《VOID REQUIEM》Chapter 32: Ryu vs Hugo, ferocity or electricity

Kalo laid attached to the walls. The shackles that bound him weren’t letting loose. His life was about to be over, is what he thought. The dim glow of light in his eyes was fading away. He thought about everything he regretted. Sorrowful memories of not stopping his son, losing his granddaughter and fellow neighbours, everything rushed into his mind. The only thing left were tears. Tears that seemed to not come out. The only thing he wanted now was to see the conclusion of this fight. But it seemed hopeless. But just before death could take that last blow, Miku shook his body, ridding the dizziness that engulfed him.
“Hey you alright there, old man.” She said, burning the chains down with her laser gun.
It seemed fate was a bit at his side. “Not yet, huh?” He thought to himself. As the shackles fell down to the ground, Miku pulled him up. Kalo’s eyes widened with horror at what was behind them.
“Look out!” he shouted.
Miku looked behind, only to be hit by a big punch right across her face. Gorger had launched that hit. He was covered in blood and water. The pool seemed to turn red from his blood. But he was still not shaken.
“Stop underestimating us, you damn rookies!?” He growled. Taking his hand towards the chest wound and wrapping it with a thick black cloth that covered his eye. One of his eyes was yellow, like something had pierced through it.
“You think the Kuro gang are just some silly bullshits like you? These eyes have seen battles your little sweatpants couldn’t even imagine,” He further added. Miku shook her head, trying to get rid of her own dizziness. That punch in the jaw left quite the mark.
Back in the lower levels, Ryu stood in awe as Hugo stood still, taking on Ryu’s Khao Khong Denki. A grin on his face as he hugged Ryu tightly.

“Like hell imma be knocked out by some pathetic punk like you,” Hugo shouted as he jumped towards the top. A high jump. Spinning like a top, he crashed down towards the ground with Ryu in hand.
“Seismic Toss!”
Blood sped out of Ryu’s mouth as his skull hit the pavement with massive force. Before he could recover, Hugo grabbed his legs and swung him towards the ground, inevitably falling to another floor below. This floor was quite different. Covered with lanterns and a dining hall that seemed to have endless space for sitting. He tried to jump on top of Ryu, but Ryu had mentally recovered. He swiftly rolled to the side, dodging that foot.

Ryu felt a bit of compulsion within himself to go beyond the percentage on top of his head.
“No. I can’t be rash. But I also can’t prolong this fight.”
Hugo smashed the long tables beside him.
“That human had quite the odd tricks.” Hugo said, grabbing Ryu’s attention.
“It was strange. No Meto at all… something I have never faced before…”
Just from those words, Ryu realized he was talking about Ken.
“But little shits like you… I fight your kind for warmup every day..” Hugo said with a confident smirk as he threw the smashed tables towards Ryu. As Hugo was talking, Ryu had already flown countless volts of electricity across his hands. The E waves inside him were moving with precision,
“Lightning Meto: Thunder Clap!”
A clap that scattered high amounts of electricity from his hands. The electricity hit the tables, destroying it. But Hugo was waiting for that. Using the tables as cover, he quickly got close to Ryu. Ryu tried to back off but realized he was cornered towards a wall.
“Let me show you how this wolf kills his prey!”
Hugo tackled Ryu towards the wall, making a hole. Before Ryu could get out, he immediately grabbed Ryu and tossed him down to the ground.

“Seismic toss!”
This time, the floor didn't break. But Ryu’s body felt numb by the impact.

Mumbling words were coming out of his mouth. Even Hugo couldn't understand, despite having such powerful ears. He pulled Ryu by the collar, dangling him as blood flowed down. He looked down at Ryu’s almost unconscious body.
“This is the difference between you weaklings and us.”

“Soon when we get hold of the sword again, even the Ivan household will have to-”
“Will you shut the fuck up?”
A burst of electricity transmitted out of Ryu shocked Hugo in the process as he was flung towards the side. Ryu’s eyes were glowing deep blue. Bluer than the raging ocean. His white hair felt as if it was floating in air. His whole body was letting out small sparks of electricity.
“Fuck, I’m having to use 10%. How disappointing of me”
He stared right at Hugo, who was about to stand up. As Hugo blinked, Ryu had disappeared. He had already dashed towards the top, letting down a roundhouse kick to Hugo’s skull. They crashed down another floor towards what would seem to be an indoor football field.
“You think you can win against me that easily?'' Hugo said. But he himself knew that kick had done a lot of damage. The electricity from that attack was fierce enough to damage him strongly.
“Yea!” Ryu said, closing in on him. He noticed Ryu and tried to grab hold of him.
“As if I'm going to let you,” Ryu said, ducking down and immediately uppercutting Hugo after dodging the initial grab. He kept hitting him from every side while simultaneously dodging each of his attacks. Ryu’s attacks were like a blade piercing through air, shaving Hugo’s red fur with each strike.
“You said that human had odd tricks?” Ryu quoted. Hugo was eyeing Ryu for a few seconds. Finally, finding the right footstep to grab him. In a last desperate move, he jumped towards the top.
“This seismic toss will-”
Ryu let out a huge discharge of electricity. Hugo Tried to resist it, but the ferocity of Ryu’s electricity was too powerful.
“Don’t think I don't have tricks of my own!” Ryu said, taking a crouching position. That high voltage had made Hugo feel numb. His eyes were dizzy. His heart was beating fast. Ryu slowly walked towards him. He was seeing multiple of Ryu’s in front. Trying to defend himself, he launched one last fist which Ryu didn’t even have to dodge.
“Hmph.” Ryu growled.
This was it.
“Lightning Meto: Meia Lua De Compasso Denki!”
A meia-lua de compasso (lit. compass half moon) is a technique found in the martial art of capoeira that combines an evasive maneuver with a reverse roundhouse kick. It is one of the most powerful and efficient kicks of the art and one of its most iconic movements, along with the rasteira. It is even considered that a capoeirista's general skill level can be determined on how hard and fast they can execute a meia-lua de compasso. And Ryu had executed it flawlessly. The attack had sent Hugo straight towards the goal post of that indoor field, knocking him out.

The electricity stimulation in Ryu’s body had calmed down. He slowly tapped his forehead with his fingers, looking at the drops of blood within.
“Tsk. Should have used this earlier.”
