《Amulet of Infinity》13 [School] Calm before Graduation

'Life has somewhat normalized for the "Princess Quartet",' mused Jote. In the past few semesters, the assigned maids spoke nothing of their pasts to anyone involved. His Majesty reminded them constantly that the head maids are subject to His recall, should it prove necessary for the peace of either Tumal or Ahnek. The only strange thing was the one maid of Esther's that had dog ears and a tail. Although it was an old story, no one had seen a chimeran in centuries, yet here was one serving the woman he loves. Even his power of foresight had not shown him this possibility.
In just two days, the winter solstice and new year festivities were to kick off. With them, the Tumali royal granddaughters would be returning home to their kingdom for the first time since the ordeal of the Amulet hunt began, and as graduates of the Academy. Just thinking about it brought back to mind an old passage he found in a history book:
"In the Spring of the first Year of Tumnek's reign, the great wizard was commissioned to create a talisman of leadership. Should it be broken, the kingdom will fall until his rightful heirs restore the proud sigil."
Since he had not yet found the amulet, and the young ladies have not volunteered any information, it was time to focus on this history. By perceiving the history of the book, he knew that this passage was hundreds of years old. Looking through other ancient histories suggested that in ages past, a great kingdom once existed that stretched proverbially from one sea to the other. When the last king died, his heirs had waged bloody wars over the entire kingdom destroying much of its history and shattering a major talisman - the king's crown. With the destruction of so much and the deaths of so many, the empire faded into history. Jote pondered about the connection briefly as Esther walked in.

"We're done. All of us passed and we've proven ourselves to Ahnek and Tumal. Now we have to deal with those so-called engagement certificates! Don't think I've forgotten about that stunt."

Luck Lockyer
Luck Lockyer was the type of man to smirk in the dark, the expression not for anyone but himself. One of perpetual amusement. The bright side of things were hard to find in the shade yet his amber eyes were always searching. The smirk was his default, he knew it, his friends knew it, his family knew it. It was his most natural state. But the death of everyone close to you can affect a downwards curve on the mouths of even the most stoic people. Without purpose, without anyone to do the job for, Luck Lockyer found himself inside an empty forgotten church. The perpetual smirk on his face had slipped to a thin line, his scar more noticeable now than ever before. His amber eyes, the windows to his soul, dull and lifeless. To anyone who knew him, it was the clothing that gave away his mental state, denim pants and a plain black t-shirt. If that wasn't enough, the tears running down his face certainly would, the echoing sobs of a broken man rang across the rundown church. It was on a whim, but Luck Lockyer prayed, he prayed for many things, for death, revenge, friends, but the one prayer dominating his thoughts, a second chance for his family. That was all he wanted. Simple. It was then, on the outskirts of a polluted city, in an abondoned lot, in a forgotten church that Luck Lockyer, the Devil of the Cards, the Bloodless Hand, the Amber Demon, the Broken, was answered by a being from another world and one from his. *found the picture online

He was a sinner even before he was born. A sin that he couldn't be forgiven for. A sin he couldn't be held accountable for. No matter how hard his parents begged, no matter how hard they tried to keep their son safe. Their only option was to hide him. In the process not knowing what kind of monster they had created. They had no idea what kind of evil he held within him. On top of that he realised that a mere human was his only way to sanity. -- "I expected you to run human? Or hear you scream. Why aren't you running?" The smile got replaced with a frown. He looked disappointed. "Why aren't you screaming human?" His eyes turned black and he looked more terrifying than he did before."Y-you won't hurt me."The story is completely made up, the angels and the demons are not the same as in other religions. I have made up a whole different story about the Gods in this book. So be aware.
