The bullets were powerful and fast as they tore through the sound barrier like paper, arriving in front of the targets instantly.

Kotaro moved to the side on instinct as he felt the danger while Saitou cut the bullet in half as he blocked with his blade.

From these reactions Shirou got gauge the level of his opponents, they were troublesome but not enough to threaten him.

Saitou wasn't fast enough to dodge the bullets but his reactions were good while Kotaro was faster and his reactions were even better.

Their equipment shouldn't be low level either as the blade was only slightly chipped by the bullets. It was a good reaction feat by both individuals but Saitou got hit by the fragments, causing him to bleed from his side bit it was just a minor injury instead of the hole he had been aiming for.

Shirou didn't stop and continued his assault but the surprise was gone and his enemies started moving at full speed to avoid the attacks.

Kotaro threw several smoke bombs and they hid from his sight.

In this small confrontation, Saitou broke one of his blades and had his arm broken from the force behind the bullets.

He was also bleeding from multiple hits while Kotaro had managed to dodge the attacks without getting hit even once.

The ninja slapped the ground to make hole where they took shelter as hiding behind trees wasn't going to help them.

Once inside the hole, the surface was covered to cover up their presence while leaving out a dark hornets and spiders to act as his eyes.

With the enemy attacking them like this, Kotaro was unable to use hawk eyes to find them without taking the risk of getting shot.

The commands of Judas were that they were supposed to be careful. He didn't want them to die taking pointless risks.

Kotaro sent the data back to Judas as they had found the target and now the Pegasus squad was on the way to provide back up.

They needed to keep the target grounded for just `10 minutes.

Saitou had also recovered from the damage as he used the dark magic to have his skin meld back together while taking out new blades to replace the ones he just damaged.

"Tell me the direction." Saitou asked with a hint of anger as he disliked that they had been forced to hide like cowards.

The angels ring was used to control them and suppress their consciousness but Judas had already freed their consciousness after making adjustments so now they were slowly starting to show some emotions as they went through different experiences.

This was just their third mission since the completion of the experiment.

Kotaro closed his eyes and focused on his dark creatures to find the location, it had changed slightly and the attack erased the insects.

"Follow my lead." Kotaro muttered as he opened his eyes and jumped out of the whole, and breathed out dark smoke to cover the region.

He continued running and breathing it out to cover up the enemies vision.

The smoke was made from his darkness magic so it didn't blind him and he could see anything that touched the smoke.

Saitou couldn't see through it so Kotaro used union magic to share his vision with him, allowing him to see through it and rush towards their target.

Both of them ran towards the location where the gun shots came from while avoiding anything coming at them.

Closing in on the target Saitou focused darkness energy on his blades and released twin strikes that tore through the trees like butter while Kotaro followed it up with a condensed black flame breath that spread black flames through the forest, easily burning the trees to ash.

They were told to capture the target but they had been assured that the target could handle their strongest attacks so there was no need to hold back.

But the moment the attacks landed, Kotaro realized it was a trap. There was just the gun that had been destroyed by the attacks and it had been left behind by Shirou with some wire mechanism to shoot without his presence.

"He ran away, the target is too careful." Saitou muttered as he looked at the affect of their attacks. He had a calm expression and he was looking at the area waiting for his partner to show him the way as he wasn't skilled in tracking.

Kotaro looked at the area and couldn't see any clues as they had just destroyed them. He had just given command to the Pegasus division to send a unit and it would be problematic in this situation so he decided to cancel it.

Before he could go through with the act, both of them felt danger and quickly covered themselves with the dark barrier. The barrier was team work for maximum defense power and they were covered in a huge explosion that destroyed the barrier and sent them flying.

Saitou crashed through the trees while Kotaro was also crashed into them as the explosion was too powerful too block.

They had been unable to reinforce the barrier with more energy before the force hit them and now they had been covered in burns with bones broken and even some limbs missing.

Kotaro was knocked out by the explosion while Saitou stood up with the help of his blade. He was now missing an arm that he had used to slash the explosion for defensive purpose.

