《The scale of God》Unlikely companion

Guns point at both sides of the hall, one trembling the other stationery. Llida has a silenced pistol aiming directly at Annabelle's head. Her sweat plays a rhythm on the wooden floors as they rain from her face. The sounds of tiny footsteps hitting the floor pulsate in Kai’s mind. What if someone were to see a scene like this? There would be a lot of explaining to do, and I doubt anyone would listen to reason and just go straight to the police. Llida pokes the hat off of her head with the gun.
“I found this little shit snooping around. Still, looking for my Moms huh? Wrong mansion bitch”, Llida pulls down the hammer.
“I'm sorry I’m sorry”, a french accent bounces off the walls of the hall “I was given order’s you see. I get paid, I do a job, simple yeah?” Llida fires a warning shot right at her feet.
“You think that makes up for anything? You tried to kill my mother asshole!”
“When are you gonna tell us about what they want with your mom?”, Roman asks
“When are you gonna tell us why you hunt angels?”, Kai looks at Roman as his hand begins to steady.
Anabelle turns her head to Llida.
“I assure you, I have no grudge against your family. Our mission was a failure, we have nothing to do with your mother any longer”, Llidas' body gets hot as he points the gun at her face.
“That doesn’t make up for anything!”, He pulls the trigger.
Roman’s gun is completely dismantled in the arms of Annabelle, she drops the pieces to the ground.
“I’m an assassin for hire, I do what I am told. Unless I’m given a job to execute your mother again, I will have nothing to do with your family”

Kai hands Roman the gun and slowly walks towards Annabelle. The icy feeling is gone. She is not a threat to anyone here.
“Then explain what you’re doing here Miss. Annabelle”
“I invited her”, Rosa’s voice can be heard from behind Kai and Roman.
“Anny you must've gotten lost, are you ok?”, As she walks towards the group she notices the pieces of weaponry on the floor. Kai’s body feels as if he was dropped into the arctic ocean. Rosa’s glare at the group seems inhuman, her facial structure almost that of a demon.
“Who the hell pointed a gun at her?”
“No no Rosa. I told them I could dismantle anything and they asked me to show them. Sorry, I dirtied your carpet”, She clasps her hand and smiles tilting her head. Attempting to cushion the situation. Rosa’s glare persists as she stares down Kai. The air becomes thinner as Rosa’s signature smile plasters on her face.
“Well ok then! I’m starving let’s go and eat your present, yeah?” she says as she walks off with her arm in the air letting out a cute laugh ‘Ah hyah hyah hyah’
Roman creeps over to Llida and whispers “Hey, you brought presents?”
Llida fixes his tie as he gives a snarky look at Roman “Of Course I brought presents. Since you haven't that means I’ve won.”
“I got presents”, Kai standing with several wrapped boxes big and small. “I teleported to the mall. Turns out they had some pretty good deals.”
Llida scoffs as he follows after Rosa
“Someone like you wouldn’t even be able to afford a gift suitable for her”
He had many gifts suitable for her. Kai had split his gifts with Roman. Rosa enjoys the plethora of cakes and donuts that Kai got over the diamond necklace that Llida got. The boys still avoid Annabelle but Masha is a lot more friendly. They had a great time, the group got a little closer to each other over several games and movies, even Anabelle appeared to fit in. All of that would go down the drain as today is a Thursday. Another day at Cole’s High.

School-life & Swordfights: A Clubs and Stubs Tale
Warning: Clubs and Stubs contains strong language and situations throughout that may not be suitable for younger readers. "This story takes place in a fantasy world with a modernish setting. It mainly follows four students of Hardires High School who are members of one of the greatest Team Arena Squads in the history of gladiatorial school athletics. Already two-time high-school world champions, they have entered their fourth and final year of high school in hopes of capturing a third straight world championship—something that no other school on the continent has accomplished. As they prepare for an upcoming match with a rival school, it becomes evident that keeping their two-and-a-half-year winning streak alive will be tougher than expected. As both personal and external problems abound for the student-gladiators, can they manage to keep it together under the constant pressure of being the perfect fighting unit? A blend of action, drama, adventure, and humor collide in this brand-new series!" Thanks so much for checking out my story! This is the first time that I've released any of my work to a public space so any feedback, be it positive or negative (but please be respectful if so) would be greatly appreciated. I'm hoping that this story is only the beginning of a long-running series of short stories set in the Clubs and Stubs universe. Temporary Book Cover Design by David Watson The release schedule is rather tentative, but the goal is to release a chapter every 2-4 days. I want to make sure that every scene is the best it can be before it’s released, so it may take a bit longer especially if it's a longer chapter. However, no chapter should take more than a week to be released. Each scene varies in length, but are usually between 1,000 to 2,000 words.
