Cash isn’t king, people sometimes say
mostly by those who never had to worry.
Yet it’s missed by many almost every day
as unpaid bills can make them quite sorry.
While it’s wise to save some for a rainy day
nobody can take it with them when they go.
Time should always be set aside to play
but responsible saving isn’t just for show.
Being sensible with finances is a tight rope
what we all have to be careful when crossing.
Bad choices make me feel like such a dope
When saving up for good times this spring.
Money isn’t everything, but it doesn’t hurt
as little things stop us from feeling like dirt.