His insides were also a mess but he still had mana so the damage could be healed given enough time. Saitou grinded his teeth seeing Kotaro in such a bad shape and quickly used dark healing on his body to cover up the minor injuries as bigger injuries needed a proper healer.

Done with that, Saitou went to Kotaro's side and healed his damaged while waiting for the Pegasus squad to arrive since Kotaro had been unable to send the command.

On the other hand Shirou and Kurono were running far away from the battlefield. Shirou decided that it was too risky to fight the enemy especially since they were still near the Laboratory.

He knew about magic, and there were ways to reduce travel time especially if the magician knew teleportation or flight or speed increasing magic.

He was also unsure if these two were the only ones nearby, there could be more behind them. There was risk of getting injured and there was no benefit in fighting them since more trackers could be sent and they will have more clues about him.

So Shirou decided to leave a trap, he used explosion magic. He left delayed explosion magic on the spot and layered it with more explosions to make it more powerful since he couldn't use Greater Explosion.

This decision was made especially seeing how the opponents reacted. They hid from his sight and had ways to cover up his vision. This would have taken time and got them captured.

Kurono didn't say anything against his decision as he understood the reasoning and Shirou was someone experienced in this field while he was just a Battle mage with only normal life experiences.

To increase the pace Shirou applied Speed Up magic on them until they arrived near the river where Shirou cut down a tree and decided to use it as transportation.

"Kurono, I need your mana." Shirou asked as they sat on the log. He had used too much of his mana, leaving only a quarter of it and he had been unable to recover what he had lost.

"Okay, what do I do?" Kurono nodded as he could see how Shirou had been using magic after magic, it could be taking a toll on him.

With Shirou out of mana, it would be trouble for both of them and he trusted Shirou with his life as it had been saved by him.

"Just don't resist, okay." Shirou had learned of ways to utilize other people's mana to help him cast magic from the girls since they would help him out especially Illya. Illya and Sakura played the part of his support and allowed him to practice his Unlimited Blades. They allowed him to construct the most powerful weapons while also teaching him about them as he lacked information on mythological weapons.

He had practiced making normal weapon before and now he practiced making complex and powerful weapons, using UBW to force his body to adapt to the level especially with the addition of the artificial circuits.

They had been slowly increasing those and his body had yet to reach the theoretical limits or even fully get used to the current circuits.

Kurono nodded and Shirou placed his hand on his back as he sat behind him. With that he connected with the mana inside of Kurono, it was different from the one he was used to handling but it was more than enough.

Using the mana he cast invisibility on them and the log while using telekinesis magic to increase the pace and control the log to avoid anything in the way.

Shirou was unsure where the river led but he was sure that it would lead to the sea and a port town was always in the way.

Getting to a port town could help them immensely as it should be filled with all kinds of people and a large population.

It should be the best place to gather information about the world and allies. It also should be their way off this territory if needed.

Without much trouble the duo arrived inside the Port City of the Holy Empire called Assyria. It was one of the largest and richest cities in the Empire.

It was a gathering place for people from around the continent and even people from other continents. It was the center piece of the Duchy of Assyria under the Duchess Semiramis.

The whole region around the Port Town was part of the Duchy under her control.

The Wise Duchess of Assyria was born from an elf mother and a human man. She was left on the waterfront by her loveless mother. Semiramis was then found and educated by the shepherd Simmas until she married Onnes, an old merchant; but she was then taken away by the Duke of Assyria who fell in love with her thanks to her beautiful face. Since her childhood, she had studied a wide range of disciplines such as cosmetics, hairdressing, dancing, clothing, music and astronomy, and her beautiful face had captivated many men. Her passion had led her to poison her husband, for politics, but her abilities as a Duchess are indisputable. Proof of her ability can be seen in the advancement of the Duchy since she took over unlike the Duke. She believed it necessary for one to be superior to others and have more desires than regular people as a ruler, thinking that those who uphold frugality are only playing a sport privileged to those who have gained the "most important possession of all", authority.

As such she was a very a selfish woman that got what she wanted and feared no one, not even the Apostles.
