《Astral Imperialization》7. 30 seconds for 10 kills

“I only shot the douchebag who tried to kill an unarmed… Demon, was it? Why are you so worked up Fatso?” I answered.
After seeing me, all the Demons had round eyes, but Fatso didn’t give up.
“How dare a puny human try to interfere into Demon’s affairs?” he reprimanded. “If you surrender, I’ll maybe let you live after torturing you,” he threatened.
The chief and the daughter stood up, their faces full of uncertainty.
“Human, I don’t know who you are, but you should run while you still have the time. I’m grateful, but you can’t win against them. Voltemar is a magician,” he explained. His finger was pointing toward the lump of squirming flesh.
Can Fatso really use psychic powers? Why can’t I feel it? I took another look at the obese Demon called Voltemar, but he was still a useless bum in my eye.
“Old man, he’s so fat. How can he fight when he can’t even walk 5 meters without panting? I’ll help you and your people,” I retorted.
The daughter laughed. “Thank you stranger but you can’t help us. He’s a medium level mage. He can easily kill everyone here.”
“What if I have a mean to save your people? You said you’ll do anything for a helping hand,” I reminded.
“We will gladly assist you if you can save us,” offered the chief.
“I don’t want your support. I want control over your tribe.” I proposed.
“We will not become your slaves.” he immediately stressed.
“I don’t need slaves. Everyone will become my subordinates,” I corrected.
His daughter kneeled and accepted my proposal. “We’ll do what you want! I’m even willing to be your personal servant if you save every villager,” she exclaimed.
The chief was stunned by the words coming from her mouth. I turned to the other villagers.
“I guarantee the security of your loved ones if you pledge your allegiance to me. I don’t want slaves, I need subjects!” I turned my head to Little Red. “You, do you want to die by their hands? I offer you security and a safe place to stay where no one will oppress you.”
Little Red kneeled and yelled. “I’m willing! Save me and my child, please.” It acted as a catalyst. Soon, most of the villagers were kneeling.
At this time, Voltemar jeered, “HAHAHA, you’re all delusional. Do you really think this little monkey will kill us? With what? His words?” He laughed.
“Oi shithead! Nobody gave you the right to speak. You interrupt while I’m recruiting my followers. I’ll send you to hell with your stupid guards.” I cursed.
He stopped laughing. Guess he’s not used to people talking back. They were all grouped in the same place except Fatso. It will be a piece of cake.
15 years without even a spar. Now I can fight to my heart's content. In addition, I can test the strength of these native Demons.
“Alyn, record the fight and their movements. We’ll use these footages as learning and training materials,” I ordered Alyn.
“The drone will hover at a higher altitude for recording,” she responded.
“So, chickens, how do we fight? One versus many or one versus one until you understand you can’t beat a puny human?” I taunted.
It proved efficient since Vargar was baited.
“I’ll enjoy killing you. Insect!” he barked.
Due to a hole in his arm, he was hardly using his large great axe with his one hand left. He was dragging it when he approached me. Suddenly, his muscles bulged and he quickly swung his axe horizontally. His strategy is based on brute force. It could split me in two if it was my first fight. Yet, his axe flew over me as I crouched. I took my knife out and hit his chest where his heart was.

ARGH
“Don’t come too close when your opponent has a short-ranged weapon, you moron,” I laughed.
Voltemar was clearly unsettled by this outcome, and the villagers were cheering.
“I don’t have enough time to kill you one by one. You’re only 9, so we’ll end it now,” I sneered.
I draw my pistol, aimed at one bully, and fired right in the middle of his head.
CRACK
Next, I killed five of them in seconds with the same tactic. Thanks to them remaining still like chickens at the slaughterhouse, I didn’t even break a sweat. The accuracy brought by the nanobots is no laughing matter. In less than 20 seconds, there were only 3 men left standing.
The daughter was overjoyed. “He killed them so fast. He’s going to save us, father!”
“He’s powerful. Even if we all fight him, I don’t think we would win. And what is this little piece of metal? A magician’s wand?” he asked.
