Prologue A: There was once a man known as The Hero

“You are going to be the Hero of this era, you will save us from the Demon King”

To an ordinary village these words hold a lot of pressure and prestige, a lot of honor as well as overwhelming soul crushing responsibility. One might say you could almost feel like you want to run away yet this was a once in a lifetime chance. To become great , to go down in history as the man or woman who saved the world from the evil that is the Demon King. That is what David felt when he was told he was going to be this generation’s Hero. He felt elated to be given such a role, even as he received the Holy Sword Exultia he made a vow that he would protect the people of the world from evil. And thus he began his journey, with a well balanced party that registered itself to the Adventurer’s Guild and began to climb up the ranks. Lucas, John, Scott, Myne, and Fiona were all in the roles of paladin, rogue, ranger, mage and cleric respectively with David himself being the Hero class. They went through a lot as a party and grew to know each other, becoming attached to each other. With time they did come to the Demon King’s Palace and slaughtered all who resided in it reaching to the Demon King who sat on his throne with a smile.

“I welcome you Hero and his Party, I see you have made short work of my subordinates. Its pleasing to see that you made it all the way here.”

“Glad that you know that death is at your door. I do not see of your elite royal guard”

“I told them to take a day off and honor me by doing so”

“A foolish action on your part”

“Maybe”

And once the battle with the Demon King began, as fate would have it the Hero won of course but at the cost of his life and the two of the other party members’ lives, they attained victory at a great price and made a vow to carry on the Hero’s wish.

But the story doesn’t go like that at all, you see everything up until the point where the Hero got to defeat the Demon King was true but him dying to his injuries was an entire fabrication. Now the true story of how the Hero met his end shall begin now. And how his ending brought about a new tale.
