally decided to stop, huh"
Zara looked at him and said menacingly "If you don't stop shouting, I will freeze your mouth so you won't talk again"
"You're kidding right?"
Zara remained quiet
"Right?" Nigo said with a face of apprehension.
Zara brought her face closer until their faces where few centimetres apart before replying "Hehehe.....try me and see"
Nigo froze before saying in a fake sobbing voice "You ladies bully me because I'm a cripple.... fake sob ......fake sob"
"Eh...... so you know how to cry like a baby too" zara teased.
Nigo stopped his act. He knew continuing was a waste of time. And acting was even worse because zara knew him like the back her hand.
"Good, now let's go" she said and then they continued their journey.
Nigo suddenly started whispering "Ah, why won't answer me Ah! Ah!"
Zara stopped to look at him, a wisp of blue light flashed in her eyes
Nigo:"( >-
"No no I won't speak again! Ah!......"