“I don't think so. This is not related to magic because I don’t feel any mana coming from it. Furthermore, this is the first time I see something like that,” answered his daughter.
“I hope we didn’t make a deal with the devil...” He sighed.
Fatso was calm. He doesn’t feel threatened because I hadn't shown any sign of mental powers. They all think that none can kill them without being a psychic themselves. I’ll show them how you can easily kill a noob psychic.
“What are you doing, dumbass? Fight him together! Don’t bring shame on my honor!” yelled Voltemar.
The 3 reluctant minions attacked me in 3 different directions. I stepped back before reinforcing my feet, thanks to the nanites. I kicked the head of the left one. His head exploded with a loud bang. The Demon in the middle was painted with bits of brains, but he didn’t get the time to be afraid. His head was the next to being hit. The last Demon dodged my feet and tried to cut me with his short sword. I stepped on my left and grabbed the hand holding the weapon. I broke his wrist as I forcibly changed the trajectory of his sword toward his own throat. Warm bloods flooded on my hands. The last warrior lost the lights in his eyes and dropped dead on the ground.
“You’re not human. Human knights can’t kill Demons like you do. What are you?” asked Fatso.
He began to worry. Perspirations flooded his forehead. He was now holding a wooden stick.
“This is not important. Die for me!” he shouted. An earthen pike flew from his stick.
“NO!” yelled the chief’s daughter. She tried to lessen the pike’s power with her own. She launched several little fireballs on Voltemar’s earthen pike. Unfortunately, her power wasn’t enough. The pike wasn’t disturbed in the slightest. I heard movements coming from behind me. I think Sylviane is trying to help too.
BOUM
The earthen projectile crashed into my chest armor. Except for a loud noise, nothing happened. The polymer’s breastplate has absorbed the damage. I shot Voltemar’s knees before he does some more stupid stuff. He wailed and dropped to the ground. The daughter’s leader jumped on him right away. She kicked his wand away and beat him unconscious. Suddenly, a warm embrace came from before me. I didn’t expect it at all.
“Are you wounded? Does it hurt? Why didn’t you dodge?” A flurry of questions assayed me.

“Calm down, I’m all right. Stop it. You’re spreading blood all over your hands… And pieces of brain too,” I warned Sylviane.
“While you’re flirting with our First Advisor, I caught a spy following the magician’s team. I killed him before he fled. His corpse is next to the gate. I send you a photo of his coat of arms. Maybe the locals can give you the location from where he’s coming,” grumbled Alyn.
“Thank you. What could I ever do without you? You’re perfect!” I cajoled Alyn.
“Humph, nothing! Lucky you for getting the best partner,” she exclaimed.
It works each time. She loves compliments.
“Hm, Sylviane you should maybe… let me go? They are looking at us, you know?” I wasn’t lying. All the villagers, the chief and his daughter included, were looking at us with wariness. The village head’s daughter had even a tinge of anxiousness in her eyes.
I could feel the heat coming from her body behind me. I guess I’m imagining the heat increasing with each passing second. I could hear some mumbles too.
“What did I do? Why did I do it? How can I explain this? What can I do?” she stammered.
“First, you can let me go. After that, can we speak to our new subordinates? You don’t need to explain why you suddenly left your position and hugged your superior when the enemy was still capable of fighting. Just don’t put you in danger next time.” I calmy explained.
“I… I’m sorry. I was afraid you would be injured,” she explained.
She let me go. I turned on myself and looked at her face. She was as red as a tomato and very embarrassed. I tried to comfort her.
“This isn’t an issue. You don’t need to worry about it that much.
“However, you’ll need to wash the blood on your hands. Sorry for that,” I added.
“First thing I will do. I will not repeat this error governor, I’m sorry for my blunders,” she apologized.
“Apology accepted. Now we need to talk to them. We haven’t yet saved every villager.”
I turned my head toward the chief.
“What is your name leader?”
“My name is Bozur. My daughter’s name is Sarrelle. In the name of the entire village, I thank you and your friend for helping us,” he said, while kneeling.
“Thank you human, how can we call you?” Sarrelle chimed. She was still nervous.
“My name is Drake, and her name is Sylviane. She’s my First Advisor. You will respond to her in the future. She’s one my direct assistant with Alyn. You will meet her later,” I answered.
“What is an Advisor? Is it an another name for your concubine?” Bozur questioned.
Oi old man, are you sure your brain is working? Sylviane is completely red. There’s smoke coming from her head and she’s looking at the ground. Sarrelle is looking at us anxiously and Alyn uncloaked the drone. Why is the drone releasing its laser gun? I need to resolve this misunderstanding right now before people get murdered.
“She’s like an ally who gives me advice, helps me manage my territory, … Alyn is sort of my Advisor too. There’s nothing sexual or anything of the sort.”
Sarrelle’s face lit up and Bozur seemed relieved. Sylviane went back to normal, but she had an unreadable expression. The ominous drone activated its optical camouflage and disappeared. I turned to the villagers’ mob kicking the dead warriors of Voltemar.
“Do you all understand that I’m your new chief?” I yelled.
“Yes!” they all yelled back in unison.
Something pulled on my sleeve. It was Sarrelle.
“Now that you’re our chief, are you going to save my sister and the other hostages?” she asked. Tears spilling from her eyes.
“Of course, you’re now all proud citizens of the Empire. You’re all under my protection.”
She was so glad that she hugged me faster than Sylviane had tried to intercept her.
“WHY IS THIS DRONE STILL HERE. DON’T HURT A CITIZEN OR I’LL FUCKING DESTROY IT!”
“I’m sorry. Bad manipulation, it was… a joke! Yes, a joke. I’ll send it back to the entrance.”
“Excuse me, but you should not do this. There is maybe your future husband with the villagers. You shouldn’t show me too much proximity.” I interrupted.
“What are you saying? As you’re the new leader, the previous chief’s daughter must marry him. That’s why Voltemar wanted to marry me.”
HUH…
“You unfaithful partner, how could you do this to me?” lamented Alyn.
“I didn’t know! Furthermore, this law is illegal now. So, nobody’s marrying here!” I tried to save my life. But what is the meaning of partner in AI language?
“You’re right. She’s just an uneducated native. I don’t need to feel threatened.”
Sylviane intervened too. “Now that you’re an Empire’s citizen, this law doesn’t apply to you. Now you can unhand him. Moreover, as the Imperial Governor, his Excellency can’t marry with a stranger.”
After she said Excellency, everyone looked straight at me, looking shocked. Sarrelle took a step back and kneeled like everyone else in a synchronized movement.
“We are sorry, your Excellency. Please excuse us, we didn’t know you were from the royalty. My daughter will never touch you again!” apologized Bozur.
“What is happening Alyn?”
“They use the term Excellency only for the highest royalty on this planet in every kingdom. They wrongly understood our own meaning.”
“I’m not that type of Excellency. I’m just a guy like you! Just more… on the human side. In our country, we only use his Excellency for the high-levels officers. I’m not from the royalty. Please get up everyone.,” I explained.
Sarrelle quickly jumped up and joked with a joyful smile. “So, I still have my chance.”
Sylviane was going to talk back, but I interrupted first.
“No more jokes. We need to find the hostages and rescue them before they know Voltemar has been defeated,” I ordered. Bullets avoided.
“We just need to wake him up. Let’s wake him up with a little kick.” Bozur laughed.
“I’ll do it.” His daughter went toward Voltemar. She was going to kick him in the balls.
“This is for my sister, you pervert!”

The Goddess of Death's Champion
Eliot and Cel start off the same as any other peasant and climb their way to the heavens. At least, that's what a cheesy hook might say, however, Eliot and Cel have always had the attention of the Gods, Eliot longer than Cel but by no God more important. Even if it is their destiny to achieve legend status, they started out some where, and with only the semblance of a head start, not to mention that it makes for an interesting story. (If you decided to read because of a specific tag, some of them only show up later on in the story. I should also mention that romance is a significant focus but there is no romance tag besides the one in genre)
